Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1235: Chapter 1026: Talos’s Doubts

Edna was in a daze.

Her companions were also in a daze.

The once charming small town of Tarlegas was now a scene of chaos.

The undead tribe sprawled across the land, tearing tiles off the roofs, rummaging through boxes and cabinets.

Amidst them were a mix of local residents and visiting merchants and adventurers.

If the undead tribe relied on sheer numbers and left no stone unturned, these people relied entirely on their understanding of the town to go directly to suspicious places in their minds.

”Hmm...” Edna whispered softly, ”Luca, do you still want to go down and look?”

”How much should I pay... and how many pages will the undead let me see after they find it?” The Alchemist pondered for a while before solemnly asking.

”Hmm?” The ’Old Age Striking King’ raised his head sensitively, ”Is the Nyscroll something you just read once? Is it not necessary to obtain it for yourself?”

”Of course.” Nasir chuckled, ”Even for Mystra’s Chosen, seeing more than 10 pages is already remarkable.

This is a full set of 50 pages, who has the ability?”

He slowly educated the Striking King on the consequences of reading too much of the Nyscroll.

The Undead Female Priest looked serious, then suddenly waved her claws, typing quickly on a tablet.

The undead below, almost a minute after she stopped, burst into cheers... if they had been carefully examining every item at first, now they began to even pluck the flowers and grass along the roadside.

”Old Dog said... we could open a library near Agleya Port.” The ’Old Age Striking King’ said longingly, ”Isn’t there an empty space between the Harpist Building and the Fountain Courtyard of the Agleya Temple?

Hill doesn’t really like the Harpists, so he never utilized that place.

If we go to buy it, he might agree.

Hehe~

Aren’t the Harpists an intelligence organization set up by Mystra? We can let them watch the Nyscroll Hall next door.

This is sure to be interesting.

Right? Edna.”

”Uh...” Edna hesitated before answering, ”But wouldn’t that bring trouble to Lord Hill?

Surely someone would want to steal it!”

”Tsk!” The ’Old Age Striking King’ waved his hand, ”You don’t understand.

Even evil forces have to consider the cost-effectiveness of their actions.

Spending 10,000 gold to enter the hall and read the Nyscroll once, or fighting Hill, who has several powerful divine forces behind him and can move mountains, not even Talos would be that foolish!”

”Old Age.” Someone called softly from behind her, ”Stop talking, if you continue, you’ll be on the same level as Old Dog.”

”What do you mean?”

”For some reason, Talos suddenly stirred up a big storm in Deepwater City, directly heading towards Agleya.”

”What?” The ’Old Age Striking King’ exclaimed, ”Damn! Even if he’s not afraid of Hill... wasn’t Lansendel, Shaer, and Celene supposed to be in Agleya?

Wasn’t Celene going to have a chat with the Temporal Artifact?”

”Really... just hearing it makes one shiver.” Devis said softly.

He looked up at the inscrutable Nasir, innocently saying, ”Do you think I’m wrong, Nasir?”

”Shouldn’t we be talking about that truly crazy Talos now?” Nasir’s face remained calm, his expression composed, ”Isn’t his storm planning to turn around at Agleya?

I guess he’s trying to scare Lord Hill... I think it’s more likely he’s targeting Olypher.”

”Seems like it.” The undead glanced down at the tablet, ”He turned towards the sea near the Harpist Building... Ah! He produced a terrible sea tornado, there’s going to be a tsunami!

Tasding’s ship is just off shore there!

This guy is really annoying!

Hmm? Why did Hill come out? Can’t the Agleya Temple handle this level of a tsunami on their own?”

The ’Old Age Striking King’ turned around and snatched the tablet, placing it upfront.

”Don’t you already have one?” the undead shouted angrily.

”What? Is it not okay? This old lady just doesn’t want to hear your clumsy explanation!” The ’Old Age Striking King’ glared at him with a strange look, clenching her fists and clashing them together... the sound of the pretty pink gloves clashing was crisp and pleasant, the maker likely studied percussion specifically.

Edna tilted her head, feeling the sound of suppressed laughter coming from all directions, but no one dared to let out a wild laugh... though they had only been together a few days, the team members, including the Followers of the Night, were already filled with awe for the ’Old Age Striking King.’

Then she couldn’t help but lean over to look at the tablet on the small table... come to think of it, she had only heard about how powerful Hill, the lord, was... and about how fearsome his strength was to even dragons, yet she had never actually seen him in action!

This Lord’s way of handling things is somewhat unpredictable; with the style of the Toril Gods, no one would attempt to fight him to the death before finding his weakness.

As for strength... Valkin is still locked up, isn’t he?

