Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2496: Chapter 2497: Return to Tianyun (63)

Tao Chengyin nodded: ”Prepare it and send it to the study.”

”Sure!” Su Xing replied with a smile, turning her head to see her husband looking at her with a playful smile.

Under the table, Su Xing secretly pinched her husband’s leg. Of course, she only pinched it lightly.

Daring to make fun of me!

And not considering that I suddenly respect this father for someone’s sake!

Taoming Ye naturally knew why she was becoming more enthusiastic towards his father, increasingly treating him like a father. Not angry at all, he gently held Su Xing’s hand under the table.

Tao Chengyin noticed the little movements between Taoming Ye and Su Xing under the table but said nothing. It’s a good thing that the son and daughter-in-law have a good relationship, especially since the daughter-in-law treats his son well.

...

At noon, Su Xing made a lot of cold noodles, sending two bowls to the study for Tao Chengyin, and one bowl each to Mrs. Cao, Aunt Feng, Aunt Zhu, Aunt Fang, Tao Mingsheng, Tao Mingxiang, Tao Mingqing, Tao Mingfang.

She purposely didn’t send any to Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan.

Mrs. Cao didn’t care much for Su Xing’s offerings, but seeing that Su Xing gave to everyone except Taoming Hai and Wan Banyan, she realized Su Xing held a grudge and took it out on Taoming Hai, scolding this son of hers harshly.

Tao Mingsheng, Tao Mingxiang, Tao Mingqing, Tao Mingfang each didn’t feel full with one bowl, shamelessly came to Su Xing for more: ”Good sister-in-law, give us another bowl, this dish is truly refreshing!”

It’s not anything precious, and there was still plenty of cold noodles left, so Su Xing quickly had the cook cut, mix, and pass another bowl to each of them for them to enjoy.

The weather was getting hotter, but fortunately, Taoming Ye’s several shops still brought in some silver each month. Even though ice was quite expensive, Su Xing still bought plenty to make some chilled treats.

Taoming Ye wasn’t in good health and had lost his appetite due to the heat, but thanks to Su Xing’s constant efforts to make new cooling foods specifically for him, he felt sweet inside, and the treats were tasty too, so now he ate a bit more each meal than before.

Seeing Taoming Ye’s improved state, Su Xing was even more motivated to prepare various cooling foods for him.

Half a month flew by, and finally, July eighteenth came, the day the examination results were released.

Luckily Tao Chengyin was on leave and rested at home that day. Early in the morning, he sent someone to check the results.

Though knowing Tao Chengyin had sent someone, Mrs. Cao still sent someone herself. Taoming Hai also sent someone to check.

As for Su Xing, she seemed indifferent, accompanying her husband to play chess under the tree shade in the yard.

Hong Ye sweated anxiously: ”Miss, let’s send someone to check it out.”

Without even glancing at her, Su Xing said: ”What’s the rush? Whether passed or not has been determined, your anxiety won’t change anything.”

Hong Ye said: ”But I’m anxious to know the results now. If you pass, I want to know your ranking.”

Ru Song laughed and agreed: ”I would also like to know. Young mistress, why don’t I go take a look? I’m fast, once I see the results I can quickly return.”

Su Xing still didn’t turn her gaze towards them, continuing to play chess but said: ”The master is at home today, and the second young master is also taking the exam. The master will definitely send someone to check the results, will likely check mine as well, so you two just stay at home and wait patiently.”

Just as Su Xing finished speaking, a young servant of Tao Chengyin came up and said: ”Young Master, Young Mistress, the master requests you both to go to the main gate.”
