Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1236: Chapter 1027: Peeker in the Shadows

Hill replied coldly to Talos, ”I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

He really couldn’t figure out what exactly the Storm God was guarding against.

To him, the Wind Divine Power was merely Teraxil World’s reward and blessing... After all, if he truly became a deity, it would definitely be the Earth Divinity.

If he had to branch into other areas... According to the laws he controlled, Hill always felt the most likely would be the God of the Four Seasons.

After all, the laws he controlled could also be said to be rainwater, wind, and earth!

The three merging into one would inevitably change infinitely... And each cycle of change heralds the arrival of a season.

As for the law of storms, he had never considered it at all.

It had nothing to do with him, as the Destruction Element Laws were almost naturally in conflict with him.

Though Hill had always commanded hurricanes with ease, following his heart’s command, they were the pinnacle reached by storms in nature, not like Talos, who contained immense destructive power.

Although it seemed he handled it easily... That was just because Hill was strong enough.

Otherwise, Talos wouldn’t be standing there talking nonsense with him, he would’ve acted long ago.

Speaking of which, the Wind Element Kais he nurtured was quite likely to become Teraxil’s Wind Elemental God, but his situation might be similar to those Wind Elemental Gods over in Toril.

To mortals, these Elemental Gods were basically insignificant... The ones in Toril already had a notable presence.

After all, the Elemental Realm had a vague concept of time, even if they accepted human faith and intended to return the favor... A few hundred years later, the return might just be putting offerings on a prayer’s grave.

Therefore, Teraxil would inevitably produce a Wind God of its own... One that people would speak of often.

Hill glanced up at the fierce-looking, but essentially just a bundle of grass, Storm God... Just as long as he’s not like that.

Sometimes he really suspected that Talos was exploded out from the scraps of Primordial Darkness and Primordial Light.

Therefore, Hill completely didn’t understand Talos’s inquiry and was full of vigilance... Who knew if the Storm God was stupid enough to think he could use him to replace the storm’s role?

After all, he dared to snatch Mystra’s Chosen... A son of Coron shouldn’t be an issue... right?

Hill coldly said, ”I have many blessings on me, can’t you see that?”

Talos glared at him fiercely.

Hill frowned disdainfully and with a swish of his Crystal Fan, twelve Crystal Longswords quickly flew out, forming a sword array around him... Whatever he wanted to do, he was nothing more than an embodiment of this energy level, wouldn’t it just need to be dealt with?

He was already annoyed by the sudden advancement of this Path of Destiny, being blocked and isolated!

How long has it been!

Tal... was always one to sense the situation... Los suddenly recalled the feats of the Archmage in front of him... Ambori and Marla aside, Valkin that rich lady, always used embodiments whose power matched the weakest of powerful divine powers... Hmm... just like the one he used.

He! The great Storm God, sacrificed his Divine Power network, and it wasn’t to fight with a Mage blessed by an otherworldly Wind God!

As long as it wasn’t to seize his divine authority, what’s the problem in admitting defeat?

It wasn’t like he had never done it before.

With thoughts racing, Talos let out a hearty laugh, ”Then... I was too impulsive!

In the future, I will try to avoid Agleya.

Then... can I go to the Great Glacier by myself?

Since you don’t want to handle Toril’s affairs... you shouldn’t stop me, right?”

Then he tossed a beautiful Pearl Fan in front of Hill, ”This is my apology!

The only good item I brought to the Prime Material Plane!

This is the finest deep sea pearl! The best in magic-storing capability.

I think, for a mage, this should be quite a nice item, right?”

Hill couldn’t help but tilt his head... Talos’s clearly fierce eyes somehow only appeared sly... This Storm God must have known that he had long seen through the giant screen like in Deepwater City to know what this fan was.

Thinking that the Storm God actually gave him the stolen pearl fan from Manks as an apology... Hill felt all his strength relax in an instant... He didn’t even know whether to be angry or to sneer.

Then, taking advantage of his moment of daze, Talos fled quickly.

Hill looked down at the fan floating on the sea surface, turning to smile at the harbor’s watchtower, ”I really don’t want this thing, how about you take it apart?”

Lynn leaped down from the tall watchtower, looking numb, ”Honestly, Hill, the image of the Toril Gods I had in my memory, in just this period, almost shattered to pieces.

I truly feel, besides gossip, the elves’ bedtime stories are a bit more real, everything else is absolute nonsense.

Alas! Talos... I only knew he didn’t particularly care about his reputation, but I truly didn’t expect... this much... No wonder the storm would suggest he ally with Rose.

