Chapter 2497: Chapter 2498: Return to Tianyun (64)

Su Xing and Taoming Ye hadn’t spoken yet when Ru Song hurriedly asked, ”Going to the front gate for what, is it that the exam results are out?”

The Young Servant said, ”The exam results haven’t come out yet, but if someone passes, it’s a joyous occasion, and firecrackers will be set off. Sir wants the first young master and the young mistress to go over, whether or not the young mistress passes, she’d still bring good luck.”

Su Xing and Taoming Ye didn’t want to disrespect Tao Chengyin, so they stopped playing chess and went to the front gate.

At the front gate of the Tao Mansion were many people, led by Tao Chengyin. Mrs. Cao, Taoming Hai, Wan Banyan and others were all present.

Su Xing and Taoming Ye walked over, greeted Tao Chengyin and Mrs. Cao, and then stood aside.

Tao Chengyin was also quite anxious about Taoming Hai and Su Xing’s results, so he didn’t mind that Su Xing and Taoming Ye were standing aside, but was pacing back and forth. Although Taoming Hai assured it should be fine, he should be able to pass the Martial Talent exam, Tao Chengyin was still quite worried, fearing Taoming Hai might not pass.

As for Su Xing, he didn’t think Su Xing could pass at all.

Mrs. Cao was equally anxious, sharing the same thoughts as Tao Chengyin.

Taoming Hai was also quite anxious, his thoughts slightly different from Tao Chengyin and Mrs. Cao. He was somewhat afraid that Su Xing would pass, but he himself might not. Even though he was quite confident before, with the results about to be announced, he had lost all confidence.

The firecrackers were ready, just waiting for someone from the mansion to pass the Scholar exam to set them off.

After waiting for a cup of tea’s time, Taoming Hai’s Young Servant excitedly ran back, repeatedly shouting, ”Master, Master, you passed! You passed!”

Taoming Hai’s heart immediately settled.

Tao Chengyin and Mrs. Cao were very pleased, only to see Tao Chengyin turn his head and call inside, ”Quick, bring out the firecrackers!”

Wan Banyan was so happy that she repeatedly said, ”Set off the firecrackers. Quickly set off the firecrackers. My husband passed, he’s a Martial Talent now!”

The huge firecrackers, tied to a long bamboo pole, were carried out by two people from the Tao Mansion.

Tao Chengyin waited until the firecrackers were carried out before asking Taoming Hai’s Young Servant, ”What rank did Haier achieve?”

The Young Servant, brimming with joy, proudly said, ”Ninety-second, I saw a lot of names following behind in the list!”

Upon hearing this, Taoming Hai straightened his back, looking triumphant.

Mrs. Cao and Wan Banyan straightened their backs even more, basking in the glory.

Tao Chengyin was about to casually ask about Su Xing’s result, but before he could question Taoming Hai’s Young Servant, his sent Young Servant hurried back, shouting, ”Sir, Sir, the young mistress passed, she passed! And it is is is...”

Having run too quickly, the Young Servant was out of breath, only able to speak clearly upon reaching Tao Chengyin, ”It’s the top rank! The top rank, Sir!”

Tao Chengyin, Mrs. Cao, Wan Banyan, Tao Mingsheng and others were completely stunned. Top rank, top rank...

Taoming Hai wasn’t stunned; he took the exam in the same group as Su Xing, already having some idea of Su Xing’s results. However, he was still somewhat surprised; he never expected Su Xing to actually be the top rank.

Su Xing had initially worried that the examiners might not give her the top rank even if she performed well because she was a woman, but seeing the examiners awarded it, she promptly said to Taoming Ye, ”Husband, I’m the top rank!”

Taoming Ye was equally delighted.

At this point, Tao Chengyin snapped back to reality, walking briskly towards Su Xing while loudly instructing, ”Don’t set off the firecrackers yet, the young mistress achieved first rank, go buy even larger firecrackers! Hurry!”

Someone immediately went to buy larger firecrackers.
