My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2174: Chapter 2007: Unknown

All of this is unknown to me, so what? As long as I hold strong to this belief deep in my heart, that’s enough!

Zhang Yichen saw Old Master Zhang’s face full of a sinister smile. She thought it certainly wouldn’t be this easy now. Did she say something wrong? Why did her grandfather show such a vicious smile?

”Grandpa, what are you laughing at foolishly here for? Did I say something wrong? You’re laughing here by yourself, making me feel quite uneasy inside. Do you think I did something wrong, and you want to punish me? Why are you laughing like this?”

”Child, do you especially hope your parents come back home?”

”Of course, Grandpa, isn’t that obvious? They are my parents, of course I hope they can return home and live with us. You know how much I have hoped over the years that my parents could be by my side. You have also seen how I have struggled to get here step by step, and you should understand how hard my heart has been. If my parents could come back to me and live together with all of us, then I would be overjoyed. I have never really asked for anything in this life, I know asking doesn’t yield good results, but this time, I truly want to ask for my parents to come back. For my parents to be by my side has been my dream, but they have always disappointed me, making it impossible for me to fulfill my heart’s wish!”

”Grandpa thought it over, since your parents have repeatedly decided not to come back home, it proves they don’t consider this family. If that’s the case, then Grandpa will make another important decision. I want to retract what I said before, and I’m going to announce anew: if you want your parents to return home, you and your wife must bear me another child. Only then will I not oppose your parents returning, because I feel there is no good attitude towards people who abandon their children and father. They have never regarded us, but we sincerely wish for them to return. Doesn’t everyone need a way to compromise? We’ve paved the steps for them to come down, and shouldn’t they also let us have a way down?”

Zhang Yichen knew that his grandfather had his reasons for saying this. Although he didn’t quite agree with such a transaction, he had no choice but to agree. For his parents to return, who wouldn’t want to make a small sacrifice? For his parents to accompany him more, who wouldn’t be willing to endure some pain and hardship?

Ran Zhihan didn’t expect his grandfather to present such a precondition. In fact, he knew that Grandpa really had other intentions for doing this. He understood what was in Grandpa’s heart. The Zhang Family has been a single-child line for generations, and he also hoped the Zhang Family could prosper and multiply. But Grandpa found it hard to say these words clearly and could only use this approach to hint at the growth of the Zhang Family!

”Grandpa, I actually know why you said and did this. I also hope you understand, even if you didn’t say to do this, we would still carry on the Zhang Family line. Because you’re so good to us, we, as a part of the Zhang Family, shouldn’t we pass down the Zhang Family legacy for generations? I also know you truly wish for Mom and Dad to return, but you find it hard to say anything in the face of their strong objections. Inside, I also feel very uneasy. I really don’t understand why, since your grandson has been born, why do you never want to come back and see your grandson? Do they really not think well of my child and me? What have we done to deserve such treatment from them? We don’t ask for much, I just hope my son, at birth, can know that his grandparents love him and can come back to see him, but the result is that my son and all of us have been disappointed!”

”Nai’er, Mom hopes you understand, it’s not that your grandparents don’t love you, it’s that they’ve ruthlessly abandoned all of us. I don’t know whether it’s right or wrong for me to tell you these things now, but Mom hopes you know, your grandparents aren’t home now. If we want them to come back, then Mommy might give you a brother or sister, you should have someone to accompany you then, right? Mamma doesn’t want you to be lonely all your life journey. In a person’s growth journey, living alone is really lonely, this kind of loneliness Mama and Papa had each tasted once through. You shouldn’t have to go through the loneliness and suffering that Dad and Mom endured. Your dad didn’t have the company of his parents while growing up, but you will always have Mom and Dad by your side. But Mom and Dad can’t always be with you forever. On your path of growing up, you will still have to walk out into society alone, face all the sufferings and challenges alone, and at that time, the only ones who can be with you through thick and thin are your siblings!

Old Master Zhang heard what Ran Zhihan said and couldn’t hold back the tears from slipping from his eyes. Yes, he knew how lonely his grandson was on the path of growing up, even if he had a grandfather accompanying him, he was nevertheless alone. He walked all those paths without anyone’s help, it was by relying on his tenacity that he got here. She also understood what her granddaughter-in-law meant by saying those words to his child. Old Master Zhang was also very grateful for her understanding. He also knew what was right. Unfortunately, his son and daughter-in-law may never understand this in their lifetime, because they never knew what their son truly lacked in his heart. They will never understand what they owe their son. It’s not just love, but companionship...

”Okay, dear, don’t be so sentimental. Let’s give our son a few brothers and sisters. That way, his path through life won’t be lonely, right? This matter depends on the two of us. All these words you’re saying to the child aren’t helpful at all, don’t you think?”

Old Master Zhang heard his grandson’s words and couldn’t help smiling. His granddaughter-in-law also started smiling. Yes, everything depends on people, doesn’t it? As long as there’s a will to change, what can’t be changed?

How I wish for another year, another moment, for the story not to be left adrift, with so much plot, across the side of your dreams!
