Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1107: Chapter 629: [Chen Yin] Gathering_3

”Sister Xiao Yun.” Chen Jing joined everyone in calling out.

Zhou Yun said, ”When did you join the team? I didn’t know you were already here.”

Chen Jing smiled shyly and said, ”I just arrived yesterday.”

”I see, no wonder I haven’t seen you.” Zhou Yun said, ”Have you lost a bit of weight since I last saw you?”

Chen Jing nodded and said, ”I lost a lot of weight playing a death row inmate in the last film, but I’ve just started to get back to my normal diet in the past few days.”

”You’re too thin now, you need to put some weight back on quickly.” Zhou Yun said, ”I was curious, weren’t your last two roles in movies? How come you’re doing a TV series now?”

Chen Jing said, ”Sister Ning Yao asked me to come and learn from you and Director Kang.”

Zhou Yun quickly waved her hand and said, ”Learning from me is secondary, you should mainly learn from Director Kang.”

”Yes, I’ll learn from both.” Chen Jing said.

He truly lived up to his name, coming across as fresh and reserved.

Zhou Yun smiled and asked, ”Have you met Director Kang yet?”

Chen Jing nodded and said, ”When I joined yesterday, my agent already took me to meet him.”

”Then hurry and toast Director Kang now.” Zhou Yun patted Chen Jing on the shoulder, ”We’ll chat more later.”

”Okay.” Chen Jing nodded seriously.

Zhou Yun watched Chen Jing head over to Kang Xin, and then she took her wine glass and went to Huang Zicheng.

Huang Zicheng saw Zhou Yun approaching and quickly stood up, calling out, ”Sister Xiao Yun.”

”Why is your face red?” Zhou Yun looked curiously at Huang Zicheng’s face and asked.

”I had a little to drink earlier.” Huang Zicheng said, ”I’m not good with alcohol.”

”You’re this flushed, how much did you drink?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Can you handle it?”

”It’s okay, just a little dizzy.” Huang Zicheng said.

Zhou Yun said, ”Then have some soup later and stop drinking.”

Huang Zicheng blinked and said, ”But I still need to toast the director later.”

”Ah, toasting the director is necessary.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”But aside from toasting the director, you shouldn’t drink anymore.”

Huang Zicheng said, ”I haven’t toasted you yet.”

”Oh, between us, there’s no need for formalities.” Zhou Yun slapped Huang Zicheng on the back, ”You don’t need to toast me, take this chance tonight to get to know everyone, don’t be too reserved.”

”Okay.” Huang Zicheng nodded.

Zhou Yun laughed, ”When we were filming ’Deep Sea,’ we didn’t have many scenes together, maybe just two or three? Let’s have more this time, let’s work hard together.”

”Okay.” Huang Zicheng nodded again.

Zhou Yun saw that there was no one around Jiang Yuzhen and said, ”Then you go toast the director later, I have something to discuss with someone else.”

”Alright.”

Zhou Yun went to Jiang Yuzhen and pulled her aside, speaking softly, ”Sister Yuzhen, I’ve already asked around about the matter you wanted me to check out.”

Previously, Jiang Yuzhen had asked Zhou Yun to help inquire about a U.S. show looking to cast her.

Jiang Yuzhen asked, ”How did it go?”

”The producer of that U.S. show is Swank Brussels, the series hasn’t been titled yet. The role they want you for is indeed a bit negative, it’s a somewhat deranged witch, very wild, but there’s no malicious stereotyping involved.” Zhou Yun relayed what she had found out, ”The role was originally designed for a European or American actor, but because Hollywood is currently emphasizing diversity, especially encouraging multi-ethnic casting, they’ve changed the role to an Asian character. The production side most prefers you for the role, though as you mentioned, they are also in contact with a Korean actress named Han Suli, not sure if you know her.”

”Ah, I know of her, she’s an impressive actress.” Jiang Yuzhen said, ”She’s won the Asia Pacific Movie Queen.”

”I’ve heard that a senior executive from the show’s production strongly recommends you.” Zhou Yun said, ”I looked into who this person is, can you guess who it is?”

Jiang Yuzhen looked confused.

”How am I supposed to guess... Ah!” Jiang Yuzhen suddenly remembered, ”Is it the foreigner who came to our set when we shot the first scene?”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”He specifically came to watch you act on-site.”

”But wasn’t he interested in ’Chen Yin’ and wanted to buy the overseas broadcasting rights for that show?”

”The production company that invited you and the one interested in buying ’Chen Yin’ belong to the same parent company.” Zhou Yun said, ”I recommend you continue discussing with them and make sure to contractually address your concerns, especially regarding ideological issues.”

Jiang Yuzhen nodded, ”Got it, Xiao Yun, thank you so much for helping me get this information.”

”No need to be formal with me, Sister Yuzhen.” Zhou Yun replied with a smile.
