Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2488: Chapter 2489: Return to Tianyun (55)

On the first day, people might be amazed by Su Xing’s prowess, but by the second and third days, everyone got used to it, numbing to the fact that they’re simply no match for Su Xing, that’s just how it is!

Everyone was exhausted after the exam, except for Su Xing, who seemed completely at ease. In fact, as soon as the exam was over, she hurriedly packed her belongings and dashed out of the examination hall, even the examiner didn’t have time to stop her for a chat.

”Xin’er!”

As soon as Su Xing ran out of the examination hall, she wanted to head to the nearby horse storage place to retrieve her horse and ride home. But before she could, she heard someone calling her, and it was her husband’s voice.

”My dear!” She immediately followed the voice and saw her husband in a carriage not far away, pulling back half of the curtain, smiling gently at her.

Su Xing immediately sprinted towards her husband.

She tossed her items to Ru Song and Hong Ye, who were standing next to the carriage, and climbed into it. As soon as she was inside, she dropped the curtain and hugged her husband, giving him a kiss.

”Honey, I’ve missed you so much!”

Ru Song and Hong Ye, who were outside the carriage, heard her, but they were used to it by now, numbed, and didn’t wonder whether Su Xing felt embarrassed.

Nonetheless, Ru Song and Hong Ye didn’t want others to overhear their master like this, so they began to drive the carriage, heading back to the Huo Mansion.

As the carriage started to move, Su Xing popped her head out and said to Ru Song, ”My horse is still stored over there, please bring it back home for me.”

After speaking, Su Xing pulled her head back into the carriage.

Ru Song then let Hong Ye drive the carriage and went to the horse storage place to retrieve their young mistress’s horse.

Inside the carriage, Su Xing curled up in Taoming Ye’s arms, giving him another kiss to ease the yearning from the past three days, then smiled and asked, ”How long have you been waiting?”

”A while now.”

”Didn’t you come before dawn? Your complexion isn’t so pale anymore, you must have gotten up early, left early, with the carriage stopping several times along the way to get here like this.”

Taoming Ye lowered his head, pecked her cheek, and instead of saying whether he arrived very early, softly said, ”I’ve missed you.”

Su Xing felt incredibly sweet inside. The two chatted sweetly for a while, and then Su Xing curiously asked, ”Why didn’t you ask me how the exam went? Aren’t you concerned about my exam results?”

Taoming Ye gently replied, ”I have confidence in you.”

Su Xing was even sweeter.

Because of Taoming Ye’s health, the carriage would stop to rest for a while after traveling a short distance, so they didn’t return to the Huo Mansion until it was completely dark.

Meanwhile, Taoming Hai had returned early to the Tao family.

At the Tao family doorstep, Mrs. Cao, along with many others, was waiting at the door for him, and as soon as he returned, she asked, ”Haier, how did the exam go?”

”It went okay.” After pausing, Taoming Hai added, ”Mom, my sister-in-law also went for the exam.”

Everyone except the Commons Son and Commoner girl was stunned, including Mrs. Cao.

After being stunned, Mrs. Cao laughed, ”Your sister-in-law really isn’t afraid of bringing shame to your father. I’ve never seen a woman passing the exam, and she’s even going to hit that nail, really...”

The Commons Son and Commoner girl internally scoffed: The current queen was granted her title due to her achievements in battle! Du Aya and General Li Wuyu are both women; they haven’t taken this path, but if they had, they’d certainly pass the exam! Who’s being looked down on here!

With so many people present, Taoming Hai really couldn’t speak his mind, so he could only say, ”Mom, let’s go inside, I have some personal matters to discuss with you.”
