Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1148: Chapter 643: Kang Xin’s Recommendation (Part 2)

Too difficult.

The production process of TV dramas in Europe and America is very different from that in China.

Kang Xin may not be able to adapt.

Zhou Yun said, ”I’m really looking forward to the results that ’Chen Yin’ will achieve after it airs.”

’Chen Yin’ is a suspense crime film, a genre that is accepted worldwide.

Without the limitations of the genre, can it overcome the cultural barriers that have previously hindered Chinese dramas from going abroad and gain the favor of people in other countries?

After filming, Zhou Yun went to the gym to work out, listening to the news with headphones on.

Zhang Hongyu’s ’Mother’ has already entered the top three in viewership ratings, reaching the expected results for this drama. Simultaneously, the online streaming data is also quite good, earning praise from many professional media. Moreover, a Japanese TV station has bought the broadcasting rights for ’Mother’ and plans to broadcast it in the first quarter of next year.

The later storyline of ’Linjiang Immortal’, starring Su Yan and Xu Siyao, has sparked controversy, and audience reviews have significantly declined mainly because the plot has become bewildering and the character settings have somewhat collapsed. Many people began to criticize the show online for starting strong but falling apart, calling it disgusting. However, these negative voices haven’t affected the show’s broadcast results; the ratings continue to rise and have already surpassed 1.6, with online views exceeding a billion for consecutive days.

It’s rumored online that Xu Siyao will star in a new series from Chestnut Video.

Thanks to the popular airing of ’Heart Palpitating’, Lew Qingqing returned to the forefront, appearing on the cover of one of the top five major fashion magazines, Bazaar, for the first time in two years but faced considerable user backlash.

A Korean streaming service has purchased the broadcasting rights for ’Dragon Ascending’, which will be aired in the first quarter of next year.

...

Zhou Yun slowed down the treadmill and took off her headphones.

Sweat had already soaked through her quick-dry clothes.

Her face was slightly flushed, and sweat was dripping down.

”Hi, Sister Xiao Yun.” Cheng Shenlv suddenly came to the empty treadmill next to her and turned to her with a bright smile.

”Hi.” Zhou Yun nodded at Cheng Shenlv, ”Still running so late?”

She was already done and ready to leave.

Cheng Shenlv said, ”I just got back with Jin Lin, ate a bit too much tonight, need to work it off, or it’ll turn into fat.”

Zhou Yun chuckled.

”Do you need something from me? If not, I’m about to head back.” Zhou Yun put her hands on her hips and walked slowly on the treadmill, saying, ”I’ve already finished my run.”

Cheng Shenlv hesitated slightly and said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, I’d like to ask you for a favor.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Go ahead.”

Only then did Cheng Shenlv say, ”I heard Director Lan is preparing a new TV series. I don’t know the director, but since you know him and have worked with him, I’d like to ask you to introduce me.”

After hearing Cheng Shenlv’s request, Zhou Yun didn’t hesitate and nodded, saying, ”That’s no problem. You intend to recommend yourself to Director Cong?”

Cheng Shenlv nodded, saying, ”I heard Director Cong’s new drama is about the stories of several young people, and I want him to get to know me.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Director Cong is a very strict director.”

”I know, I’ve heard.” Cheng Shenlv said, ”But I’m not afraid of a strict director.”

”Alright.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I’ll give Director Cong a call and see when would be convenient.”

”Thank you, Sister Xiao Yun.” Cheng Shenlv said gratefully to Zhou Yun.

”You’re welcome.” Zhou Yun stopped the treadmill and walked slowly until it came to a complete stop. She said, ”I’ll head back to my room first.”

After taking a shower, Zhou Yun glanced at the time; it was nine o’clock in the evening.

At this time, she didn’t know if Director Cong Lan was asleep yet.

She sent Director Cong Lan a message: Director, are you asleep?

Director Cong Lan replied: Editing footage right now.

Zhou Yun: Then you go ahead, I’ll contact you tomorrow.

Director Cong Lan immediately called back.

”I was just getting a bit cross-eyed from watching.” Director Cong Lan sighed, ”Are you looking for me?”

Zhou Yun: ”Yes, there’s an actor I’m currently working with, named Cheng Shenlv. Do you know her?”

”I think I’ve heard of her but can’t remember clearly. What’s up?”

”She told me she’s heard you’re preparing a new drama about several young people and asked me to help introduce her to you,” Zhou Yun said, ”I’ve worked with her in two shows already, and she’s indeed quite skilled, so I agreed to help her out. Director, would you be interested in learning about her?”
