My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2159: Chapter 1992: Looking Back

Perhaps in the end, you and I still wander through this world, touching all this loneliness, stirring up layers of ripples.

”Grandpa, please rest assured, I will do my best to bring him back. I just hope when he returns, you won’t hit him because of me anymore. That would only make him resent me more, making the relationship between us as husband and wife even worse. Consider this the last thing you do for your granddaughter-in-law,” Ran Zhihan said to Old Master Zhang.

Old Master Zhang also thought his granddaughter-in-law made a lot of sense. Right now, there was no other solution; they could only take it one step at a time. It was better to agree for now, lest in the end, even his grandson leaves him, and he’d truly have nothing left.

”Alright then, I will agree with you for now, but you must promise that you’ll bring my precious grandson back. As long as he can return home, I will never interfere in your matters again. I will let you both handle your own lives. I just don’t want my grandson to become so unfeeling that I no longer recognize him. He’s the child I painstakingly raised, the one I watched grow up. I know his character best, but now that his character has become like this, I just can’t accept it. I hope when you see him, you can put in a good word for me, ask him to forgive this grandpa for that impulsive moment when I slapped him. I had no choice.”

”Grandpa, I understand. I will definitely bring him back. Since we have already agreed on this, I will now set off to find him. As for whether I can find him or not, I can’t be sure. After all, the world is so big, every corner may have his place, and those places, I might not all know.”

Old Master Zhang nodded and said, ”Then you should go first. I wish you good luck on your journey, and hope you can smoothly bring your husband back.”

Ran Zhihan said nothing and just left the house. He had no path to follow now but to search for his husband. Yet the world is so vast, every corner might have his husband’s place, but for her, where should one go to find him? She might not know all his secret hideouts...

Ran Zhihan thought for a while and decided to call Lei Jian.

When Lei Jian saw that Ran Zhihan was calling, he said, ”Zhihan, what made you think to give me a call today? Do you miss me?”

”Hmm, I’m too lazy to joke around with you, I’m here for serious business!”

Lei Jian sensed Ran Zhihan’s helplessness: ”What’s wrong? Are you two having an argument? That doesn’t seem right, didn’t you just finish the honeymoon? How could there be quarrels between newlyweds?”

”It’s not a matter of arguing now, it’s that he has disappeared from my sight, and I don’t know where he has gone. I’m just trying to ask you, in such a big world, where should I look for him? Do you know where he might go? I want you to help me find him.”

”What happened between you two? I remember your relationship was always very good before the wedding. How could you just quarrel and run away from home right after getting married? Is there some misunderstanding between you two?”

”This matter is really hard to explain in a few words. The main situation is... given a situation like this, what more can I say? I really couldn’t hold back at the time, which is why I raised my voice at him. It was precisely because I quarreled with him that he became like this, left home, and now I can’t find him anywhere. The world is so big, and every place has its secret hideout, and I don’t necessarily know every one of his secret hideouts. Where should I go to find him now? Looking at grandpa at home, feeling lost and dejected, seeing grandpa sad because of guilt, I feel very uncomfortable. I just hope to find him quickly because only then will grandpa stop being sad and shedding tears.”

”So that’s how it is, but I’m really sorry, I can’t help you with this. What kind of person is he? I believe you understand his status better than I do. If he doesn’t want to be found by others, even if you travel the whole world, find the ends of the earth, you won’t be able to find him because he is the emperor of the world economy. Actually, you are a married couple, why quarrel over some trivial matters? This not only hurts the relationship between you but also affects your belief in moving forward together in the long run. Let me give you a piece of advice, don’t easily start arguing with him. It’s not easy for two people in love to be together. And if they can be together because of love, it’s destined. Since heaven has predetermined the result that you two will end up together, what is there to be picky about? You and Yichen are like that. You two are heaven’s destined couple. If the result is already determined, don’t let any other factors change your relationship. Doing so only affects the belief between the two of you and your standing in each other’s hearts. Do you really want to watch your husband fly far away from you just a few days after your wedding? Do you truly want to watch the person you love so dearly just be given up by yourself? I believe this is something you wouldn’t want to see happen in your heart because it’s simply against heaven’s principles. You are such a match, truly in love, and it’s your love for each other that brought you this far. No matter what caused your husband to become this way, you must believe it’s all because of love. You made such a huge sacrifice because of love; he doesn’t hope to not have children with you. He just doesn’t know how to honestly explain this to you. He doesn’t want you to be at odds with your parents because he agreed to your parents’ request. Do you understand? Both of you were too impulsive; neither’s thoughts were clear when you both fired away at each other. Do you think your actions were right? Is it really worth damaging the love between you?”

Your love over so many years, I watched firsthand how difficult it was. You went through so much torment to get to where you are today. Would you throw it all away for a word or a promise? I hope you understand that what’s destined cannot be changed, but you should still cherish each other within the premise of destiny...”

When the sound of the guqin resonates slowly, these feelings that could wait have already become in vain.