I truly feel they aren’t much different.”

Although not very interested either, as the municipal officer of Agleya, hoping that the city’s finances could rely less on Hill’s Lynn, he still lightly walked onto the sea surface and bent down to pick up that fan.

This thing can be dismantled; apart from the twenty or so large pearls in the center, the others can be made into pearl jewelry and sold at jewelry stores.

As for the magic-storing pearls... Talos isn’t exactly wrong; most mages wouldn’t care who the previous user of this item was.

Even Rose couldn’t stop them from fighting desperately for a perfect pearl... After all, magic slots are very limited, and most people would choose to keep a powerful spell that can only be used once.

One can never have too many life-saving things.

”Don’t say that.” Hill thought for a moment and then advised his friend, ”The gap is still quite big; at least there must be one... ah... a deep pit with maggots.”

Lynn helplessly turned and looked at him, sighing, ”After your move this time, I think no one will dare to test you again.”

Hill sneered, ”Do they really think I can only rely on Shaer and Celene?”

He didn’t even need to mention Lansendel. If he truly appeared to rely on Lansendel’s protection, these tests would disappear... after all, a city doomed to destruction sooner or later, no matter how strong, isn’t worth much attention.

Instead, it’s the Twin Goddesses that cause these deities to be cautious... whether evil or neutral, even the benevolent are the same.

Even in other places, the Envoy of the Night and Silvermoon Devotees are still fighting, but Celene and Shaer actually teamed up to fight in Agleya, making most of the Toril Gods somewhat nervous.

In this world, it’s not strength that’s feared, but absolute dominion.

If the incarnations of Primordial Light and Primordial Darkness truly reunite, joining forces like in the distant past to oppose others, then only AO fully intervening can stop them... But if that God Above Gods were truly going to stop these two daughters, how did Cyric come about?

How many days have passed? Mystra hasn’t even returned yet! Cyric has already caused a mess!

If even Shaer alone can’t be controlled by that God Above Gods, adding Celene would really turn the world upside down!

Shaer probably didn’t expect that, because of Celene’s nonsense, she’d be blamed for Cyric escaping from detention, along with these aftereffects.

However, AO might be very pleased: His precious ventilated little cotton jacket surprisingly turned into a pot stand temporarily.

So, although Hill couldn’t understand why Talos suddenly asked him about Wind Divine Power, he wasn’t too surprised by this deity’s sudden audacity to strike at Agleya.

If not Talos, someone else would have eventually, just that the Storm God happened to be here and could find an appropriate excuse.

Otherwise, the Storm God, who had shown awe towards Agleya just days before, couldn’t suddenly become so bold. Could it be he’s not afraid of those three great divine powers now?

It must be that someone gave him confidence... or at least a tempting benefit.

Upon discovering Hill’s strength was such that those two goddesses didn’t even need to intervene, Talos naturally chose to retreat.

Hill could understand why these deities chose to target Agleya again.

After all, Rose’s attack on Agleya mainly aimed at Shaer... so although the Dark Night Goddess’s direct strike was surprising, it was understandable.

Shaer’s temper is originally fickle, and once provoked, she can do anything.

Besides, Rose... since the battle of Agleya, anyone who saw her would likely choose to strike proactively, not letting her approach their Divine Realm.

No one wants to be forced to move for such filth, right?

And Celene intervened, everyone knows it was for Elisui... the Maiden of the Moon has always admired the naturally inclined Dark Maiden.

They are temporarily joining hands for different purposes.

But we can’t confirm that the two have reconciled after the temporary ceasefire.

But if... Agleya City faced an attack?

That city must have something special, prompting both the Twin Goddesses and Lansendel to choose to stay there.

In the minds of the Toril Gods, Agleya is to some extent, certainly reliant on the protection of these two goddesses.

Coron, basically no one would think he would act for the sake of an elf city, unless they wanted to kill that demigod; otherwise, the Father of Elves would mostly turn a blind eye.

But the reality is... Hill not only effortlessly withstood Talos’ divine attack, Agleya’s coastline instantly transformed from a stormy tsunami into calm waves.

Even without mutual contact, the Toril Gods in the Stellar Realm had a tacit understanding.

The Goddess of the Sea, Agleya is indeed visibly powerful, and the strength of Lord of Agleya is enough to make all those bored tests withdraw.

Hill quietly looked up at the sky... of course there will still be tests regarding Shaer and Celene in the future, but at least not in Agleya, nor involving him.

That’s enough.
