Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2480: Chapter 2481: Return to Tianyun (47)

It was difficult to calm down the emotional excitement, but Madam Huo managed to rationally tell Su Xing: ”With your skills, becoming a Martial Talent, Martial Candidate, or Martial Imperial Examination Graduate should be no problem. But to become a Martial Champion... the world has no shortage of people, and where there are people, there will be talent. There will be men stronger than you as well as women stronger than you. If you can become a Martial Champion, not only will you be glorious, but your husband’s family will also be glorious, and the Huo family, your maternal family, will share in the glory. Your parents in the afterlife should be able to drink Meng Po Soup with a smile.”

”Grandmother, don’t worry. I will strive to become a Martial Champion!”

”Good, good, good.” Madam Huo praised repeatedly and led Su Xing towards the training ground, ”Targets, bows, various hard bows, weights used for weightlifting... and so on, thanks to your father once being a General, he had you practice martial arts daily and used these to strengthen your body, all these things are quite complete at home, and can be used now. Practice well.”

Madam Huo doesn’t know martial arts herself, but her husband used to have great martial skills, and her son later became a General. Even though she doesn’t know martial arts, she understands some aspects of it. Otherwise, after her son’s death, she wouldn’t have personally urged her granddaughter to continue practicing martial arts.

Actually, Madam Huo doesn’t quite know to what extent her granddaughter should practice martial arts. She only feels that her granddaughter, being the General’s only daughter, shouldn’t be less skilled than her son.

Thanks to Madam Huo’s strict urging over the years, Huo Xiner is quite skilled in riding a horse and archery, and even surpasses the Undefeated Huo.

With Madam Huo’s vigorous support, Su Xing was not disturbed when practicing various martial examination items at the Huo Mansion training ground.

From then on, Su Xing lived a life of practicing at the Huo family training ground during the day and enjoying sweet moments with Taoming Ye at night.

That night, seeing Su Xing fall asleep the moment she touched the pillow from exhaustion, Taoming Ye felt very concerned.

A thought slowly formed in his mind.

Soon, he smiled.

He gently kissed Su Xing, and seeing Su Xing instinctively snuggle closer into his arms, Taoming Ye’s gaze and smile softened. Because it was her, even if he followed her wishes without any personal stance, he enjoyed it immensely.

He knew that this person genuinely cared for him and wished him well, without a trace of falsehood.

With his mind settled, Taoming Ye was able to fall asleep as well.

The next day, after Su Xing finished breakfast, she went to the Huo Mansion again. Taoming Ye, seeing Su Xing leave, asked Ru Song to call the maidservant to come in and pack up his and Su Xing’s belongings. He planned to stay at the Huo Mansion for a while.

He originally intended for Su Xing to stay at the Huo Mansion alone, but that wouldn’t be appropriate. How could a married woman stay at her maternal family for long periods? It would invite gossip. But if he stayed there too, it would be different — everyone would just assume that the couple returned to her family for a short visit.

Upon hearing Taoming Ye say he planned to stay at the Huo Mansion for a while, Ru Song hurriedly asked: ”Young master, have you discussed this with the young mistress?”

Taoming Ye remained silent.

Seeing Taoming Ye like this, Ru Song realized that Taoming Ye hadn’t discussed it. Ru Song immediately put on a mournful face: ”The young mistress always insists before leaving home, reminding the young master to stay indoors more, and if going outside, limiting it to walking in the courtyard. Don’t catch an illness. But now, the young master plans to take a carriage to the Huo Mansion? Young master, your body couldn’t withstand the bumps!”
