Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2479: Chapter 2480: Return to Tianyun (46)

He wasn’t a child, and he didn’t want to restrict her or insist she stay by his side every day, but the fact that she thought of him really made him very happy.

He gently nodded, tenderly: ”Mm, go back to your parents’ home to practice. It’s just that you’re always running back and forth between two places; it’s too tiring.” He felt a little distressed for her.

”It’s fine, this hardly counts as hardship. Father still has to sit in a sedan chair to go to court every day; the distance he travels is much more than my trips back and forth to my parents’ home. Besides, I know Riding a Horse. In the future I’ll just go back and forth on horseback, it’ll be even faster.”

As she spoke, Su Xing didn’t forget her reminders. She put the terrible stuff in her hand onto the small table, took Taoming Ye’s hand, and warned him very seriously: ”Husband, from now on I won’t be by your side often during the day. You must behave, all right? You have to remember yourself when to put on more clothes and when you should eat something. Don’t you dare wait for others to remind you. Ru Song and the others will remind you, but no matter what, that’s not as good as you remembering yourself.”

Taoming Ye was moved and also found it funny. Was his wife treating him like a little child?

Taoming Ye turned his hand to hold Su Xing’s instead: ”Although my health is poor, now that I have you, I’ll pay more attention to my body. I’ll definitely do my utmost not to make you a widow.”

”I don’t particularly like hearing you say that, but thinking this way is right. You have to live a very, very long time and stay with me.” She paused, her gaze firm. ”I will definitely have Prince Xing cure you. I’m going to grow old with you, all the way till our hair turns white together!”

Taoming Ye was even more moved, and he held her hand tighter. His voice grew gentler, and his smile grew gentler as well: ”Some things can’t be forced. Don’t push yourself too hard either, even though I really want to grow old with you too.”

Before marrying her, he had never imagined he would have this kind of sweet life. Now that he had it, he was content—and greedy too, wanting to live longer and slowly grow old together with her.

What he least wanted to see now was dying before she did, leaving her One Person behind.

Hearing that Taoming Ye also wanted to grow old with her, Su Xing immediately said, ”Then we’ll grow old together!”

”Mm, we’ll grow old together!” Although Taoming Ye felt this was a luxury, he still nodded and answered. It was as if, by doing so, this extravagant wish might really come true.

...

The next day, after Su Xing once again uneasily reminded Taoming Ye of many things, she finally went Riding a Horse back to General Huo’s residence.

When Madam Huo saw her granddaughter had returned, she was very happy. ”How come you didn’t send someone ahead to say you were coming back? Right, did Míngyè come back with you?”

Su Xing said, ”Last time Míngyè accompanied me back for the first visit after marriage, and he had to lie in bed for several days before he could get up. With that body of his, he really can’t handle the jolting, so I didn’t let him come.”

”Ai...” Madam Huo sighed. Last time she had chatted a lot with Taoming Ye. Not only was that child well-mannered, his temper was good too. She was truly quite satisfied with him. The only thing she wasn’t satisfied with was still that child’s health.

As soon as Su Xing saw Madam Huo sighing, afraid she’d start worrying about her husband dying early and leaving her a young widow, she hurriedly changed the subject and smiled at Madam Huo: ”Grandmother, I came back today to train.”

”Train for what?” Madam Huo was completely confused.

”For the martial exam. I’ve already registered. The exam will be in mid-sixth month. If I pass, then I’ll be a Martial Talent!”

”Good, good, good.” Madam Huo was so delighted she didn’t even know what to say. Because her son had arranged this marriage for her granddaughter, and her son’s dying wish was that this granddaughter keep her promise and marry into Tao Mansion. Otherwise, how could she have married off her only granddaughter? She would definitely have kept her at home to take a husband into the family and revive the Huo family!
