Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2482: Chapter 2483: Return to Tianyun (49)

Su Xing saw that it was getting dark, so she stopped practicing and planned to head home, leading her horse along. She knew if she returned late, her husband would surely worry about her. Therefore, she always ensured she got home early whenever possible.

But as Su Xing led her horse out of the stable, she saw her husband Taoming Ye standing in the nearby corridor, smiling at her tenderly.

”Husband!” Su Xing’s eyes lit up with delight, and immediately she dropped the horse’s reins and ran towards Taoming Ye, embracing him without concern for the presence of maidservants or young servants.

”Husband, why have you come, husband?” Su Xing was extremely happy.

Taoming Ye gently hugged her back and said with a soft laugh, ”To spare you from running back and forth, before you take your children’s exam, we’ll both stay here.”

”Really?!” Su Xing was even happier. She hadn’t expected to live here together.

”Yes.” Taoming Ye, infected by her joy, smiled and nodded lightly.

Su Xing was a bit worried: ”Will Dad and your birth mother agree?” Previously she was concerned about this.

Taoming Ye said gently, ”I’ve already talked to Dad, and he agreed. As long as Dad agrees, she wouldn’t dare disagree.” Naturally, he was referring to his ’fine’ birth mother.

”Mm mm~” Su Xing nodded happily. Seeing Taoming Ye’s face pale like a ghost, she was heartbroken, pouting with both distress and complaint: ”Look at you, coming all this way just to exhaust yourself.”

Taoming Ye knew she was more concerned for him, so he quickly reassured her softly: ”I left home at巳时 and just arrived, showing I took many breaks on the way. I wasn’t as rushed as last time, I truly don’t feel as bad, don’t worry.”

Just after speaking, Taoming Ye swayed, almost unable to stand steadily.

Fortunately, Su Xing was holding him; otherwise, he might have fallen.

Knowing her husband was forcing himself, Su Xing was both distressed and anxious. She quickly helped Taoming Ye into her former boudoir at the Huo family home, with Ru Song until Taoming Ye lay on the bed. Only then did she, with reddened eyes, say: ”I told you not to come out, yet you insisted, even to such a distant place! If you truly want to spare me from running back and forth, I can stay here alone. Why did you come? Look how you’ve worn yourself out again! You might end up bedridden for days.”

Ru Song and the others all withdrew, leaving Su Xing and Taoming Ye to talk in the room.

Taoming Ye weakly smiled: ”This time truly feels better than before, you really don’t have to worry.” After a slight pause, he continued: ”If you stay here alone, wouldn’t I long for you? It’s better if I’m here.”

Su Xing felt a sweet warmth from his last words and voluntarily held his hand tightly, confessing honestly: ”If I truly stayed here alone, I’d certainly miss you too. I’d rather run back and forth daily than not see you every day.”

He was her husband, with such poor health, wherever she went, he would be her concern.

She naturally wished to see her husband daily.

That way, she could be at peace.

Taoming Ye listened to her words, feeling gratified, lifting another hand to softly stroke her face.

Su Xing lowered her head, facing him face-to-face, their breaths mingling on each other’s faces.

Just as they were about to kiss, suddenly Madam Huo’s voice rang out—
