My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2165: Chapter 1998: Submissive and Timid

I once used the deepest part of my feelings to plead with you, not to leave my side, and in the end, I realized that I lived so humbly in front of you, even timidly doing everything.

”Zhihan, have you ever thought about it? Actually, he does this out of true love for you. If he didn’t love you, why would he agree to your parents’ unreasonable demands? As a man, how could he not want to have a love child with his wife? But to be with you, he gave up so many excellent girls. It’s precisely because he wants to accompany you to old age that he resists his parents so fiercely. He doesn’t want his life to be dictated by his parents; he wants to have his own perfect life, to assert his rights. Because of this, he’s thinking about breaking free from his parents’ control. He wants to find his true love, and now he’s found you. In his heart, you’re more important than anything else. He is willing to give up everything he worked hard to build for you. He is now an economic emperor, and many things are tied to him. I believe you know the saying, ’A person fears fame like a pig fears getting fat.’ Isn’t he doing this to protect you? Your parents always thought Yichen would bully you all day after marrying you. From a parent’s perspective, their concern is understandable since they worry about their daughter. But if your husband didn’t agree, would your parents have married you to him? He made that decision out of necessity, for you to be together smoothly. How do you know he wasn’t in pain when making this decision? Sometimes, as a wife, you should consider your husband’s satisfaction and pain. You can’t just live the life you want as you please. You’re no longer just a girl; you have your own family, and everyone’s fate is connected. Do you know? For our wealthy families, every move is watched by the media. Maybe you don’t feel it today, but tomorrow, if you and your new husband have a fight after the wedding, it’ll be the headline news. Do you really want to see the empire your husband worked so hard for crumble because of your relationship problems? You know how tough it was for him over the years, how hard he worked to meet his job requirements and goals. He didn’t do it for anything else; he just wanted to be with you. He waited for so many years, hoping to create a world with his beloved woman. Now that you’re finally together, why let these unpleasant things make your relationship even more awkward? You’re already a couple, and there should be no hurdle you can’t cross together. It’s up to you if you’re willing to stay with the person who broke your heart yet whom you can’t bear to hate, striving together to create your world.”

”Grandpa, I know there’s reason in what you’re saying. I also know I can’t argue with you; I haven’t read as many books. I know, and I don’t want to make any comments on this matter anymore. But in this situation, he shouldn’t have hidden anything from me from the beginning to the end. My parents made unreasonable demands, and he should have told me right away, letting me get involved in solving it. But why did he do this? Is it really just to be with me that he had to make such a big sacrifice? Do you know? I always fantasized that if I married the man I love most, I must have a love child with him because it symbolizes our love. It is our love that brings our child, a child between us. But on our wedding night, he made such a request. No matter what, I cannot forgive such a thing happening to me. I hold it in such high regard. I even wanted a child with the man I love the most, but ultimately, he said this to me. Regardless of his purpose or whom he did it for, I can’t forgive such a thing happening to me! Grandpa, I’ve spoken very clearly just now. I don’t want to stay at home these days. Maybe after a few days, once he’s thought it through, he’ll know where he went wrong. This is our way of handling things as a couple. I also understand that these things have happened. I can’t change that, but I want him to understand clearly and thoroughly that as a couple, any problem should be faced together, not borne alone, even if the original intention was to protect the one he loves. But he can’t lie to the one he loves the most, as lying can lead to a breakdown in our relationship and cause a once-perfect and happy home to lose its original warmth and happiness. Grandpa, do you understand what I’m saying? Maybe you think I’m being very immature, but I have no choice but to do this! When he finally understands, he’ll come to find me and talk about it. Until then, I won’t see him...”

”Does it have to come to this between you two? How can there be a reason to move out just two days after the wedding? Aren’t you intentionally making the Zhang Family look bad?” Old Master Zhang was infuriated by Ran Zhihan. Although he knew his grandson had wronged earlier, it shouldn’t be like this – leaving without a word. Are you no longer seeing yourself as part of the Zhang Family?

”Grandpa, this isn’t because of me. It’s because Yichen lied to me. I am not even sure whether I want to continue living with him like this. This behavior makes him a stranger to me. He used to tell me everything honestly, but now? Just recently married, and he lies to me. Am I still his wife in his heart? Now, I see no hope in his eyes. This time it’s he who gave me despair. I know he loves me, but does love justify lying to me casually? I cannot accept a husband like this. Grandpa, goodbye!”

”Zhihan, Zhihan, Zhihan...” No matter how much Old Master Zhang called out to his granddaughter-in-law, no one responded to him.

Ran Zhihan walked further and further away, finally disappearing under the lights!

In the end, I finally understood that a relationship gained through subservience isn’t real. No matter how much affection or sincerity I dedicate, I still cannot earn your genuine and heartfelt reciprocation!
