My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2179: Chapter 2012: Sprouting

Endless guessing, love raises its sails in loneliness, waiting together for a brighter tomorrow.

”Grandpa, New Year has already arrived. I don’t know what kind of New Year gift you want, but I now understand that perhaps the best New Year gift is my mom and dad peacefully holding each other’s hands and coming home to spend the holiday with you. This would be the perfect gift for everyone, with no one believing there could be anything more perfect. Everyone’s heart holds a certain pain, a certain torment, one that cannot change just by begging over and over again.

Every person in the world must pay the price for their actions, and because of their actions, each person gradually grows up. Their experiences differ, thus their life stories will also differ. I don’t know where my parents are now, and I cannot guarantee they will return for New Year to be with us. I also hope my mom and dad can come home and spend New Year with me. For me, that’s the greatest comfort!

It’s been more than twenty years, over twenty years my parents have never spent a New Year with me. I have hoped time and again that they would come home for New Year day, standing at the doorstep, eagerly watching for their return. But in the end? What I received was the cold wind brushing against my cheeks, time and again, instead of my parents!”

Old Master Zhang knew because he had already seen the letter his grandson wrote to Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing.

He must admit his heart felt conflicted when he saw such an emotional letter from his grandson.

The letter said: ”Mom and Dad, where are you? A new year has arrived, this is already more than my twentieth New Year, and I’ve always waited for my parents to come home to celebrate New Year with me. I hope my parents come back to me, not because I want New Year gifts from them, but because I truly miss them. I want a warm hug from them, to act spoiled in their arms, and tell them how hard I’ve been living these years, to share my feelings intimately.

Mom and Dad, do you know that I am missing you? Each time I stand at the doorstep eagerly watching that distant place, I wish so deeply for you to appear before my eyes. But time and again I return disappointed. I’ve waited day after day, only to welcome the cold wind pressing upon my cheeks. I didn’t see my parents, didn’t have them come back to me, just received mocking glances from others instead. Others all have their parents accompanying them at home, but I have nothing, I only have Grandpa.

Although initially, I hated you both deeply for heartlessly abandoning me, leaving me alone here while you chose to leave, now I choose to forgive you because I know deep down what I want. What I want is simply a warm hug from my parents. Why does heaven have to make things so difficult for me? Why can I forgo all New Year gifts, just to have my parents come back to me, even just a distant glance would suffice, and I’d be satisfied.

But why are the results I get, time and again, so heartbreaking, so painful? I’ve waited so long, more than three hundred days a year, year after year. Day by day, year by year, ultimately I couldn’t wait my parents back. Perhaps you’ve already forgotten me, but I am your biological child. What reason could justify you ignoring, not caring, not knowing about me? What kind of blow would make you abandon your own biological child, what kind of freedom lets you yearn to the extent of not caring about your own family at all?

Do my parents know the pain in a son’s heart? I truly don’t ask for much, my requests have been very few, almost reaching the lowest. I can renounce all expectations, all New Year gifts, as long as my parents come back to me and peacefully spend a New Year with me. Is that really so hard?

I am a child too, I also need my parents’ companionship. I also want my parents’ most genuine love. So many years have passed, my parents did not choose to be with me, but I still chose to love them because they gave me life. No matter what role they played in my growth, my life is ultimately given by them. I know I should learn to be grateful, but I am a living person, I have flesh and blood, I know what kind of life I want, what kind of life can bring me the greatest happiness and comfort.

When I see Grandpa hiding in the corner, secretly wiping tears, I feel deeply upset as a junior. I resent my parents very much for hurting Grandpa, who loves me most. If my parents knew how much Grandpa cares for me, offering me the world including his life, I wonder what they would think. Would they be moved? Would they feel grateful to Grandpa?

Everyone walks a different path, ultimately I choose to forgive my parents, because I understand that only if I don’t dwell on the past will our family’s happy life come. If I harp on about everything, how would my parents live happily, where would my happy life be?

I don’t want to live that unstable life, all I want is a peaceful home, with my parents accompanying me for New Year, that’s all. I gave up all gifts, yet couldn’t wait for my parents, and this hurts me deeply...

When Old Master Zhang finished reading the letter, his heart was truly in pain. He never imagined that his grandson would be this well-known, that he would compromise time and again, only wishing for peace and reunion with his parents. But in the end, heaven still let her down, her parents did not choose to come home, continuing instead to wander without a settled place, time and again, across the world without anyone understanding what this couple truly thinks. Will her New Year gift be realized?

When I hold you tightly, at that moment, memories freeze in an instant!
