Chapter 2500: Chapter 2501: Return to Tianyun (67)

After the banquet was over, Madam Huo wanted to return to the Huo Mansion, but Su Xing wanted Madam Huo to stay for a few days. With Taoming Ye and Tao Chengyin also urging her to stay, Madam Huo decided to remain.

Su Xing tidied up a guest room for Madam Huo in her and Taoming Ye’s courtyard.

As soon as Su Xing helped Madam Huo sit on the heated bed in the outer room, she didn’t mind whether the maidservants in the inner room were making the bed, and laughed, ”Xin’er, since your father passed, I haven’t been in such limelight. Thanks to you, I had my moment today.”

Sitting with Taoming Ye on the other side of the bed, Su Xing picked up the teapot from the small table on the bed, poured a cup of tea for Madam Huo, and said with a smile, ”I could achieve such results all because of your nurturing, Grandma.”

Madam Huo laughed heartily, ”If it weren’t for your own efforts, my nurturing would be useless. Right, Míngyè?”

Taoming Ye replied with a smile, ”It’s mainly due to your nurturing, Grandma.”

Madam Huo laughed even more, ”You’re just like Xin’er, flattering me.”

Taoming Ye denied, ”No, no.”

Madam Huo laughed several more times, her voice full and robust, just from the sound you could tell she was healthy.

After the maidservants and young servants all left, Madam Huo lowered her voice to tease, ”Your second brother didn’t look too happy today, huh?”

Taoming Ye smiled, ”Xin’er stole his spotlight, of course, his face didn’t look good.”

Su Xing said cheerfully, ”Serves him right! Before I even took the exam, he ridiculed me, saying I’d be ashamed and scolded upon return.”

Madam Huo laughed, ”Some people are just full of themselves, haven’t you slapped him in the face now?”

Su Xing and Taoming Ye were both quite pleased, exchanged a sweet glance, and then turned back to Madam Huo.

Madam Huo continued, ”The Imperial City will probably be talking about you for days, the more you shine, the more uncomfortable he feels.”

Su Xing was not sympathetic to Taoming Hai at all. She said with a smile, ”The more uncomfortable he feels, the happier I am. Who told him to rely on being the legitimate son, always looking down on others? I won’t even bother with other things, but when he used to grab my husband’s things and bully him, how could I stand him?”

Madam Huo immediately teased, ”You know you treasure Míngyè, you always say it out loud, afraid others won’t know, not the least bit shy, and you’re still a lady, after all.”

Su Xing affectionately hugged Taoming Ye’s right arm, ”Husband, Grandma says I treasure you?”

Taoming Ye looked at her tenderly and said with a smile, ”Grandma is right.”

Su Xing immediately nodded in agreement.

Madam Huo covered her cheek with one hand, pretending to say, ”Oh, my old teeth, if you keep this up, you’ll sweeten them right out. Go on, go out quickly, spread your sweetness outside, let this old woman rest.”

Su Xing glanced at the already made bed inside, helped Taoming Ye off the heated bed, and said with a grin, ”Then Grandma, rest well. If you need anything, just call us. We’re in the same courtyard, very convenient.”

Madam Huo laughed, ”I’m your grandma after all, I won’t stand on ceremony with you. Go out quickly, and let Míngyè rest too. Look, his face isn’t looking good again.”

Taoming Ye smiled, ”My face has never looked good. Have a good rest, Grandma, Xin’er and I will leave now.”

Once Taoming Ye and Su Xing returned to their own room, Su Xing helped Taoming Ye lie on the bed and said, ”It’s rare for Grandma to stay here, tomorrow let’s take her on a good tour of the mansion.”
