My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2160: Chapter 1993: Cherish

At an age when I had no ability to love you, every promise seemed so pale and powerless.

After Ran Zhihan was pulled out of Old Master Zhang’s hospital room by Zhang Yichen, he felt a growing sense of pain and grievance in his heart. Why had his husband not sought him out all these days? Was he really still his wife in his heart? Was such neglect normal for him as a man? Why treat him this way, when he was just a fragile woman needing his affection?

”What do you really want by dragging me like this? Haven’t we already made everything clear between us? Since you’ve always suspected that I am with you for your family’s wealth, then why treat me like this today? It only causes me more distress and pain. I understand that your thoughts and mine differ, and maybe every decision I make causes some resistance in your heart. But do you know that everything I do is for you, only to be with you forever and never leave you, yet in the end, it has only resulted in wounds all over my body.”

Yichen, I beg you, give me some time to calm down. Stop entangling me like this. Let’s both take a quiet moment to think about whether we should continue living like this and reflect on whether we’ve done anything wrong. I know sometimes I’m not good at speaking or doing things, but please don’t despise me or blame everything on me, okay?

I also understand that over these years, my parents have enjoyed a lot of happiness abroad because of me, which I might never be able to give them in my lifetime. But I am very grateful to you because you have allowed my parents to experience family joy, repaying my parents’ many years of nurturing me. My heart sincerely thanks you, but I cannot allow myself to continue being wronged by you time and time again. I can endure, but I’m not a soft pushover for others to mold at will. I am a living person; I feel pain too. When doubted by my own husband, the pain is unbearable, but who has truly experienced this feeling?”

Zhang Yichen stopped in his tracks, suddenly feeling at that moment that he had no words to refute his wife. Every word she spoke was so reasonable, and as a husband, what had he done to hurt his wife?

Reflecting on his suspicions about his wife, was that really the suspicion a husband should have? He knew how much his wife cared for him, yet he pretended to be indifferent. Everyone was saddened by his actions; did he really want to see such a result, or could he simply not understand the touch he most desired deep in his heart?

”Ran Zhihan, every time something happens, can’t you stop lowering yourself and enduring all this? If you have something to say to me, just say it directly. Why do you always have to wrong yourself? Don’t you know that this makes me look down on you? Your actions really hurt my heart. I never thought about how far you would go, nor did I ever imagine what our marriage would become. Don’t you know? At the moment I married you, I was so emotional, so thankful, thankful that I was in time to marry the woman I love most in this life. At that moment, I was really grateful for God giving me such an opportunity. Please don’t make me regret it, okay?”

Ran Zhihan felt even more pained after hearing her husband’s words. What was her life for, after all, for a man who doubted her from the very beginning? Why did she have to make such a big sacrifice?

Everything in the world is equal, and she knows this very well, yet she foolishly jumped into the fire pit, with no way to turn her life around. All she wanted was a stable life between husband and wife, yet why was it so difficult for her? Why wouldn’t anyone give her such a life? Did everyone really see her as so undeserving of happiness?

”You really don’t need to say these things to me. My heart is very thankful to you, and I love you. I can hardly believe it myself, that this is the decision I would make. Back when I was with you, I really didn’t know what love was. At that moment, I just knew my heart would beat because of you, and ache more because of your sadness. I only knew that as long as you were by my side, I would be very happy. Gradually, I realized that was my love for you, and this love wouldn’t change just because of some conflicts between us. On the contrary, I am grateful for your staying by my side despite all difficulties, which is the happiest thing for me in this life. I have no way to watch you suffer in pain!

No one can clearly explain the relationship between us; many decisions are made by oneself, so who can one blame? Clearly knowing that some decisions would bring lifelong sorrow and tears, yet still jumping into it without hesitation, only to end up battered and bruised, but still foolishly waiting, waiting for someone in the middle to come accompany them.”

”Let’s both take a step back. After all, we have a young son at home. I have thought many times that I should let my son have a happy childhood, and not let sie immerse himself in endless training like I did. In the end, although I gained the entire world, my heart remained empty. I want my child to have a carefree childhood, as you said, and not continually prove to those who don’t care about him how strong he is. That would only be exhausting and passive. No one understands this kind of heartache, but I don’t want my son to experience every step I have walked, as it would be too cruel for him!”

Why do the right people always part at the wrong time? What has made us become like this step by step!
