Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1138: Chapter 640: Black-on-Black

”Don’t worry, Sister Lan has already communicated with the organizers and the director of the event that night. They’ll issue a statement this evening to clear up the events of that night.”

Zhou Yun said to Song Chi.

”You shouldn’t pay attention to those voices online. In the future, you don’t need to speak up for me online. I have too many controversies around me, and there will always be people trying to smear me. If you explain for me once or twice, that’s fine, but if you do it every time, it’ll be too troublesome. I’ve told my friends the same thing: I conduct myself with integrity and I’m not afraid of people trying to smear me. As long as it’s not the truth, nothing can bring me down.”

Song Chi smiled, ”I haven’t even said anything yet, and you’re already hastily telling me not to mind your business? How could I possibly not care about your matters?”

Zhou Yun: ”That’s why I’m telling you, you need to stay rational, don’t get swayed by those online voices.”

”It’s not the online voices that have swayed me.”

”Hmm?”

”Seeing someone slander and curse you, I can’t remain rational and detached.”

Zhou Yun was slightly taken aback.

Song Chi said, ”Alright, let’s not talk about it now. I’ll call the event organizers and ask how they plan to release this statement. We’ll discuss it later.”

”Oh, okay.”

Song Chi hung up the phone.

Zhou Yun hung up the phone too, unable to hold back a smile, a sweetness she couldn’t quite hide.

In the evening, she went to the hotel gym to run.

After something like this happens, she doesn’t like to stay alone in the hotel, it’s easy to overthink, she’d rather go to the gym and burn some calories.

She didn’t expect to run into Yu Sitian at the gym.

Yu Sitian was running on the treadmill, wearing headphones, looking straight ahead.

Zhou Yun saw she didn’t notice her, so she didn’t greet her.

Between the two of them, there’s only a temporary truce, living peacefully without getting too close.

Suddenly, two female celebrities came into the gym, and others curiously took pictures, but no one dared to approach, probably a bit intimidated.

If not driven by fans’ idolizing mentality, most people seeing a celebrity artist usually just take a few extra glances out of curiosity.

Zhou Yun went to lift weights.

A young man came over to ask if she needed help.

Zhou Yun smiled and shook her head, saying, ”I’m okay on my own.”

The young man left.

Zhou Yun didn’t mind this kind of approach; it’s mutual consent, and once clearly refused, there was no more pestering.

After a while, while Zhou Yun was doing a glute bridge on a yoga mat, Yu Sitian came over.

She lay down beside her and asked, ”Aren’t you afraid you won’t be able to sleep coming to workout this late?”

”It’s alright, it’s not that late.” Zhou Yun replied.

”You’re more composed than I thought; people are gossiping fiercely about you outside, yet you can still work out in the gym so calmly.” Yu Sitian changed her position, kneeling on the yoga mat to take a slight rest, ”I heard Yao Xing has been saying bad things about you to many people in the industry in private, do you know that?”

”No, but it doesn’t matter.” Zhou Yun calmly glanced at Yu Sitian, ”Why are you telling me this?”

Yu Sitian: ”Ordinarily, I’d be quite happy to see you in trouble, but now that we’re filming the same movie, I don’t want you to negatively affect ’Chen Yin’.”

”Don’t worry, it won’t be affected, and you won’t waste your effort.” Zhou Yun said, ”This thing was baseless in the first place.”

”I know, I was there that day too, everyone knows what happened. However, don’t forget that it all started because the director gave you an extra line. Although we all know it was the director’s doing, some people will overthink it in private.” Yu Sitian said, ”You don’t surely think all the seniors are willing to make way for newcomers, giving their chances to the younger generation, do you?”

Zhou Yun: ”What are you trying to say?”

”I’m saying, your luck isn’t all that good.” Yu Sitian said, ”Don’t become a target; Yao Xing doesn’t have a great reputation, but she has a group of like-minded followers. If they team up to attack you, put some labels on you, it won’t be pleasant. No matter how many Movie Queen titles you have, not respecting seniors is still a heavy label in our country. Having it pinned on you is a big problem.”
