Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2454: Chapter 2455: Return to Tianyun (21)

Su Xing didn’t beat around the bush. When Tao Chengyin asked her for conditions, she straightforwardly said, ”Since ancient times, there have been differences between legitimate and common sons. Originally, I was supposed to marry your legitimate son and become the legitimate daughter-in-law of this family. Now I am marrying your legitimate eldest son, which means my status has been greatly lowered. You must compensate me.”

”How to compensate?” Tao Chengyin urgently asked.

Su Xing replied, ”Let my husband enjoy the same treatment as the legitimate son in this family. I also want to enjoy the treatment of a legitimate daughter-in-law.”

Taoming Ye felt a warmth in his heart.

Taoming Hai immediately opposed, ”Impossible! A legitimate son is a legitimate son, a common son is a common son. Even if he is older than me, he cannot be on equal footing with me!”

Mrs. Cao also wanted to oppose very much, but as she had always played the role of a good legitimate mother, she did not speak.

The expressions on the faces of other common sons and daughters varied.

Su Xing sneered again, ”You mentioned just now that a legitimate son is a legitimate son and a common son is a common son. Originally, I was supposed to marry your legitimate son, but now you have me marry a common son. If you don’t let my husband enjoy the treatment of a legitimate son, do you think I will be comfortable?”

Without waiting for Taoming Hai to speak, Su Xing turned to look at Tao Chengyin, who was frowning, ”Master Tao, you should know, my father used to be a general under the Duke of Liu and was highly regarded by the Duke of Liu. As long as my grandmother and I go to the Duke of Liu, I believe that he will, on my deceased father’s account, help us with this little task of telling the Emperor about how you secretly swapped to make me marry the common son.”

This was a blatant threat.

Although Tao Chengyin was very displeased with Su Xing’s threat, he actually liked his eldest son, the common son, much more than the legitimate son. If he could take this opportunity to improve his eldest son’s treatment in the mansion, it would be a good thing.

Previously, because of the differences between legitimacy and commonality, and due to being busy himself, the family affairs were all managed by Mrs. Cao. So as long as Mrs. Cao didn’t treat his eldest son too harshly, he turned a blind eye and let Mrs. Cao handle it.

But he was actually clear that Mrs. Cao did not treat his eldest son well.

And he wasn’t foolish; he could see that although Huo Xiner was domineering, she was actually protecting his eldest son.

Having Huo Xiner to protect his eldest son in the future was also a good thing.

Thinking like this, Tao Chengyin agreed, ”From now on, everything that Haier the legitimate son enjoys in the mansion, Ye’er will also enjoy.”

”Father!” Taoming Hai the legitimate son immediately expressed his displeasure.

The other common sons and daughters could only be envious.

Mrs. Cao held back but couldn’t help it and said with a deceitful smile, ”In the future, letting Ye’er enjoy the same treatment as Haier in the mansion is fine, just that master, the household will be difficult to manage in the future. After all, I am not Ye’er’s real mother, you also know master, I disciplined Haier the legitimate son particularly strictly but indulge other children more. I’m afraid I might say something wrong and upset Ye’er, hurting his health.”

”If you’re afraid of saying something wrong, then don’t speak!” Tao Chengyin first scolded Mrs. Cao, causing the smile on her face to stiffen, and become quite embarrassed. But Tao Chengyin didn’t care, and then sternly reprimanded Taoming Hai, ”Without this, do you want your father to be dismissed from office, causing our family to fall from grace?!”

Taoming Hai immediately didn’t dare to say anything.

At this time, Taoming Ye gently pulled Su Xing and said warmly to Su Xing, ”Xin’er, just forget it. I was doing quite well before; everyone treated me well. No need to have everything like Second Brother.”
