Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1132: Chapter 638: So Late at Night

Jin Lin was a bit hesitant about whether she should confess to Huang Zicheng.

If you like someone, confess generously. This is something often said on the internet.

But in reality, it’s naturally not that simple.

Not everyone has the courage to face the disappointment of a hope being shattered.

”What if Huang Zicheng already has a girlfriend?” Jin Lin often talked about her worries when chatting with her best friend, ”What if he doesn’t like me? Sigh, I really don’t know what to do.”

Her best friend said, ”You don’t need to confess right away, just make the first move to get to know him better. Invite him out for a meal or some fun. You’re both in the same film crew, in this small town, with the perfect timing and setting. What are you hesitating for?”

Jin Lin said, ”But I’m worried he’ll reject me. You don’t know, he never joins when we organize activities or anything.”

”Then there’s nothing you can do.”

”Sigh.”

”But no matter how things change, the fundamentals remain the same, Linlin. Either he’s interested in you, or he’s not. You just have to make him interested without making it too obvious. If the confession fails, it’ll be awkward seeing each other every day in the crew. Just test the waters and see his attitude. If it’s positive, there’s potential; if he clearly shows he’s not interested, then let it go.”

”It’s so hard.”

”Hard? If it’s hard for you, a celebrity, what about us ordinary girls?”

Jin Lin hung up the phone, hesitated for a long time, and finally decided to take her best friend’s advice.

No matter what, just invite Huang Zicheng out first.

She searched online for suitable restaurants in the city, preferably a place with some style but very private.

She quickly found a target restaurant.

Suppressing her slightly excited mood, Jin Lin edited a message for a long time before sending it to Huang Zicheng: Do you have time tonight? I have something I’d like to discuss with you in person, if that’s okay?

Then she sent him the address link.

After sending it, Jin Lin threw her phone onto the bed, feeling incredibly nervous.

She didn’t know if Huang Zicheng would agree.

About five minutes later, Huang Zicheng replied: Sure.

Jin Lin let out an excited squeal.

Success!

Jin Lin immediately started to worry about what to wear for the evening.

Sigh, the weather is so cold, I can’t wear anything nice that shows off my figure.

...

Zhou Yun took a sip of hot water and yawned.

”Sister Xiao Yun, are you sleepy?” Zheng Xiaojue asked.

Zhou Yun nodded, ”A little sleepy.”

Zheng Xiaojue asked, ”Is it because we’ve been in the room for so long, with no ventilation making it stuffy?”

”Maybe,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I feel stuffy.”

”How about we go outside for some fresh air?” Zheng Xiaojue suggested, ”Anyway, the next scene won’t start shooting for a while.”

Zhou Yun nodded in agreement.

They went out of the film set and came to the corridor outside.

The corridor was a bit shabby and dusty, marked by genuine signs of time.

Zhou Yun shoved her hands in her pockets and looked at the dusty sky outside the corridor, a sky that seemed to be sprinkled with coal dust, like frozen cotton batting suspended over the city, with a vague sense of eternity.

”Times like this, a drink would be nice,” Zhou Yun laughed, ”A little drink to warm up.”

Zheng Xiaojue asked, ”Shall I get some? There’s a bottle of whiskey in the car.”

”Better not. We’re working. It wouldn’t look good if someone saw us,” Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t want to see myself trending for drinking tomorrow.”

Zheng Xiaojue laughed, her eyes curving into a smile.

”That wouldn’t be good.”

Though it was cold outside, Zhou Yun felt comfortable.

In the middle of winter, as long as you’re dressed warmly and not standing in the wind, stepping out to get some fresh air is quite refreshing.

The two of them were talking when staff from the crew passed by.

Suddenly, they heard an ”ouch.”

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue turned around to see Wen Yuling had somehow fallen to the ground, looking embarrassed and in pain.

”Sister Yuling!”

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue quickly went to help Wen Yuling up.

”Sister Yuling, are you okay?” Zhou Yun carefully helped her up, ”Take it slow. I’ll help you inside to sit, and we’ll find someone to take a look.”
