Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1118: Chapter 633: Blessed by Fortune_2

Cheng Shenlv noticed Jin Lin’s gaze and immediately sensed Jin Lin’s feelings for Huang Zicheng.

Girls can never hide those kinds of feelings.

Cheng Shenlv quietly asked Jin Lin, ”Do you have a crush on Huang Zicheng?”

Jin Lin asked in surprise, ”You can tell?”

Cheng Shenlv said, ”Your feelings are practically written all over your face.”

Jin Lin was shocked, ”No way?”

”Don’t be nervous. I only just noticed,” Cheng Shenlv said, ”But when did you start liking him? It seems pretty sudden.”

Jin Lin said, ”It’s not a big deal, just that he’s really handsome, exactly my type.”

”Hmm? Then why not Chen Jing?”

”Chen Jing is too delicate-looking. I prefer someone like Huang Zicheng. I heard he used to be an athlete,” Jin Lin shared the information she’d gathered with Cheng Shenlv, saying, ”Don’t you think Huang Zicheng is particularly charming?”

”If I found him particularly charming, I’d be your love rival,” Chen Shenlv said frankly, ”But if you like him, then just go and tell him; see if he feels the same way.”

”What? Just go and say it?” Jin Lin shook her head like a rattle, ”No way, it’s too embarrassing. I feel like he doesn’t have any thoughts like that about me.”

”Who can say for sure?” Cheng Shenlv said, ”But it’s up to you. If you want to say it, say it; if not, don’t. I just think cutting to the chase might be better, otherwise, you’ll keep dwelling on it, and the more you think about it, the harder it will be to move on.”

Jin Lin felt Cheng Shenlv made a good point.

She couldn’t help but feel a bit tempted.

Should she find a chance to talk to Huang Zicheng?

Just then, Huang Zicheng finished eating and got up with his plate, heading over to them.

Jin Lin’s face turned red, feeling a bit guilty.

”You’re done eating?” Cheng Shenlv greets him confidently.

Huang Zicheng nodded and asked, ”Did you just arrive?”

”Yes,” Cheng Shenlv glanced at Jin Lin and said, ”Do you have plans tonight?”

Huang Zicheng shook his head, ”I’m planning to stay in my room and practice lines.”

”How about going singing together?” Cheng Shenlv proposed.

Jin Lin looked at Huang Zicheng with anticipation.

Huang Zicheng shook his head, saying, ”I’m not good at singing, so I’ll skip it; you guys go ahead and have fun.”

After speaking, he nodded and left.

Cheng Shenlv looked at Jin Lin’s disappointed expression and said, ”Don’t let it show too much; very soon, everyone will know you like him.”

Jin Lin: ”Oh...”

...

At nine in the evening, Zhou Yun and Kang Xin rode back to the hotel together.

After chatting all evening, they finally ”patched things up” on both sides.

Chen Minghe consistently showed respect for them from beginning to end, which Zhou Yun found impressive and couldn’t argue with.

Whether genuine or staged, Chen Minghe didn’t display any ”air of superiority” that made Zhou Yun uncomfortable.

He didn’t come across as the boss of a video platform, spending the entire evening engaging in discussions about film and television, the platform’s development over the years, and his thoughts about the film and television industry.

This made Zhou Yun feel that Chen Minghe was someone who pondered quite a lot, possessing the aura of an intellectual.

This set Chen Minghe apart from the people at Yuehai Network.

The thing Zhou Yun disliked most about the Yuehai Network crowd was their constant chatter about hits, profits, and data.

While the film industry is indeed a business, talking about it purely as such reeks too much of commercialism. It’s not that Zhou Yun dislikes hearing about data and profits but rather the way Yuehai measures everything by numbers, elevating some while belittling others.

”Xiao Yun, I heard you’re creating quite a buzz in the United States for your award campaign, why haven’t you taken time off to participate in some PR activities over there?” Kang Xin suddenly asked.

Kang Xin, being a veteran director in the industry, was well aware that someone like Zhou Yun should be participating in a lot of PR activities if aiming for awards in the United States.

He brought it up to potentially address any reluctance Zhou Yun might have had in broaching the subject.

Zhou Yun said, ”No worries; I won’t win any awards anyway. Whether I go participate in PR is of little consequence. If I go, it’s just to meet more people—which I’ll have plenty of time to do when I go to shoot ’Killing Song’ at the end of next year. I’ll be spending a lot of time in the United States then, and if it’s just about meeting people, I can do it later. For now, I want to finish ’Chen Yin.’ I don’t like engaging in other work while filming; it greatly affects my acting state.”
