My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2176: Chapter 2009: The Future

I stand in the embrace of your future, this dream ends too quickly, I simply can’t see your love, can’t see the flowers bloom, when I woke up, the night felt so pale.

”I didn’t expect, didn’t expect this matter to really be related to him. When your children came home and said there was a strange grandmother blocking him on the road, not letting him come home, that’s when I had my suspicions. I just didn’t expect it would really be connected to him in the end. I don’t understand what he really wants, I also don’t understand what he takes us for, that he could hurt us over and over again. Is that what we are in his heart? Why does he want to do this, why does he want to make us so sad?”

”Grandpa, isn’t it a bit premature to draw conclusions about yesterday’s matter? Even though everything points to my mom, I believe he wouldn’t do such a thing without reason, there must be something else going on. You shouldn’t ignore my mom in your rage. I hope you can trust my mom a bit more. Actually, my mom isn’t as bad as you imagine. She also has her struggles. Many times, we should give her more understanding and empathy. That way, she won’t do things that make us sad. Everyone needs a bit more trust. Without trust, it will make everyone feel even worse. Don’t think my mom is really bad; she’s not. She just doesn’t know how to act sometimes, doesn’t know how to get along with us peacefully. Everything she does is to live in harmony and happiness with us. Is there anything wrong with that? Although my mom has done many things in the past that are hard to understand or forgive, so many years have passed. We don’t need to hold on to these past events. That way, not only will you be unhappy, but my parents will be unhappy too. Everyone needs more understanding, respect, and trust to live the life they want happily together. If we don’t even have basic trust, what’s the point of living?”

Old Master Zhang never expected that his grandson would stand up for his parents. It was something that had never happened in all these years. Has his grandson really forgiven his mother? But why do such things? If he’s forgiven his mother, he should be thinking about bringing her back instead of saying these words to me here. Maybe he has his own reasons too.

”Yichen, I know this matter might be hard for you to accept, but for grandpa, it’s just as hard. But there’s no choice; we must choose to accept things no matter how they turn out, right? Otherwise, how is everyone supposed to live, face society, and the world? Everyone has different understandings, and ultimately there will be some things that are different, leaving oneself or others with regrets. People live a lifetime and can’t live entirely without regrets. At some point, one will feel sad and exhausted. I must admit, grandpa never thought you’d plead for your mom. This is the first time you’re speaking up for her, and the first time you’re pleading with grandpa for her. Grandpa is truly happy to see you take this step, but I hope you can think clearly. Is this really the right thing to do? Doesn’t your mom have any suspicion? If she really didn’t know she was speaking to your child, then why didn’t she let your child come home? Why block him? If she truly didn’t know that was your child, why didn’t she send him home directly? If it were someone else’s child, would she dare to block him so brazenly from going home? You’re too naive, too trusting. Don’t think that just because she’s your biological mom and after everything, she won’t do such things again. Sometimes a person can’t tell the absolute story, can’t master the workings of fate, can’t prove this matter has nothing to do with her, you understand?”

”But regardless, grandpa, I believe this matter is definitely not something my mom did intentionally. I just feel this matter is too suspicious; it’s impossible for her to know so precisely that it was my child. If she really knew it was my child, she would let him come home quickly instead of blocking him, making us worry. Even though our mom did many bad things in the past, in her heart, our family and I, her son, are the most important. She wouldn’t do things that make me sad and troubled anymore. But this time such a major issue, I don’t believe my mom did it. I also hope you can forgive my mom, not hold a grudge against her because of past matters, thinking all bad things were done by my mom. Actually, my mom isn’t really bad; it’s just that you don’t understand her well enough. Don’t judge my mom’s character based on your lack of understanding, okay? Give my mom more trust, let her know we do care about her, not like before, suspecting everything is her doing. Give my mom more trust, and she will eventually realize these things. She will know we all care about her. One day, my mom will understand and willingly come home to reunite with us and live happily with the life she wants!”

”Hmm, silly child, you’re still too naive. Do you really think these matters will be perfectly resolved like this? Do you really think no one will find out about these matters like this? Many things won’t remain unknown just because we don’t speak about them. In fact, if we actively say something, others may not even have such thoughts. But if we keep hiding it, it will only lead to suspicion among everyone, making people wonder about the truth of these matters. Never mind, grandpa shouldn’t say more now. But I hope you understand this is the last time. If this matter truly has nothing to do with her, grandpa will definitely welcome her back home with open arms. But if this matter is related to her, then I won’t be lenient...”

Perhaps after a long wait, you will understand, I won’t let myself leave like this. The furthest distance isn’t at the ends of the earth, but in your choice to escape. I strive to get close to your heart, leaving traces of love in my life.
