Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1106: Chapter 629: ”Chen Yin” Cast Dinner (2)

Director Kang expressed with emotion, ”No wonder your acting skills have improved so rapidly in just a few years; your intuition and rationality both surprise me.”

”Thank you, Director.” Zhou Yun smiled, ”I don’t know if what I’m thinking is right or wrong, but I don’t have very high demands on myself. I often tell myself to let things happen naturally, and if I end up messing up the performance or the effect of the play is not as expected, it’s okay. I often console myself that as long as I’ve tried my best and delivered the best I can at that stage, I have no other regrets.”

Director Kang said, ”You can’t think that way; sometimes an actor needs to have a certain stubbornness to bring out the flavor. Being too natural isn’t good either.”

Zhou Yun laughed twice, saying okay.

On Jiang Yuzhen’s last day of shooting, the crew specially arranged a dinner to bid farewell to Jiang Yuzhen, and also to welcome other actors who had joined the group, gathering together for a meal.

Jiang Yuzhen’s eyes turned red.

”I really didn’t expect that after just twenty days of filming, I would feel a sense of reluctance.” Jiang Yuzhen, during her speech, raised her glass and seriously said to the actors present, ”You are all great actors, and I want to tell you, you must cherish the time of filming with Director Kang Xin. Although I’m at this age, during these twenty days I often felt my shortcomings and realized there are still many areas for improvement. You all should perform well and learn from Director Kang; you will learn things that will benefit you throughout your life.”

Director Kang Xin felt particularly embarrassed and waved a hand, saying, ”Yuzhen, don’t say that, I’m not that capable.”

”Sister Yuzhen is right, I feel the same way.” Zhou Yun picked up a glass, smiling as she said, ”However, I’m a bit luckier than everyone else because in this play I had many scenes opposite Sister Yuzhen. Acting opposite her was exhilarating. Previously, when I was acting in ’Heart Inquiry’, there weren’t many scenes opposite Sister Yuzhen. This time I finally got a taste, and I hope I will have another opportunity soon to experience it again.”

Everyone cheered in support.

Jiang Yuzhen gave Zhou Yun a playful glance with a smile.

Yu Sitian’s eyes sparkled, saying, ”These days I’ve been watching you act on-site, and Sister Yuzhen, I really hope I can have your level of acting skill in the future. You’re my idol, I salute you!”

Other actors followed suit, raising their glasses.

”Let’s all toast to Sister Yuzhen!”

Jiang Yuzhen, smiling, drank the wine in her glass at once, with her joy reflected in her eyes.

She was truly happy tonight.

Later on, people stopped paying attention to formal table etiquette and began private toasts and conversations.

Huang Zicheng also joined the group, sitting at another table.

Zhou Yun noticed him sitting somewhat reserved in the middle of the crowd, not really blending into the atmosphere of that table.

Actually, the two young men Zhou Lan signed, Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting, are both liked by Zhou Yun. She is used to seeing those in the entertainment circle who try every possible way to ingratiate themselves with you and strengthen relationships; these two young men have been under Zhou Lan’s wing for so long and never proactively mentioned her in front of the media, even though doing so would give them more exposure and opportunities to be seen by more people.

Zhou Yun could easily imagine, if Xu Siyao were sitting here today, she would have already found an excuse to come over and greet her, and then take the opportunity to get closer to Director Kang and Jiang Yuzhen.

”Sister Xiao Yun, it’s a great honor to act with you again this time.” Cheng Shenlv’s voice suddenly interrupted Zhou Yun’s daze.

Zhou Yun looked at the beautiful young girl in front of her and smiled.

Cheng Shenlv had worked with her on the drama ’Under the Grand Dress’ just half a year ago.

”Long time no see,” Zhou Yun said.

Cheng Shenlv held the glass with both hands, saying, ”I salute you.”

Several other young people saw Cheng Shenlv toasting Zhou Yun and came over with their glasses too.

The last one to come over was Chen Jing.

His appearance in ’Chen Yin’ indeed surprised Zhou Yun.

He is not an unknown figure, backed by Ning Yao, having previously starred in several dramas like ’Mother and Son Inn’, and when Song Chi couldn’t act in ’Balcony’ due to a fracture, he replaced Song Chi in the film. It can be said that, whether in TV dramas or films, he didn’t lack leading roles to play. Yet he decided to act in ’Chen Yin’, and as a supporting role at that.
