Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1129: Chapter 637: The Meaning of an Idol

Chen Jing widened his eyes.

He suddenly felt a bit uneasy, like sitting on pins and needles.

Is this something he should be hearing?

M-m-m-marriage?

This fast?!

Isn’t the pace a bit too fast!

No matter the pace, the key is, why did Song Chi and Zhou Yun talk about this without hesitating in front of him?

Is he really that trustworthy?

A warm feeling of being believed in rose in Chen Jing’s heart.

If this news leaked, the entertainment circle would explode.

Song Chi and Zhou Yun’s fans would probably crash the Weibo server.

...

The three of them returned to the set, it was already late at night.

They each went back to rest, and the next morning, there were no scenes scheduled for them, allowing them to sleep in a bit.

But Zhou Yun still woke up at eight the next day.

She went to the gym and worked out for an hour, took a shower in her room, and headed to the set refreshed.

Zhou Lan messaged her, saying that a film magazine from the United States wanted to interview her, and there was an event that wanted to connect with her live.

With Zhou Yun’s Golden Ball nomination, the mainstream media in the United States finally started to pay attention to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun naturally cooperated.

Actually, quite a few American magazines had sent cover shoot invitations to Zhou Yun, but since Zhou Yun was in China, not the United States, many collaborations couldn’t proceed.

Zhou Lan kept suggesting they come to China for the shoot.

But the magazines seemed hesitant about coming to China for shoots, none agreed.

Zhou Lan didn’t push, just offered a constructive suggestion.

She arrived at the set.

Director Kang Xin was adjusting the set scenery, dissatisfied with what the set design team created, when he looked up and saw Zhou Yun, a bit surprised: ”Why are you here now? You don’t have any scenes scheduled in the morning?”

Zhou Yun said: ”I came early to prepare, to get into the mood.”

Kang Xin shook his head in admiration: ”I really don’t know what to say, I specifically arranged for you to sleep in a bit this morning.”

”Slept, slept really well, I even went to work out,” Zhou Yun said, ”Besides, there’s nothing to do at the hotel anyway.”

Kang Xin said: ”Since you’re here, help me check the set.”

Zhou Yun then began inspecting with Kang Xin.

This was a new set.

A coffee shop.

The crew built the set indoors, as it would be used frequently. If they borrowed an actual café, it would be costly and easily disrupted by onlookers, better to build their own set.

The upcoming scene involved Huang Zicheng and two other actors.

Kang Xin had a habit, if actors were present, he would discuss the set with them, explaining his vision for it as they looked at it.

The set is three-dimensional, but it’s static.

What brings the set to life is the people.

Kang Xin often expressed a viewpoint, actors need to establish a connection with their environment, for example, a hostess behaves differently in her own home than in someone else’s, her energy is different too.

”When shooting every scene, you have to be clear about your relationship with the environment. What are you here for? Why are you in this place?” Kang Xin said, ”For instance, a coffee shop, Zicheng, did you accidentally push the door open and walk in, or is this a shop you come to regularly? Are you here to meet someone today, or do you just want to drink coffee alone? This has to be internalized, only then will you not seem lost in front of the camera, or just a line-reciting machine. Everyone’s understanding of acting varies, but regardless of the approach, the goal is the same, you need to make us, the audience, believe in your existence, believe you are that person.”

This is what fascinates actors with Director Kang Xin, and why Cheng Shenlv, Chen Jing, and Yu Sitian are willing to play supporting roles.

Playing a supporting role in a famous director’s film isn’t disgraceful, it’s sensible, plus, they gain a lot of growth.

More practically speaking, starring in a renowned director’s film makes it easier to receive award nominations.

Regardless of the reason, for actors, this opportunity is filled with security and hope.

This mindset greatly benefits actors.

...

At noon, everyone had lunch together, just box lunches, gathered around a table.

Someone was curious about last night’s event, asked Zhou Yun for some information, and Zhou Yun answered everything she knew.
