Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1100: Chapter 627: The Truth (2)

Zhou Yun didn’t know what to say either.

She could only pat Wen Xi’s shoulder.

”Actually, Wen Xi, have you considered that the last time he wanted to meet face to face to discuss this, might he also have had the intention of getting back together with you?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Is he really getting married to someone else, or is he deliberately deceiving you?”

Wen Xi looked at Zhou Yun, puzzled.

Zhou Yun said, ”To be honest, that’s what I think. If you were really planning to marry someone else and form a new family, would you still go to your ex-husband’s house in the middle of the night just to tell him you were getting married?”

Wen Xi: ”...”

She was stunned.

Zhou Yun said, ”Judging by your expression, I’m guessing you definitely wouldn’t, right? For exes we don’t want to see, we usually avoid them; let alone when we’re about to marry someone else.”

Wen Xi’s eyes suddenly lit up.

”You mean he came to tell me this on purpose to provoke me? To see my reaction?”

Zhou Yun pondered for a moment and said, ”Not necessarily, I’m just saying it’s a possibility. Wen Xi, what I’m saying is, if he genuinely is getting married to someone else, then we should wish them well, as painful as it may be for ourselves. But if, as I suspect, he just found an excuse to provoke you, why don’t you take this opportunity to reassess your relationship?”

Wen Xi became quite spirited, eyes gleaming, and nodded immediately.

”I understand what you mean, I need to investigate a bit.”

Zhou Yun: ”But don’t act rashly. Your mutual friends are surely aware of your past relationship. Suddenly asking people to find out if he’s really marrying someone else could easily lead to misunderstandings that you’re not over him. If he’s not actually marrying someone else, that misunderstanding would be fine, but if he is, that’s not good. The misunderstanding could reach the ears of the other woman, making it seem like you’re not letting go. Your current status is too sensitive and could attract criticism.”

Wen Xi nodded and said, ”Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”

After the two finished talking, Wen Xi’s whole demeanor changed, developing a bit of fighting spirit.

Zhou Yun and Wen Xi returned to their seats. Song Chi softly asked Zhou Yun, ”Where did you two go just now? Why were you gone so long?”

”We went to the restroom and then chatted for a bit.” Zhou Yun didn’t explain in detail as she had promised Wen Xi not to share this matter.

Song Chi held Zhou Yun’s hand, ”Yao Yuanfeng just came looking for you.”

”Him?” Zhou Yun hadn’t seen him all night and didn’t know he was even here.

Song Chi said, ”He’s in another area, didn’t you know he was here?”

”Hmm.” Zhou Yun said, ”What did he want with me?”

Song Chi said, ”I don’t know, he didn’t say.”

Zhou Yun: ”Shouldn’t he be quite busy now? ’Two tigers’ is about to premiere; it’s his big project.”

Song Chi: ”Yes, all the Spring Festival slots have been allocated to it.”

”What about you? Do you have any movies being released this Spring Festival?” Zhou Yun asked curiously, ”If you do, the official announcement should be soon.”

With only about two months left for promotion, this period is quite important for a Spring Festival movie.

The Spring Festival has now become the biggest box office period of the year.

Song Chi said, ”I don’t have any movies scheduled for this Spring Festival, but I have a TV series premiering in February.”

”Hmm? Which one?”

”’Silent Ark,’” Song Chi said. ”It was filmed a year ago, and we just got the broadcasting license.”

”Ah, I remember this series; you acted with Yin Lin, right?” Zhou Yun said, ”At that time Yin Lin hadn’t won the Movie Queen award yet. This show really made a profit; having both leads as a Movie King and Movie Queen is hard to come by now.”

Yin Lin is the actress who shared the double Movie Queen award with Zhou Yun at the Lingjun Awards. Before winning this award, she wasn’t very well-known, a long-time actress who remained low-profile.

However, this didn’t stop her from playing the lead role. Her acting is excellent and has gained a lot of support within the industry.

Song Chi smiled, ”Unfortunately, I didn’t produce this series myself.”

”’Silent Ark’ is about medicine, right?” Zhou Yun had some recollection.

”Right.” Song Chi nodded. ”The script is exceptionally well-written; I’ve been trying to get the screenwriter, Zhu Wei, to write a new show, but he’s been traveling a lot this past year.”
