Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2457: Chapter 2458: Return to Tianyun (24)

Her right hand was still outside, so she pressed down the blanket to prevent the wind from getting in, and openly smiled, ”I used to think marriage wasn’t so great, but now with someone by my side, it feels pretty good.”

Seeing that she didn’t seem to be lying, Taoming Ye felt comforted. Even though his heart had long been cold and hard as a rock, at this moment, it softened, and under the blanket, he held her hand even tighter.

And his gaze became even more gentle.

”Just now, I spoke to your parents like that, you’re not upset with me, are you?” Su Xing asked him worriedly. She was afraid he’d mind her being like that.

Taoming Ye shook his head, indicating that he wasn’t upset.

”Though we just got married, you’ve seen a bit of my personality. What do you think of me?”

”Good.”

”Pfft.” Su Xing laughed. ”Isn’t there anything else?”

”I really think you’re good.” After a pause, ”I’ve never seen another woman like you.” Then he smiled gently, ”I really like you this way.”

She hadn’t expected him to say he liked her, so Su Xing initially felt a bit embarrassed before she smiled and said, ”You’ll often see me like this in the future; after all, we’re already married.”

”Mm.”

”By the way, tell me about how the treatment of legitimate and commons sons differ in your family. Your father promised me that from now on, you’d get the same treatment as Taoming Hai in the household.”

”Thank you.” After expressing gratitude, Taoming Ye said, ”Actually, I really don’t care about these things. No matter how good the treatment is, I’m still a commons son.”

”As I said, we’re already married. Why are you thanking me? You won’t say it again in the future!” Su Xing ordered. Then, addressing his last sentence, she said, ”Although you’re still a commons son, at least your treatment has improved from before. We should naturally strive for what we can. What, do you want your wife to get bullied for nothing? Although I’m very happy to marry you, I’m not someone who would silently endure being bullied. I just want them to see that your wife isn’t to be messed with. In the future, whoever dares to bully you in the household will have to get past me first!”

The way she defended him warmed his heart, and he gently said, ”Of course, I don’t want you to be bullied for nothing. But in the household, no one bullies me, don’t overthink it.”

”I’ll trust your first sentence, but forget the second. Do you think I’m blind, that I can’t see? But I’ve also noticed something: your father truly cares about you, and your commons brothers and sisters seem to respect you, perhaps because they share your plight. It’s just your legitimate mother and Taoming Hai, those two, I really don’t feel they’re genuine to you. If you truly consider me your wife, don’t deceive me in the future, let your wife stand up for you. As long as you’re open-minded, it’s not embarrassing!”

”It’s not that I’m afraid of embarrassment, it’s just... Sigh...” Taoming Ye sighed lightly, ”In this deep household, it’s better to bear with it. Otherwise, you wouldn’t even know how you die. This useless body of mine, if I die, I’m just gone, but I don’t want anything to happen to you.”

Not know how you die?

Su Xing immediately caught the key point and associated it with his deceased mother, lowered her voice, and asked, ”Wasn’t your biological mother sick when she passed away?”

Taoming Ye was a bit surprised that she made the connection and hit the nail on the head.

This wife of his is too clever.

After a long silence, he cautiously said, ”I’m not too sure, it’s just that when my mother was sick, the doctor said two doses of medicine would cure her, but after taking the medicine, not only did it not work, my mother suddenly died.”
