Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2470: Chapter 2471: Return to Tianyun (37)

”Hey!” The young servant hurried away.

Su Xing and Ru Song supported Taoming Ye on either side, helping him to the bed in the bedroom.

Taoming Ye was pale, lying on the bed, his breath faint, making Su Xing anxious to send for a doctor, but Taoming Ye weakly stopped her, ”It’s nothing serious, I’ll be fine after some rest.”

Taoming Ye was unable to bathe himself now, so Ru Song took the basin and towel handed over by the maidservant, intending to help Taoming Ye wipe himself down, but Su Xing took them over, wanting to do it herself.

”Everyone, leave,” Su Xing ordered.

”Yes.” The maidservant and young servant retreated.

Su Xing, ignoring her embarrassment, undressed Taoming Ye and began to wipe his body.

Taoming Ye, though weak, managed a faint smile and spoke, ”Xin’er, was what you said to Grandma during the day true?”

”What did I say?”

”About asking Grandma to help take care of the children,” he paused and jokingly added, ”Our children.”

Su Xing blushed, scolding, ”If not our children, could I have them with someone else?!”

She scolded with her mouth, but her hands remained exceptionally gentle.

Taoming Ye, however, darkened his eyes, no longer smiling, ”With my health like this, I’m afraid it’ll be hard for you to conceive.”

Despite her blush, Su Xing, seeing his spirits fall, quickly reassured him, ”Why the rush? We have plenty of time; it will happen. Even if it doesn’t, it might not be your fault. Some women just can’t bear children.”

Seeing her comforting him back, he slowly smiled again, ”If we could have a child or two, I would have no more desires in this life.”

”We will,” Su Xing said, continuing to wipe his body, not daring to meet his eyes.

His health may be poor, but she would find a way to nurse him back to health.

As long as her second brother, Su Yixing, treats her husband, maybe he’ll recover.

With this thought, Su Xing felt even more determined. She had to reunite with her parents and heal her husband.

Taoming Ye lay bedridden for several days, unable to get up, with Su Xing personally attending to him without any trace of disdain, making Taoming Ye feel even luckier to have married Su Xing.

Finally, Taoming Ye was able to get up, and Su Xing supported him out into the courtyard to bask in the sun.

”Husband, I dare not let you go out anymore,” she said, having been truly distressed watching over him in bed for those days.

But Taoming Ye gently smiled, ”It’s necessary to go out now and then.” He paused, ”Didn’t you say last time that we should collect the rents from our shops ourselves? Now that I’m up, you should go talk to Mother about it.”

”I would have gone even if you hadn’t mentioned it. But not today, tomorrow. Doesn’t she give you the rent every fifth day of the month? Tomorrow is the fifth. It’s a perfect opportunity for me to talk to her properly. In the past, I didn’t interfere, but from now on, no one will take advantage of you even a little!”

Taoming Ye laughed, ”Yesterday, Ru Song secretly told me that you were like a tigress, catching and not letting go.”

Standing to the side, Ru Song thought, ”... Master, I’ve never seen anyone sell out a person like you...”

Su Xing cheerfully gazed at Ru Song, ”Ru Song, should I catch you too, hmm?”

Ru Song quickly put on a smiling face, ”What I meant was that the young mistress is formidable. Tigers are formidable. I’ve never been schooled, so that’s how I described it. Please, young mistress, don’t take it out on me. My learning is truly crude.”
