Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1142: Chapter 641: Official Statement (Part 2)

This feeling is very special.

Zhou Yun has always been calm and independent. When encountering anything, her first reaction is to rely on herself to solve it or to endure it, rather than seeking help from others.

Even with Song Chi, her first reaction is to hope that Song Chi stays out of it and doesn’t get involved.

She is afraid that her issues might implicate innocent people and leave a negative impact on them.

However, the more people like this, when they receive unexpected warmth, the more touched they are.

At nine in the evening, the organizers of the event finally issued a statement on their official Weibo.

The content of the statement was somewhat different from what Zhou Lan mentioned.

The content... Is it challenging Yao Xing?!

The statement’s summary is as follows:

First, it’s true that a certain performance guest was scheduled to participate in the poetry recitation segment. However, due to disagreements between the directors and the performer during rehearsals, to ensure the live broadcast effect of the evening’s program, the director team could only first choose to have the guest with inconsistent opinions not participate in this performance. The director team sincerely apologizes for the rehearsal time that was wasted for this performer.

Second, throughout the entire rehearsal process, Zhou Yun cooperated fully, without any disrespect to the seniors or non-cooperation with the program’s arrangements. In fact, Miss Zhou Yun was filming in a production when the program group first invited her. Miss Zhou Yun initially declined. However, after the program group communicated the major significance of this event with Miss Zhou Yun’s team, she overcame all difficulties and took a leave from the crew to participate in the event. As a result of this event, she faced a lot of unfavorable public opinion pressure, for which the director team also expresses sincere apologies.

Third, a live broadcast event requires the cooperation of hundreds of people both in front and behind the scenes. For a major event, it is even more important not to make mistakes and must accurately showcase the best side of the current film industry. Therefore, any decision made by the director team must prioritize ensuring the live broadcast effect of the evening, and we ask for everyone’s understanding.

...

This statement covered everything except Yao Xing’s name, using ”a certain performance guest” instead.

Zhou Yun was amazed.

Zhou Lan was equally amazed.

The organizers actually pointed out Yao Xing’s non-cooperation with the director team so directly?

Why is that?

Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan were each puzzled over the phone, neither knowing what was going on.

However, this statement strongly slapped that gossip account in the face.

The public opinion instantly changed.

The haters, who couldn’t be suppressed before, suddenly vanished as if they had never existed.

The speed of disappearance left Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan dumbfounded.

”Looks like someone was afraid of being caught. As soon as the officials got involved, they immediately ran away.” Zhou Lan said mockingly, ”Xiao Yun, do you think Su Yan took advantage of the situation and hired internet trolls to smear us this time?”

”Is that even a question?” Zhou Yun curled her lips, ”When hasn’t she gotten involved?”

”Wouldn’t her money for hiring trolls be better spent on charity? It’s wasted every time, with no actual return, just for a thrill.” Zhou Lan said.

Zhou Yun: ”I really can’t understand her behavior. You’d think since ’Linjiang Immortal’ is airing so well, and she’s at the peak of her popularity, she’d seize this time to pursue better roles. Why is she still going on variety shows? I saw on Weibo today that she’s about to record a variety show as a regular guest.”

”Do you think everyone is like you, single-mindedly focusing on shooting in a production team?” Zhou Lan said, ”She’s recording a variety show, twelve episodes, each recording only takes one to three days. In total, it’s just one or two months, and she directly earns a salary of over ten million. It’s much faster than making money from acting, and easier too.”

Zhou Yun: ”Doesn’t she want to go further?”

”It depends on her choice. Now that ’Linjiang Immortal’ is popular, her popularity and heat are at their peak. The variety show appearance fee might even double. If she takes on a role, joins a crew, this sudden popularity and heat will be wasted, not being able to be converted into tangible benefits. It’s better to make more money during this time. Many people think this way,” Zhou Lan said, ”Do you know the biggest difference between you and her? Your salary isn’t fixed. She might earn ten to twenty million from ’Linjiang Immortal,’ but if she chooses a less commercial project, the platforms might not buy it, and the pay could be just a third. Movies are even more uncertain. What’s the most valued aspect about you now? No matter what genre you act in, whether TV series or movies, they all become hits, making a lot of money for the producers. Even artistic films like ’Life’ and ’Behind the Scenes’ can earn billions in box office, filling the pot. Whether you act in suspenseful crime films like ’Chen Yin’ or workplace fashion dramas like ’Under the Grand Dress,’ or life suspense films like ’Deep Sea,’ platforms and advertisers all buy them. Your remuneration remains consistently high, without any discounts. Even in those latest TV series, you can continue to receive dividends.”
