My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2181: Chapter 2014: Living in Fear

No matter who it is, everyone hopes to travel the world with their beloved. It’s not just a journey, but a happiness.

In fact, Xia Jing just wanted to tell her husband that she wanted to accompany him on a world tour because such moments are truly rare.

She had already missed so many good times before, always thinking about how to complete the tasks within her organization during that period.

But she forgot that she was also a woman who needed to experience the life that many women yearn for. Why was she so willful again and again? Why did she keep dragging others into her own scars time and again?

Watching Zhang Zhentian flee in a panic, she couldn’t help but reflect on herself.

What kind of harm had she caused her husband to make him so afraid, to the point of fleeing without giving her a chance to speak a word?

Seeing her husband like this, her heart could not bear it, but some things she truly could not solve. Those things were the result of her own steps. Since she initially chose this path, why should she repeatedly reflect on it? If she were to abandon her chosen path, wouldn’t her efforts be wasted? How would she be different from those who give up halfway?

When Zhang Yichen happened to pass by, he saw his father fleeing and running out of the bedroom. He didn’t understand what had happened. His first reaction was that his mother had bullied his father again, and once again, his father suffered in silence, quietly walking away.

But this wasn’t what he imagined. This time, his father was too cowardly to face his mother and hear that sentence. If he had stood in front of his mother to hear it, he might have been very excited and possibly embraced his wife warmly, but he chose to escape.

”Dad, what happened? Why did I see you rushing out of the bedroom? Did something happen? Did mom say something to you again, or did she kick you out again?

I don’t know what attitude you have towards my mom, but no matter what, you shouldn’t indulge her like this. Why can’t you muster the courage of a man to convince her after she repeatedly does these things to you?

If it’s true that mom kicked you out, don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get justice. I can’t believe she can treat you like this. What does she take you for? Are you really a man? Show some basic guts as a man, okay?”

”Shut up! No matter what, she is your mother, and you have no right to talk about or criticize her!

She worked hard to bring you into this world, which is her greatest gift to you. So why do you keep criticizing her? Today, I’m the one who’s afraid she’ll reject me, so I fled. It was my own lack of responsibility as a man. Why do you blame your mother for kicking me out? By intervening repeatedly, are you not making things difficult for me?”

Zhang Yichen was stunned. He hadn’t expected this time it was his father’s fault. He hadn’t anticipated that his father fleeing in panic caused the situation, and he had once again misjudged his mother.

Xiao Jing, in the bedroom, heard her son’s comments. She felt truly disappointed, never imagining that this was the impression she left in her son’s heart. She always felt she was in the wrong and repeatedly doubted herself.

She never expected that she, as a mother, could be such a failure, unable to provide her son even the most basic life, nor gain his trust. She felt like the most incompetent mother in the world.

”Kid, I really just want to travel the world with your mother. These years, although we’ve been wandering outside, always unsettled, you always think we’re having a good time, but who can understand the anxiety we face outside!

I want to take her to experience the boundless beauty of nature. I want her to experience the best things in the world. I don’t want her to live so tiredly. I want her to live a life no other woman in the world would live.

Before, I had no chance or ability to take her world-touring. But now, things have reached this point, and I want to do everything I ever wanted to do for her. Otherwise, if she really leaves me one day, what could I possibly do? I can only watch her laughing in someone else’s arms while I silently gaze from behind. Do you know how desperate that feels?”

Hearing Zhang Zhentian’s words, Xia Jing couldn’t help but cry. She never thought her decisions would lead to such results again and again. Her husband suddenly telling her that he wanted to take her on a world tour was only out of fear that one day she might really leave him, missing the opportunity to show her the world’s best things. He simply wanted to give her the most beautiful memories.

”Dad, you mean you’re afraid mom might leave you one day, so you want to take her traveling the world, just to etch all the beautiful memories permanently in your mind, to spend the rest of your life with these memories, right?

Haven’t you considered if it’s really worth it?

Actually, deep in my mom’s heart, it’s not like she doesn’t care about you. Now that you’ve done so much for her, she’ll only be more grateful in her heart. It’s just that some things aren’t easily forgotten, so...”

”I know I’m genuinely unsure now if I can still grasp it. In the past, I didn’t care and could keep waiting, but now I can’t wait any longer. I truly fear that one day she might really leave me. Now, I just want to imprint our best memories in my brain forever. Even if she were to leave, I would still have our sweetest memories. To me, she is the most beautiful treasure in life...”

Forgotten was who played and sang, missing faraway attachments.