Tch, useless deities locked up in prison, while those ruthless fiends are already wandering everywhere!

Hill stood quietly on the sea surface, facing the towering twenty-meter-high waves and the terrifying destructive power above them.

With a tug at the corner of his mouth, Hill rarely set his crystal fan to the maximum, vigorously waving it, sending twelve hurricanes raging towards the storm behind the massive waves.

Meanwhile, behind him, the gentle blue ocean light from the Agleya Temple was already advancing over the sea along the coast, restoring tranquility to the frenzied waters as it passed.

A huge figure suddenly raced over from Deepwater City: ”Lord of Agleya! You! Why do you have Wind Divine Power?

Are you not a Nature Mage?”

”Talos.” There was a hint of anger in Hill’s voice, ”Attacking my territory? Are you provoking me?”

”Just passing by,” Talos quickly explained, ”I don’t believe you can’t see, I’m heading towards the Great Glacier in the North!

This is an internal matter of our Fury Camp... nothing to do with your Agleya, right?

You haven’t said...”

”Haha!” Hill laughed coldly, directly interrupting Talos’s query, ”Trying out Agleya’s power to see if it can withstand the tsunami you stirred up?

Why should I accept your probe?

Do you think I’m timid, afraid to meddle in anything?

I don’t like creating chaos in others’ worlds, but I will never tolerate... others’ insults!

Strong Divine Power... is certainly no exception.”

Talos spread his hands, ”But you have already caused trouble for me. Wasn’t I just casually giving you a slap?

Compared to your secret support for Olypher leaving my faction, I...”

”Ha~ What does that have to do with me?” Hill chuckled lightly, ”The Winter Maiden dared to leave the Fury Camp, relying on the Magicplague after Mystra’s fall, right?

Furthermore... if you have grievances, why not go to her Divine Kingdom and confront her?

I recall... that’s no secret, is it?

Why come to vent on me, an innocent party?

Isn’t it because you think I’m easy to bully?”

Talos coldly glanced into the distance, even he knew that such powerful winds and tsunamis couldn’t be invoked casually... Toril was too tightly sealed by AO, and the Divine Power of his incarnation was insufficient to sustain... A lot of power was also wasted in the previous days while battling Mistrala Elector.

But he had to get that Great Fairy out of self-imposed isolation!

Otherwise... seeing the state of Icewind Valley, Talos couldn’t help but grit his teeth with rage... Who knows if those Undead Tribe might run out of Toril carrying the Golden Apple Tree’s remnants?

Hill silently observed the Storm God’s somewhat unpredictable expression, realizing belatedly that the other party... was afraid the Undead Tribe, digging every inch, might harm that ragged tree branch, right?

After all, those guys truly opened even the rat holes in the warehouse.

The rulers of the Ten Towns of Icewind weren’t fools. Once they learned what the Prince of the Shadow Souls was after, they directly opened their warehouses, letting those people search themselves... Whatever caught anyone’s eye inside, ten gold each, take freely.

If it were before, they would have certainly worried about robbery.

But now, Tampas and his son and daughter were watching nearby!

The administrators of the Ten Towns were eager for someone to cause trouble.

Having simply offered their faith to the War God, while proclaiming that the money from selling warehouse materials would be used to build the Temple of War God, the Icewind Valley people, at this moment, were fearless!

Of course, this was after confirming that Tampas had already reached an agreement with the Undead Tribe.

The scene of those eight-ring professionals instantly slaughtering the Orc army almost made the Icewind Valley people shiver just thinking about it.

So even though the ones bending over to dig rat holes at their doorstep were merely a one-meter-two tall child with a naive smile, these Northerners over two meters tall from Icewind Valley chose to silently detour around.

Just... a bit curious, do these Elves truly believe there’s something in these holes?

Given that in the Ten Towns of Icewind, more than half of the families are impoverished, rats are considered a delicacy to them.

In the rat holes of the towns, you probably wouldn’t even find grass seeds.

The smart rats have long moved out, as there’s little food to be found in the towns.

The foolish... ah! There’s none of that.

Understanding this, Hill’s anger slightly subsided... After all, anyone would want to smile seeing someone they dislike struggling over an already non-existent item.

He managed to maintain his facial expression, speaking in a cold tone: ”Now, can you leave my territory? Storm God.”

”You... Why do you have Wind Divine Power?” Talos hadn’t forgotten his main theme... To him, this was far more important than scheming against Olypher!

This guy... Bringing Toril’s Sea God was about to turn Ambori into Shark-head, is he aiming to replace him, Talos, too?

The divinity of the storm always belongs to him, Talos!
