My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2151: Chapter 1984: The Future

Face all the storms calmly, one day you will make a name for yourself.

Old Master Zhang saw his grandson running out, and suddenly a bad premonition arose in his mind. He saw his grandson, whose face was devoid of any color, running out, and he knew this would definitely not turn out well.

”What are you two standing there for? Hurry up and go chase your son! Do you really want to see him get into trouble?” Old Master Zhang shouted loudly at Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing. The cause of the whole matter was originally between the two of them, yet they did not want to chase their son, and this made him, as a grandfather, feel terribly uncomfortable.

”I’ll go after him right away. You stay here, sit here, don’t run around, and wait for me to come back!”

After Zhang Zhentian finished speaking to his father, he turned and ran out. He also had a bad feeling; he did not want his son to get hurt because of him. If that happened, he would never forgive himself.

Zhang Yichen drove quickly to the place where the woman he loved had fallen off the cliff.

Zhang Zhentian chased frantically from behind, running desperately, but he just couldn’t catch up to his son’s speed. He knew now that he had really angered his most beloved son, Zhang Yichen, who was driving at full speed.

Ten minutes later, Zhang Zhentian finally caught up with his son. Looking at the place where Ran Zhihan had fallen off the cliff earlier, his unease intensified.

”Yichen, listen to your dad, don’t act impulsively. Hurry over here, where you’re standing is too dangerous. Come over, and we can talk things over, alright?” Zhang Zhentian pleaded. He didn’t want his son to lose his precious life because of his momentary mistake.

”Do you even care about whether I live or die?”

”Silly child, you are my son. How could I not care about your life or death? I would rather suffer myself than see you hurt even a little. Why can’t you understand your father’s painstaking efforts?”

”Because I am your son, you care about me, due to my identity. But since my girlfriend isn’t your daughter, you don’t care about her life, do you? How can you be so selfish? Only now do I really realize, you are not as selfish as I imagined, but more so than I ever thought. Your selfishness has harmed so many people, causing me to lose lifelong happiness. Are you still not satisfied? In your hearts, is my happiness so insignificant? What I want isn’t much; I just hope my parents and my beloved woman can accompany me, so I can see my parents happily every day and my girlfriend living safely with my parents. That would be enough for me. But you, what were you thinking? You only thought about how to gain the greatest benefit, how to harm my girlfriend, how to deal with me as your son, is that right? It’s said that parents’ love is the deepest in the world, but I really don’t know what kind of heart you have as parents. Do you hope for me, as your son, to be happy and joyful throughout my life or do you want me to endure pain? Do you know? When I saw her push my beloved woman off the cliff before my eyes, I knew our relationship couldn’t be repaired anymore. Because her harm made me completely lose Zhihan, I once believed that as long as my beloved woman and I chose to generously forgive all the mistakes you made, we could receive your genuine blessings. But I found I was wrong. This thought was wrong from the beginning. How could you cruel people possibly choose to bless us because of our forgiveness? You only care about your greatest interests, while my lifelong happiness means nothing to you!

Zhang Zhentian didn’t expect his son would say something so heavy. He didn’t believe his son could say such things.

”Yichen, how could you say that about your mom and me? Even if we’ve made too many mistakes, knowing how to change is the biggest transformation, isn’t it? In your eyes, as long as we’ve done wrong, no matter how much we’ve changed, you won’t see it, will you? Do you know your mom and I have sacrificed so much for you to live a happy life, yet you? Do you just ignore all of it?” Zhang Zhentian said to Zhang Yichen.

Zhang Yichen found it extremely amusing; it turns out his dad was so narcissistic?

”You’re wrong, it’s not that I ignore your efforts and sacrifices, but that you ignore the feelings between him and me. You always think that whatever decision you make, we must follow your opinions. But you never think about what I really need. You don’t understand my happiness. How can you expect me to live a happy life my whole life? I wish so much that when you do things, you could consider things more from my perspective as your son, then I would be grateful and thank the heavens. But you never did, not once. Is it that I must follow your wishes for any decision you make?”

”Child, don’t act impulsively. Come over here, and let’s talk things over slowly, okay? Once we thoroughly understand each other, maybe you won’t think this way!” Zhang Zhentian still hoped to call his son over.

”Dad, I think I’ve said everything we should have said and everything we can say between us today. Today, I will tell you that I will go and die with the woman I love. I don’t want to live alone in this world anymore; that would be too cruel for me. Witnessing my beloved woman die in front of me, while being powerless to do anything, do you know the feeling of helplessness? I don’t want to experience that heartache and helplessness again, so I can only choose to follow her. Only then can you be completely at ease, and won’t harm any virtuous daughters because of my matters anymore. You are my biological father; when you got together with my mom, I believed you, despite my grandfather’s opposition. You’ve gone through many difficult choices, and I believe you can understand that feeling. Could you bear to let your son experience the same feelings you once did? Do you know the feeling I experience now is tenfold, hundredfold, a thousandfold more painful than yours ever was? At least you can still live with my mom, but I? I don’t even have the chance to live with the woman I love. Do you know how much pain I have in my heart? But I can’t say anything because I’m a man, a man of strength and courage. I’m a world economic emperor; I cannot let everyone look down on me. I can’t let everyone see me as weak. I can only choose to appear as if everyone supports me and continue with my work. Because I believe, one day, everyone will see my hard work and respect me for my efforts. But now I’m tired, and I want to take a good rest...”

After finishing, Zhang Yichen stepped back toward the cliff. He intended to jump.

Zhang Zhentian panicked, looking at the endless cliff behind, he became afraid.

”Don’t act impulsively...”

”Please take care of Grandpa for me, don’t let him get hurt due to your relationship, I beg you...”

Zhang Yichen jumped.

”Yichen...”

Even if the pain rendered breathing impossible, what was this bit of heartache compared to all the grievances?
