Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1248: Chapter 1039: The Weave Mages Once Again Lost in Confusion

Devis said sincerely, “Being a person! It’s better to be a bit more conscientious, you can’t just reach into someone else’s pot.”

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ narrowed his eyes with a smile and extended his hand toward the Quel Senta Mage in front of him: “Ah! I like Mages like you, with whom I can have a bit of mutual understanding!

In the future… we’ll definitely get along very well.”

Devis also smiled and shook his hand.

‘Hard Wind’ stood with arms crossed behind ‘Snow Cloud Peak,’ smiling warmly and maintaining a proper posture.

Standing on the outside watching all this, ‘Perfect Bald’ turned his head to gently say to the ‘Old Age Striking King’ standing behind him, “It’s said that birds of a feather flock together… this pair…”

“Worse than pigs and dogs!” the ‘Old Age Striking King’ said decisively.

“I… actually… I… meant to say dogs gallop and pigs rush… not as harsh as you…!” ‘Perfect Bald’ mumbled under the bright, shining eyes surrounding him.

“Tch~” The female priest sneered disdainfully, gave a cold glare into the inn, turned around, and pulled the always-smiling Edna away: “Let’s go! Before anything else happens to spoil our mood, let’s go shopping!”

Originally looking indifferent, ‘Hard Wind’ suddenly stretched out his left hand and shouted with full sadness, “Old Age! I’m begging you, for the sake of brotherhood! Don’t call Cunlü~”

“Huh?” ‘Old Age Striking King’ put down the tablet in his hand, “You’re too late… I’ve already called her.

Why?

Isn’t Cunlü broke ever since her mom came?

You can’t even look? When did you get so much courage?”

‘Hard Wind’s’ face was full of grief and indignation, “She has it now! Mine!

Have you ever seen a mother-in-law control her son-in-law’s pocket money account?

Cunlü now uses my account!

But every time… she spends my share too!”

“Hmph…” ‘Old Age Striking King’ spread his hands, “I’m not getting involved in your little marital games, hehe~

Ah! Cunlü is already here, Edna, let’s go quickly, she said she’d wait for us at the store entrance!”

‘Hard Wind’ collapsed to the ground in sorrow and pounded the floor forcefully: “Damn! The diamond set Hill made recently, those women are going crazy over it! My new car! Is it only a pipe dream?”

“So…” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ couldn’t hide his curiosity and asked him, “Why do you think at this hour… the set in the store could still be left?

Who are you looking down on? The rich ladies of our Undead Tribe?”

‘Hard Wind”s expression shifted, and he quickly stood up: “Today’s set is already sold?”

“Call it sold? Call it a flash sale.” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ replied with a grin.

“No wonder ‘Old Age’ had to go shopping at this time.” ‘Perfect Bald’ suddenly realized and said, “She still has a few tens of thousands of gold coins with her! Just enough to buy some pretty ordinary jewelry.

Otherwise… seeing it without being able to buy…”

“Budget is nothing!” ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ said bluntly.

“Hahahahaha~” The men let out mocking laughter, including ‘Hard Wind’ who realized his pocket money was temporarily safe.

They were laughing so uproariously here… they actually forgot that because of the sudden guests at the inn, there was always a group of official reporters recording… and reporters most loved a little bit of fun in the news.

If an entertainment piece not only had the causes and consequences but also ended with something hilarious, that would be perfect.

Even though the reasons differed, the Undead Tribe at the port were quite joyous.

But some were in chaos… Turning around and following the Undead Tribe away, Edna left the Quel Senta ladies sitting in the tavern looking at each other, unsure of what to do.

It was obvious Edna didn’t plan to deal with them, otherwise, she wouldn’t have left without even a hello.

So their attempt to join Edna’s adventure team as followers, isn’t that doomed?

This descendant of Azuth, with such a cold attitude, didn’t seem to want to give them any chance to get closer.

And before they came, although they obtained permission from Devis and the Luca family, Edna’s father was not willing to create opportunities for them, he wouldn’t even write a letter of recommendation.

But if Edna disagrees… what use are Devis and Luca?

The soul shards of Mystra have some suppression over other Weave Mages… but for that Archmage with Azuth’s name emblazoned, it’s fortunate enough they don’t find trouble with them.

To know what happened over in Silvermoon City, now practically no Mage isn’t aware… To expel a Transcendent Archmage under the pretense of corruption and even drive him out of the Ferun Great Land!

This… left everyone who knew, just… absolutely astounded.

Elaströ only gave herself a bit of face-saving cover, relying on the fact that the one betrayed was her own daughter which can’t obscure anything.

