Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1120: Chapter 634: Supporting Roles and the Grand Ceremony

”No way, why should I still play a supporting role? Even if it’s a show starring Zhou Yun, I shouldn’t be playing supporting roles anymore, right?”

Feng Chaotian was immediately unwilling when his agent told him to fill in for ”Chen Yin,” especially in a small supporting role.

The agent said, ”This is Director Kang Xin, starring Zhou Yun.”

”So what? It’s not like they’re asking me to play the lead,” Feng Chaotian said. ”If it were a male lead, that’s one thing, but why are you asking me to play a supporting role? Why can Zuo Bin play the lead role right from the start, and what about me? He is so much more popular than me now just because his starting point was better than mine. Look, has he ever played a supporting role?”

”This is ’Chen Yin,’ a grand production where Yu Sitian, Chen Jing, and Cheng Shenlv are all happily playing supporting roles!” The agent said exasperatedly, ”Which of them doesn’t play lead roles outside? Do you think they play supporting roles for the fun of it? Is Zuo Bin more popular than them?”

Feng Chaotian hesitated upon hearing those names, saying, ”They are them, I am me. I’m not worse than them; if they’re willing to play supporting roles, that’s their business. I’m not willing. It’s not like I don’t have any roles to play.”

”You have roles, but with all those roles you’ve played, is there one character people remember?” the agent said. ”’Chen Yin’ is a definite hit show, watched by so many people. Even if you’re playing a supporting role, millions of viewers will see it. As long as you perform well and stand out, you can become popular just the same.”

”But it’s still just a supporting role,” Feng Chaotian said. ”I’ve said I don’t want to play supporting roles anymore. I’ve played supporting roles for so many years. Now finally, I have the chance to play a lead role, and you want me to go back to playing supporting roles.”

Feng Chaotian’s tone was full of resentment.

”You...”

The agent was a bit annoyed by Feng Chaotian’s stubborn attitude and wanted to scold him, but thinking of Feng’s sensitivity and temper, they managed to hold back their urge to criticize.

”So you don’t think it’s necessary to repair your relationship with Zhou Yun?” the agent asked.

”What’s there to repair? She does her Movie Queen thing, and I won’t have any interaction with her in the future,” Feng Chaotian said.

Previously in ”Falling Leaves,” Feng Chaotian was supposed to be in the film. But because he had the opportunity to play a lead role, he quit right before filming started, causing the film crew to scramble for a replacement, which ended up being Yin Zhou.

The agent had always remembered this incident and hoped to find an opportunity to mend the relationship with Zhou Yun.

After all, everyone works in the entertainment industry, bumping into each other is inevitable.

Although Feng Chaotian’s current works had nothing to do with Zhou Yun, there might be opportunities for collaboration in the future. If Zhou Yun had any discontent toward Feng Chaotian due to his past actions, it could adversely affect collaboration opportunities, which would be terrible.

But seeing Feng Chaotian’s indifferent attitude, the agent was a bit furious and didn’t want to say what they intended to.

The phone rang.

The agent glanced at the caller’s name and their face changed. They immediately went out to answer the call.

Feng Chaotian saw her go out and couldn’t help but sneer.

”You guys just treat Zhou Yun like a goddess. Do her shows definitely become hits? If it doesn’t become a hit, won’t I just be wasting my time?” Feng Chaotian sneered.

After a while, the agent returned.

”Alright, you don’t have to think about ’Chen Yin’ anymore. The show has nothing to do with you; they’ve already found another actor,” the agent said.

Feng Chaotian looked at her in surprise, asking, ”They found someone so quickly? Which little-known actor agreed?”

”Hehe, just a little more famous than you, Zuo Bin,” the agent said. ”The never-played-a-supporting-role Zuo Bin agreed to do it this time.”

After teasing Feng Chaotian, the agent promptly left.

Zuo Bin?

Feng Chaotian’s eyes immediately widened.

He couldn’t believe Zuo Bin actually agreed to make up for this. It’s unbelievable!

What was Zuo Bin thinking?

Feng Chaotian couldn’t understand this.

...

”Zuo Bin?”

Jin Lin widened her eyes in surprise, ”He actually agreed to help out?”

”Yes, apparently they offered him enough compensation for a third-rate role and promised him a first-rate lead role in a future drama. Only then did Zuo Bin agree,” Cheng Shenlv, who was well-informed, said. ”Earlier, Xie Pinyuan was replaced, and the person coming in to help must be reliable. Zuo Bin’s acting has always been well-regarded so having him come in for the third-rate role is also to ensure ’Chen Yin’ can proceed smoothly.”
