Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2486: Chapter 2487: Return to Tianyun (53)

Su Xing finally managed to stop laughing, and then said: ”I was just saying, that Wan Banyan is after all a young lady from the Marquis’ Mansion. No matter how big of an official your father is, he’s just a Third Rank, and there are many people with better family background and appearance than Taoming Hai. How come she and Taoming Hai took a liking to each other? It turns out she thinks Taoming Hai can become Martial Champion. Lord Wan agreeing to this marriage may also be because he believes Taoming Hai can become Martial Champion. Haha, my husband, don’t you think these people are blind? Taoming Hai’s ability is clearly right there for everyone to see. How come they can’t see it?”

Taoming Ye said calmly: ”It’s not that they can’t see it, but they think that even if he doesn’t become Martial Champion, he will likely become a Scholar. Besides, he is the legitimate son of a Third-ranking official. A Marquis’ daughter marrying a man like him is not considered a grievance.”

”If you think of it that way, it makes sense.” Su Xing nodded.

The next day, Tao Chengyin sent someone to inform Taoming Ye and Su Xing that Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan’s marriage was settled, and the date of the wedding was confirmed, set for June 30th to bring Wan Banyan through the door.

Which means in a little over two months.

In mid-June is the children’s exam, and on June 30th, Taoming Hai is marrying Wan Banyan. This makes Su Xing and Taoming Ye more convinced that Wan Banyan agreed because she thinks Taoming Hai can become Martial Champion.

Time flew by, and suddenly it’s June 13th, with the children’s exam starting tomorrow. The exam lasts for three days, meaning June 14th, 15th, and 16th, Su Xing can only be in the examination hall and can’t come out to see Taoming Ye.

That evening, Su Xing hugged Taoming Ye tightly, ”My husband, I won’t be able to see you for three days, I will definitely miss you!”

Taoming Ye also hugged her, his tone very gentle: ”I will miss you too.” Saying this, he gently dropped a kiss on her hair.

”Missing is one thing, but don’t worry about me. I’ll come find you as soon as the exam is over.”

”Hmm.” He paused, ”If you run into the second brother, you—”

Taoming Ye hadn’t finished speaking before Su Xing interrupted: ”As long as he doesn’t bother me, I won’t pay him any attention.”

”Hmm.” He paused, ”Take care of yourself in the exam hall.”

”I will take good care of myself. You also need to take care of yourself. Don’t end up catching some other illness; you haven’t taken medicine for months. Although your health hasn’t improved, it hasn’t deteriorated either. I hope you’ll never need to take medicine again.”

”Hmm. Tomorrow you have to wake up early, go to sleep soon.”

”I still want to chat with you for a while, I can’t bear to part from you.”

Taoming Ye immediately laughed, filled with sweet affection. After kissing her on the top of her head again, he tenderly said, ”Be good and listen, sleep early, and after your exam, you can chat as much as you like.”

”Seeing how gentle you are, I’ll agree~” Su Xing giggled and raised her small face.

Taoming Ye bowed his head, and after they kissed mouth-to-mouth, they both closed their eyes and went to sleep.

...

The next day, Su Xing only let Taoming Ye escort her to the Huo family entrance, and then she rode off to the children’s exam hall.

There were only four women taking the exam, conspicuously standing out among a crowd of men. As soon as Taoming Hai arrived, he saw his sister-in-law Su Xing also at the exam hall. He was initially stunned, then briskly stepped towards Su Xing.

When he reached her side, Taoming Hai lowered his voice to ask: ”Why are you here?”

Su Xing continued stretching her muscles as she calmly said: ”Of course I’m here to take the exam, otherwise how could I be here?”
