Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1115: Chapter 632: Holding Back (2)

It wasn’t until this moment that these actors, who had also come to film, suddenly realized that this actress, who they considered to already hold a high position, actually had an even higher status than they imagined.

Liu Jun had been quite attentive to Zhou Yun these past two days.

Knowing that Zhou Yun liked coffee, while the crew used to assign someone to buy coffee for her, in the past two days, Liu Jun somehow managed to bring in a coffee machine, grinding coffee on set every day and personally delivering it to Zhou Yun.

Wen Yuling had only worked with Zhou Yun in their last film. In that film, Zhou Yun had never acted so ”grandiose” on set, so much so that Wen Yuling always thought Zhou Yun was a very easygoing person who didn’t put on airs.

It was only these past two days that Wen Yuling realized that when Zhou Yun was about to lose her temper, no one could ignore it.

Even if that person represented the platform.

That afternoon, snow was gently falling, making the set very cold.

Zhou Yun, wrapped in a down jacket, sat in front of a small heater, rehearsing the script with Huang Zicheng and Chen Jing.

Huang Zicheng and Chen Jing were both as quiet as could be, usually quite honest and shy on set.

Zhou Yun would recite lines with them, occasionally pausing to communicate her thoughts.

Compared to Huang Zicheng, Chen Jing was a bit more assertive. He would discuss his ideas with Zhou Yun.

Huang Zicheng would basically just listen to whatever Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Yun also noticed this about Huang Zicheng, encouraging him to analyze and research a role on his own.

”When I’m not yet able to fully construct a character,” Zhou Yun said, ”I try to find some traits for my character. This helps me perform more accurately, so I don’t shift from one state to another.” She continued, ”Zicheng, when you’re happy, you just smile, and when you’re unhappy, you have a sullen face. That’s just state acting. You can think about this: Different people show happiness and unhappiness differently. Look at Chen Jing, does he laugh out loud when he’s happy like I do?”

Huang Zicheng shook his head, glanced at Chen Jing, and said: ”He usually just grins but doesn’t laugh out loud.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Now, look at Cheng Shenlv. What’s she like when she’s happy?”

Huang Zicheng hesitated, unsure of what to say.

Zhou Yun: ”Hmm?”

Huang Zicheng glanced at Cheng Shenlv not far away, who was talking to Jin Lin, laughing heartily and slapping her leg.

”A bit crazy.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but smile, nodding, ”Right, that’s exactly it. Do you get what I mean now? You need to give your character some traits. For example, is he as quiet as Chen Jing or as outgoing as Cheng Shenlv.”

Huang Zicheng suddenly understood and nodded, ”I got it.”

”Yeah, think about it,” Zhou Yun said, ”Of course, this thinking process is a long journey, not something you can master in a day or two. You mostly have to combine it with your own experiences and state. Everyone feels differently, and ultimately, act in a way that feels comfortable for you.”

Huang Zicheng murmured an acknowledgment.

Zhou Yun’s on-site teaching surprised Chen Jing.

Chen Jing was actually a young man with a lot of acting talent, which is why he could become a lead actor at a young age.

He wasn’t just a celebrity with mass appeal and not very famous, but he could take lead roles, partly because Ning Yao helped him with connections and partly due to his good acting skills.

What surprised Chen Jing was Zhou Yun’s attention to Huang Zicheng was actual on-set mentoring.

Having been filming for so long, Huang Zicheng still had no assistant, no driver, nor transportation service.

He basically had to take care of everything himself.

Chen Jing thought about himself. He had just signed his contract and hadn’t even started any projects, yet the company had already assigned an assistant to take care of his necessities.

Could it be that Zhou Yun didn’t value or pay attention to Huang Zicheng?

Clearly not.

Others might speculate that way, but Chen Jing witnessed Zhou Yun’s care and patience with Huang Zicheng.

Yet Zhou Yun didn’t provide Huang Zicheng with good conditions in other areas.

Of course, Huang Zicheng never complained.

In private, Chen Jing asked Huang Zicheng, ”Zicheng, why doesn’t your company provide you with an assistant and driver? Don’t you find it troublesome to handle everything on your own every day?”
