My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2173: Chapter 2006: The Butterfly Loves the Flower

We are like the wind blowing the sand, like the butterfly loving the flower, it could be an eternal tale, like the moon in the water, but it paradoxically causes us to part!

Zhang Zhentian never thought that his father had already investigated the matter thoroughly, just waiting for him to fall into the trap. Perhaps his father truly doesn’t want him to return home, or maybe this is the consequence he originally should bear. Now, who can he blame?

Even so, he is still unwilling to accept it. He cannot accept being driven out by his father, never to return. Clearly, the mistake wasn’t so grave, so why must he be expelled because of one lie, preventing him from returning home for life? The mistakes he made weren’t that significant. Is it wrong to help his wife hide the truth? Are all his actions really so unsatisfactory in his father’s eyes, without a single right one?

”Dad, why? Why? You obviously have already investigated everything clearly, yet you still want me to investigate. Why did you do this? Is it to test me deliberately, or to forever prevent me from returning home? You know perfectly well I would choose to hide the truth for my wife. Why did you still do this? In your heart, do I matter as a son? Is everything I do nothing but mistakes in your eyes? I truly do not understand why our relationship has become what it is today. I admit that abandoning you all was my mistake. I shouldn’t have done it; I shouldn’t have forsaken you for my own interests. But I’ve already been punished, so what more do you want from me? Do you want me to die in front of you? You are my biological father, yet why don’t you consider our father-son relationship when you act? This is something that can never change in this lifetime.”

”Do you still not understand? Especially when it comes to our father-son relationship, it’s the countless mistakes you’ve committed that make it hard for me to trust you. What more do you want from me? Time and again, I choose to forgive you because you’re my son. You’ve become what you are today because of my failure to teach you well, not molding you into a worthy child. But given the things you’ve done, how can I continue to forgive you and show mercy? Your mistakes are always so unforgivable, yet I always choose to forgive you. Is this how you repay me? In your eyes, what am I? I’m your father too. Is your father meant to be hurt by you over and over? Have you forgotten the words you just said? Do you think you’re the only one capable of investigating clearly? Do you believe Zhang Mo is seen by others like that? You seriously underestimate me. Don’t forget I built my business from scratch with my own hands. I had nothing, and with my hands, I built my company. When I hoped you’d accept my company, what did you decide? You chose to leave and wander the world with your so-called wife, refusing to help me. Is this the son I have? Is this your idea of filial piety? Is this why you seek my forgiveness time and again? Reflect on what you’ve done – is it truly worthy of my repeated forgiveness? Ask yourself, do your actions truly honor my painstaking nurturing? For so many years, you’ve never considered what you owe me. You’ve only thought about how to hurt me, how to obtain the benefits you desire. Is this how you repay your father who raised you for decades with great effort?”

”I’ve told you I haven’t, I never thought that way about you. Why won’t you trust me? I only wish to live happily together with you. I only wish to receive the love a son should. I only hope to get everything a father should give. In your eyes, am I fighting for all these things with you? Do you think I really care about them?”

”I know you don’t care, and that’s why you repeatedly do things to hurt me. You’ve done countless hurtful things, but ultimately, what do I say? Because you are my son, I can only choose to forgive you again and again, to tolerate you. Yet in your heart, you’ll never be satisfied, because you feel I owe you this, that I should be repeatedly harmed and abandoned by you. Is that right?”

Zhang Yichen couldn’t bear listening anymore. He never imagined his grandfather would have such a saddening day. It turns out his grandfather wasn’t indifferent toward these matters; he simply didn’t know how to express it and chose to turn a blind eye. He didn’t want these relationships to worsen, yet he didn’t anticipate that this indifference would embolden his father to lie and use his family as a basis for lies.

”Dad, how can you speak to Grandpa like that? Do you know everything wrong you’ve done, Grandpa has long seen it. But he chose to say nothing; he just hoped you’d repent and change your ways, to come back to him. Each time you act, you hurt those who love you most. Do you know how much Grandpa has missed you over the years? He only wishes his son could accompany him to share family joy. But what about you? What have you done all these years? You cruelly left him outside; you’ve never considered you have a father. You’ve never thought you have me as your son. After doing so much wrong, why return seeking forgiveness? If you truly thought we didn’t matter, why return to provoke me, wanting us to forgive you for your departure, to bear all the pain ourselves? We owe you nothing. We chose to believe you time and again because we see you as family, but ask yourself, are you truly fit to be our family?”

That midsummer, you left me, left this home. I didn’t know if it would bring fortune or disaster, if it was fear or anxiety!

The whims of fate made it so I searched many places yet still found no trace of you!
