Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1127: Chapter 636: Find a Time to Register the Marriage (2)

”Knowing you have so many movies to shoot, I can rest assured.”

”Why?”

”Because we were worried you’d retire after winning so many awards.”

”Haha, no way,” Zhou Yun said. ”I still have a great curiosity and passion for acting.”

After the interview, Zhou Yun returned to the scene. An hour later, she needed to participate in another performance.

At events like this, no one looks at their phones, fearing that a moment of distraction would be caught on camera, leaked in the live broadcast, and criticized.

Zhou Yun’s seat was arranged next to Song Chi.

Song Chi whispered, ”I’m going on stage in a bit.”

”Mm,” Zhou Yun nodded and smiled at him, ”How was my poetry recitation just now?”

”Quite good.”

”Ah, at first, I thought it was quite good too, but after hearing Chen Qiran and the others, I felt inferior.”

”They have decades of experience with lines that we can’t compare to,” Song Chi said. ”You’re already great.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

When it was time for the skit they were both in to go on, they went backstage to prepare.

The skit involved sixteen actors, quite a few.

Zhou Yun changed into costume and met Song Chi.

In military attire, Song Chi looked more upright and spirited.

Zhou Yun’s lines were simple; she was to play a wife bidding farewell to her husband.

She began to build up her emotions.

When the spotlight hit her, her eyes were already brimming with tears.

With tearful eyes, she looked at Song Chi and said, ”Stay safe, come back safely.”

After she finished, she reached out her right hand to touch Song Chi’s cheek, smiled and pursed her lips, and a stream of tears fell instantly.

Song Chi held her tightly in his arms.

...

The live broadcast’s comment section exploded all of a sudden.

Zhou Yun’s tears made people’s hearts ache.

Song Chi’s embrace was touching.

A blogger sighed: This is the top-tier talent of the young generation of Chinese male and female actors.

This sentiment was echoed by many.

Mainly because there was no prior introduction, no explanation of their story background, just a part of a skit that lasted less than ten seconds, yet it moved people to their core.

This relied entirely on the power of their performance.

Fans of Zhou Yun and Song Chi extracted this ten-second performance to make it into GIFs for easy sharing online.

Both groups of fans were already skilled at creating these materials.

...

”Zhou Yun and Song Chi’s acting is indeed impressive.”

In the director’s command room, the assistant director sighed.

The chief director hummed in response, watching the monitor, and said, ”If they didn’t have this level of acting, their fame would be for nothing.”

”These two are something else, even becoming a couple.”

”What’s the big deal?”

”Isn’t it often said that two strong-willed people can’t be together? Each has their own circle, and if they can’t run a business together, isn’t it easy to clash? Especially since each has signed a batch of newcomers, they’ll definitely compete for resources.”

”That’s their business, how they coordinate is their matter,” the chief director said. ”To me, as long as they don’t mess around, they can run two businesses, stay together and break up, get married and divorce.”

”Director, do you not think well of them?”

”I’m not dismissing them,” the chief director said. ”I just don’t care whether they stay together or not. It doesn’t affect their ability to keep acting in this industry.”

”Alright, it’s still Director who sees it clearly.”

...

”Hmph!”

Yao Xing heard someone nearby quietly praising Zhou Yun and Song Chi’s excellent performance, and her face immediately turned cold.

She thought to herself, just shedding a few tears and it’s called an excellent performance?

Yao Xing has been feeling somewhat unwilling these past few years.

As a bona fide Movie Queen and TV Queen, she hasn’t received any main roles in recent years.

How could she not be unwilling?

The roles offered were either to play a mother, a villain, or some stereotypical supporting character. How could Yao Xing be willing to play roles she used to disdain?

In recent years, she wasn’t lacking in popularity. She appeared on several variety shows as a mentor, a guest, and had high levels of discussion.