But, who doesn’t know, the Supreme Lady of the Silvermoon Alliance, her lovers can form a Guard Army!

Isn’t she the biggest believer that love is just a sudden passion that won’t last long according to those Shuni quotes?

Who believes she’d care about her daughter’s husband’s loyalty!

These Mistrala Electors, their methods are too crude!

Now, they were caught in a dilemma!

What should they do?

Elaströ actually felt aggrieved because, after all, she was also set up by Kelben.

But at that time, between Azuth and Mystra, Elaströ could only choose Mystra… Moreover, it wasn’t even about taking the life of Azuth’s son.

She had some guesses about the true identity of that Archmage… Obviously, no matter what Kelben plotted, the one who would end up unfortunate would be Kelben.

Elaströ hadn’t expected that Kelben was also used by the Haber Family… Of course, upon learning this, the Supreme Lady was even more furious.

She would rather it had been Kelben himself causing these troubles… At least this way, after offending so many people, even the Deity of Mages, she could comfort herself, thinking it was to repay some old debt!

Upon receiving the news delivered by the Little Golden Dragon from Agleya through the Undead Tribe, Elaströ was immobilized in Blindale Town… Tampas and the others were staying in Targos Town, so the sisters chose another relatively prosperous town.

Anyway, the Undead Tribe swept through every small town, setting up stalls at the town centers.

The greatest advantage for the Mistrala Electors right now was the ability to fly almost anywhere!

The sisters only needed to check for goods every morning and evening.

Moreover, their goal was merely to prevent the Nyscrolls from being seized by the Princes of the Shadow Souls… They didn’t desire to obtain them themselves either.

During the Path of Destiny, except for Mystra herself, whoever obtained it faced the greatest danger!

Unless no one knew.

But that was simply impossible.

Unless someone truly walked away with a full bag of twigs and leaves, instead of grinding them out one by one.

How could that be?

If they had such determination, they wouldn’t have come to Icewind Valley seeking the dangerous Nyscroll!

Yet, risking life and fortune is the nature of the Toril people.

For these adventurers, it might be a source of pride to die in the struggle for the Nyscroll.

Many did give up, like that Edna who just came to watch the excitement… After discovering Icewind Valley had nothing but excitement, she quickly left with her people.

She didn’t even give Elaströ and the others a chance to communicate with her.

Elaströ lowered her gaze: this descendant, she was truly irretrievable.

Laila being with her didn’t even make Edna want to greet them.

But as soon as Edna left, Manks followed, forcing Elaströ to admit… Edna must be key to a node on the Path of Destiny, possibly revealing Mystra’s existence.

The Soul Shard must have given Manks some guidance.

Elaströ regretfully thought, if only Edna had a shard too.

In that case, facing so many rivals, that obviously clever child would surely know what to choose… With the support of the Seven Sisters, even if her Soul Shard wasn’t as large as Manks’, Edna could definitely achieve ultimate victory.

Unfortunately, the Tablets of Fate would never choose someone associated with them, let alone one with Azuth’s bloodline like Edna.

What it needed was a chaotic war engulfing all of Toril, rather than someone reaching the conclusion of the Path of Destiny easily due to powerful backing… Where the victor was decided from the start.

“Elaströ,” Xinbu casually approached, “What are you scheming this time?

Do you know why you seem the oldest among us sisters?

It’s because you think too much, causing wrinkles!”

Elaströ snapped, “Is it better to be like you? Even Talos thinks you could be a Berserker!”

“Shut it! Do you want to cause internal strife here?” Dove, who was chatting with Storm, couldn’t help but intervene, “Under Tampas’s watchful eyes?

Didn’t you see the Red Knight playing stall games with the Undead?

If you want to fight, wait until I’m gone.

I don’t want to be embarrassed with you all.

Sigh… Back in Deepwater City, I lost enough face… To keep a straight face fighting Talos till the end in front of a crowd, I admire my own willpower!”

Storm calmly said, “One outing is enough, at least it reduces our influence on the Path of Destiny a bit.

Hillen can only surrender to fate.

Kui Lu doesn’t know what to do now!

Even though she’s of the Kind Alignment, Agleya isn’t keen on her joining… Let alone seeing the City Lord to inquire about Elisui!

“As for Elisui, probably sleeping until Mystra returns, Kui Lu should find a way to participate in the Path of Destiny sooner rather than later, or it might truly be over.” Elaströ abandoned the idea of teaching Xinbu a lesson… This guy was clearly in a bad mood, looking for someone strong to spar with.

Elaströ wasn’t kind enough to satisfy Xinbu’s combat craving.
