Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1123: Chapter 635: Reap What You Sow

”It’s really the same people, different fates. We’re all standing here in line waiting, while Zhou Yun can already join those seniors in the first batch of filming.”

Nearby, Yang Xi, who recently caused a stir in the industry, sat on a chair and said somewhat discontentedly.

She glanced over and saw Wang Jing sitting not far away, smiled, and said, ”Wasn’t she in the United States before? How did she manage to come back so quickly?”

Lew Qingqing was sitting with Yang Xi.

She said, ”For this kind of event, wouldn’t you come back despite all odds from the United States?”

Yang Xi: ”That’s true.”

”What’s the matter? You seem bothered today. Who’s upset you now?”

”No one’s upset me, I just...” Yang Xi paused before continuing, ”I just feel a bit frustrated. You know, we’ve been in this industry for so long and acted in so many productions, yet we’re still in the same room with newbies like Wang Jing, while Zhou Yun and the others have moved on.”

Lew Qingqing chuckled softly.

”She’s a Movie Queen, and we’re not,” Lew Qingqing said. ”For events like this, the hierarchy is arranged as such, can we really ask them to change it?”

”But they can’t entirely disregard seniority, right?” Yang Xi pouted.

”Just say less. Look, even Yu Yhan and the others are sitting patiently in their seats, waiting.”

”Can she really be compared to us? If it weren’t for Qin Fu, she wouldn’t even be part of this event,” Yang Xi said.

Lew Qingqing didn’t respond further.

In reality, besides some complaints from Yang Xi, everyone else behaved obediently, waiting for the arrangements with no complaints at all.

They chatted, took photos, laughed and joked around merrily.

”Sister Qingqing, can I have a photo with you?” Yin Linglin suddenly came over and said to Lew Qingqing, ”I’ve been following your ’Heart Palpitating’ recently, your performance is amazing in it.”

Lew Qingqing smiled at the young girl and said, ”Sure.”

Yin Linglin took a photo with Lew Qingqing using her phone.

”Thank you, Sister Qingqing.”

”No need to be so formal with me, no need to thank me.”

...

When the official filming of the demo started, two groups proceeded one after another.

The official filming took place in a theater.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi participated in the first batch of filming, while Lew Qingqing and her group were in the second batch.

During the first batch of filming, Lew Qingqing and her group waited outside.

”Because time is tight and the task is heavy, please everyone cooperate more,” the on-site director said while giving instructions, showing no sign of treating these people as celebrities, directing them all equally.

Zhou Yun had one line, and Song Chi also had one line.

Because the two of them were the youngest, they got to say the first two lines.

According to the shooting plan, this was a one-shot, no-cuts scene.

There were a total of eight actors standing on stage.

The director arranged the placement for everyone, and after designing the camera moves, said, ”Everyone, bring your A-game. The veteran actors have their lines after yours, if you mess up too much, the veterans will have to keep waiting for you.”

Zhou Yun was puzzled, wondering who this person was, talking without any tact.

The director called for action.

The camera came in front of Zhou Yun.

...

The shooting went quite smoothly, everyone was an expert in acting, filming this kind of demo was a piece of cake.

After the shoot, Zhou Yun asked Song Chi, ”Who was that on-site director earlier? Do you know him? Why do I feel like he spoke in such a brusque manner?”

Song Chi said, ”That’s just his style. He’s from an acting family with his own circle; he tends to look down on those outside of it.”

”Oh, got it.”

An insider of the Royal Families of the system.

Zhou Yun instantly understood why he had such an attitude.

Song Chi said, ”After finishing the promo shoot, there’s a rehearsal in the afternoon, you have one too, right? I heard you have two performances.”

”Yes,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”A poetry recitation and a sketch performance. Luckily, it’s only a few lines, very simple, no need to memorize.”

Song Chi: ”It’s a live broadcast tonight.”

Zhou Yun: ”Really? But why are they suddenly organizing such an event? Is it held every year?”

Song Chi shook his head and said, ”I heard it’s something the new top executive wants to organize, supposedly to set a tone for the film industry with this event.”

”Uh.”

Song Chi: ”Just think of it as a new leader setting a new agenda. Besides, there are always such official events every year, if it’s not this gala, it’s some other function, there will always be one, so we just cooperate as much as possible.”
