Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1110: Chapter 630: Stunned (Part 3)

Xie Pinyuan’s car passed him by.

The people inside the car were a bit surprised to see him standing by the roadside.

”Isn’t there anyone to pick him up?” Cheng Shenlv asked.

”Seems like there isn’t,” Jin Lin felt a bit regretful. Seeing him standing alone by the road, she thought she should have shared a ride back with Huang Zicheng so he wouldn’t be so lonely.

Cheng Shenlv said, ”Doesn’t his assistant know how to drive?”

”It seems his company hasn’t even assigned him an assistant,” Jin Lin said.

”Huh?” Cheng Shenlv was a bit surprised, ”Really? Doesn’t he share the same agent with Sister Xiao Yun?”

Xie Pinyuan smiled faintly and said, ”Well, it’s probably because he’s not favored. I heard long ago that Huang Zicheng has been signed to their company for almost a year, but hasn’t been given any good roles. He’s just been doing minor roles in various crews. Oh, Cheng Shenlv, didn’t you and Zhou Yun have a film called ’Under the Grand Dress’? Didn’t he also have a minor role in it?”

Cheng Shenlv picked up on the mockery in Xie Pinyuan’s tone.

She said, ”His agent only signed two male actors, both newcomers, and they both make guest appearances.”

”Anyway, if they really valued him, why wouldn’t they even arrange an assistant for him?” Xie Pinyuan said.

Cheng Shenlv’s eyes flickered as she smiled and said, ”Well, it’s rare to debut directly as a leading role, like you.”

Xie Pinyuan had a slightly smug look on his face but quickly restrained it.

”I was just lucky.”

Jin Lin glanced back, Huang Zicheng’s figure was no longer in sight.

...

After Jiang Yuzhen finished her scenes, Zhou Yun suddenly had a much heavier filming schedule.

Seven or eight scenes a day, possibly with many different actors.

Zhou Yun suddenly began to miss the pure feeling of playing against just Jiang Yuzhen.

Having a rival who is equally matched with you, that’s such a happy thing.

Within a few short days, Zhou Yun had rehearsed with every actor once.

Each actor had different characteristics and acting habits. Like Jiang Yuzhen, she got into character very quickly, and working opposite her, they often completed scenes at a breakneck speed.

But Chen Jing was slower to get into character and needed Director Kang Xin to communicate with him several times before he could slowly get into the right state.

Of course, people like Chen Jing were already quite good, because once he was in character, his performance was very touching.

But someone like Xie Pinyuan was capped at that level, his acting style was more exaggerated, and even if Kang Xin talked himself hoarse, he couldn’t grasp what Kang Xin wanted.

Huang Zicheng also had similar issues to Xie Pinyuan.

Both of them lacked acting experience and often delivered some unexpected performances.

Every time Kang Xin called for a retake, Huang Zicheng’s face would turn as red as a monkey’s butt in embarrassment.

Zhou Yun generally wouldn’t discuss acting with Huang Zicheng.

In the newcomer stage, having one person guide you is enough, and that person is Kang Xin.

If several people talk at once, it would just confuse him.

Occasionally, Zhou Yun would give Huang Zicheng a couple of pointers, telling him what his mistakes were, but those were usually very basic errors.

When it came to character building and script understanding, Zhou Yun remained silent and let Huang Zicheng listen to Kang Xin.

After several days of retakes, Xie Pinyuan’s whole demeanor slumped.

Previously, he had only acted in idol dramas and was an actor heavily promoted by the platform. This was his first time shooting with a big production crew.

Xie Pinyuan had never been scrutinized like this before; there were issues with every take, leaving a psychological shadow on him.

Yet he couldn’t say anything, as Director Kang Xin held significant status. The platform had exerted enormous effort to get him into this project. Treasuring this opportunity wasn’t enough—he still dared to complain?

In one scene, Zhou Yun had to shoot with Xie Pinyuan.

Xie Pinyuan’s attitude was very earnest, as he said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, please guide me.”

It was the first time Zhou Yun cooperated with Xie Pinyuan; they hadn’t met before. She smiled and nodded, saying, ”Let’s guide each other.”

But once they started shooting, everyone was stunned.

The way Xie Pinyuan delivered his lines was like a robot reciting, with all his facial features seemingly out of place.

Zhou Yun was dumbfounded.

When it was her turn to deliver a line, she forgot to perform.

”Stop!” Kang Xin said, ”Let’s do it again!”

”Sorry.” Zhou Yun snapped back to her senses, took a deep breath, and apologized to the people present.
