Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1101: Chapter 627: The Truth_3

”In that case, I’ll have to watch this drama closely,” Zhou Yun said. ”I’ve been following ’Mother’ every day recently. It’s indeed a good show. By the way, how is it doing now?”

Song Chi replied, ”It’s doing alright, much better than expected. We’ll even make a small profit.”

”That’s good,” Zhou Yun laughed. ”I was really worried that this drama would cause you to lose money.”

Song Chi said, ”That’s unlikely. Although there’s always risk with projects, we can generally predict how a show will perform. When we made ’Mother,’ we kept the production costs under control. Apart from Sister Hongyu, we didn’t hire any other famous actors for this reason. Even with an all-star cast, this genre is hard to make a commercial hit. It’s better to sign new actors. That way, even if the drama doesn’t make much money, at least we’ve trained some new actors, and we can profit from their future development. I didn’t plan on going into actor management before, but now I’ve realized it’s necessary. Otherwise, the risks are greater, and balancing the books becomes difficult.”

”I find that kid Zhang Zeshan quite interesting. He acts well, makes me itch to give him a slap,” Zhou Yun laughed.

”You just like these young boys, don’t you?” Song Chi snorted softly.

Zhou Yun asked with a laugh, ”Are you jealous?”

Song Chi modestly pursed his lips, ”Not quite.”

”It’s not that I like these young boys. I just envy Zhang Zeshan’s character,” Zhou Yun said. ”I’ve never been that carefree.”

Song Chi held Zhou Yun’s hand, saying, ”You can be as carefree as you want to be now.”

”But I’m no longer seventeen or eighteen years old,” Zhou Yun said helplessly. ”Besides, I no longer have the mood or the passion for being carefree.”

Song Chi understood what Zhou Yun was saying.

After the event ended, Zhou Yun and Yu Sitian had to rush back to the set overnight.

But everyone was still hung up on one thing.

How did Yang Xi fall?

Zhou Yun didn’t want to wait around at the scene, figuring they’d eventually hear about it.

Song Chi told Zhou Yun, ”Most likely, Yang Xi fell accidentally on her own. Don’t set too much store by it. Who would really be so foolish to push her with cameras filming the whole time?”

However, it turned out that Song Chi had overestimated everyone’s intelligence and rationality.

In the footage from the scene, it turned out that Su Yan did indeed give Yang Xi a push.

Zhou Yun was stunned when she heard this.

She really couldn’t figure out why Su Yan would do such a thing.

...

It wasn’t just Zhou Yun who found it puzzling; Su Yan’s agent, He Ting, also couldn’t understand it.

”What are you doing?” He Ting questioned Su Yan.

Su Yan said, ”How could I have expected that, with so many people and such chaos, there would still be footage capturing it!”

She wore a look that suggested it wasn’t her fault for acting out but was the fault of the presence of cameras.

He Ting was nearly driven crazy by Su Yan.

”How could you not have expected it? Are you blind not to see so many cameras filming you on set?” He Ting shouted.

Su Yan coldly glanced at He Ting, saying, ”Sister Ting, why are you being so harsh with me already? Why don’t you ask why I pushed her?”

He Ting said, ”Do you even realize the situation? If we can’t persuade Yang Xi to drop this, and it gets exposed, your public image will be utterly destroyed! Even if ’Linjiang Immortal’ airs with over a 5% rating, it won’t save your career! No one will accept a celebrity known for violence, and no matter how loyal your fans are, officials won’t approve!”

Su Yan gritted her teeth.

She understood what He Ting was saying but still clung to a slim hope that things wouldn’t get that far.

She said, ”Alright, if Yang Xi wants to blow things up, then let her. She’s been spreading rumors about me, and I’ll expose all of it. I’ll see how she handles that!”

”What rumors is she spreading?” He Ting asked.

Su Yan refused to say.

He Ting frowned in confusion, ”Su Yan, what is she saying about you? I need to know so I can talk to Yang Xi. No matter what, we need to keep this under wraps.”

Su Yan lightly bit her lip and said, ”She’s spreading rumors that I had an abortion.”

On hearing this, He Ting looked at Su Yan seriously.

”Why would she say that?” He Ting asked.

Su Yan turned her head to the side, ”How should I know?”

He Ting asked, ”Then tell me honestly, did you really have an abortion?”
