Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2485: Chapter 2486: Return to Tianyun (52)

Taoming Ye found it even more amusing, but still said gently, ”Staying indoors is quite boring, so I came to watch you train. Your skills are even better than I imagined.”

Su Xing replied with a smile, ”I’ve practiced martial arts since I was young. My father taught me personally when I was little, and later my grandmother spent a lot of money to hire a master to teach me and personally supervised me. So how could my skills not be good?”

Then, Su Xing pointed to the pavilion next to the training ground and said, ”There’s a pavilion over there where you can clearly see this place. If you want to watch, you can stand, sit, or even lie there to watch. It’s better than standing here in the strong wind.”

Taoming Ye glanced at the pavilion and then asked her, ”Do you go over there when you rest?”

Su Xing giggled and replied, ”I usually rest right where I am, but if you’re in the pavilion, of course, I’ll go over there. It’s good to see you too, right?”

”Yes,” Taoming Ye nodded, with a gentle smile at the corners of his mouth.

Poor Young Servant Ru Song and Maidservant Redleaf, they ate Su Xing and Taoming Ye’s show of affection every day, and neither wanted to serve them anymore. Truly! This couple is too loving, it’s hard to bear! They’ve been sweetened to the point of being overwhelmed!

From then on, as long as Taoming Ye was well enough to leave his room, he’d go to the pavilion to watch Su Xing train. Meanwhile, during her breaks, Su Xing would always go up to the pavilion to have a cup of tea with Taoming Ye before returning to train. The little couple couldn’t be more loving.

Since Su Xing did not neglect her training, Madam Huo just allowed Taoming Ye and Su Xing to display their affection in the Huo Mansion every day.

A month flew by, and today, April 20th, Tao Chengyin sent someone to the Huo Mansion to inform Taoming Ye and Su Xing that Taoming Hai was going to get engaged to Lord Wan’s youngest daughter tomorrow.

However, considering Taoming Ye’s health, Tao Chengyin didn’t ask Taoming Ye to return.

Mrs. Cao, seeing that Taoming Ye had been staying at the Huo family for a month without notifying her and seemingly not planning to return, felt quite resentful in her heart. But due to Tao Chengyin’s protection, she only kept her grievances inside, not daring to show them.

After Tao Chengyin’s people left, Su Xing snorted, ”Finally climbing up the social ladder.”

Taoming Ye didn’t say anything, just poured Su Xing a cup of tea.

Su Xing continued to snort, ”Taoming Hai is built strong as an ox but aims high and has low ability, with short-sightedness, always currying favor with the powerful, never achieving anything substantial.”

Taoming Ye laughed and said, ”I also won’t achieve anything substantial.”

Su Xing immediately hugged Taoming Ye’s left arm, leaning against him and laughing, ”How can he compare to you? He’s not even worth a strand of your hair!”

”That’s in your heart.” Taoming Ye took a small piece of osmanthus cake from the plate on the table and gently placed it in Su Xing’s mouth for her to eat.

Su Xing ate while still giggling, ”Anyway, he just can’t compare to you~”

Taoming Ye smiled and chose not to talk about it anymore, instead saying, ”Once, I inadvertently overheard Miss Wan talking with my second brother.”

”What did they say?”

”I didn’t hear it all, but roughly, Miss Wan took a liking to my second brother because he wants to pursue a martial career and thinks he might become the Martial Champion.”

”Hahaha...” Su Xing couldn’t hold back and laughed out loud, ”It’s possible for him to pass a few levels, but aiming to become the Martial Champion? Unless Tianyun ran out of talents! By the way, the Emperor advocates for excellence over quantity. Even if Tianyun runs out of talents, he won’t let him become the Martial Champion!”

Taoming Ye said nothing, just gently smiled and held Su Xing closer, letting her laugh freely in his arms.
