Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1211: Chapter 1002: Divine Artifact, Once Again

Edna puffed up her cheeks: ”That was the former Mystra.

Didn’t you hear what Nasir said? Midnight wasn’t that good-looking.

There’s no way a smart Archmage like Samast would go crazy over her to such an extent.

Wasn’t it because he saw the mystery and beauty of the former Mystra in Elastro that he was attracted to her?

Replacing her with Midnight’s Chosen... Numia, how could something like that happen!”

Elvia gently hooked her friend’s arm with the tip of her claw: ”Edna...”

Edna turned back to see Elvia’s big, bright dragon eyes almost welling up with tears... clearly stopping her from continuing.

Edna tilted her head and gave her White Dragon companion, who seemed to have discovered something, an exceptionally gentle and beautiful smile.

Elvia almost choked on her words, laying her head on her claws, her long wings covering her head... She resented why she had to be so smart!

Wouldn’t it be better to be one of those fools inside?

Like Luca, who was still loudly saying, ’Lady Midnight looks okay, doesn’t she?’

Edna laughed mischievously, ”But Samast’s taste went from the most beautiful to the most hideous!

I remember Nasray being described as dark, short, and ugly, right?

When people are hit continuously, they tend to metamorphosis a bit.”

”But... isn’t the strange part the gender?” Devis asked calmly.

”What’s wrong with the gender?” Leonard tilted his head and asked curiously.

Devis turned his head and looked around... no one seemed to feel anything about the vast difference in gender, not even the Lord of Dawn, who loves newborns the most.

He closed his eyes, silently reminiscing the past... he absolutely couldn’t let this group lead his normal thinking astray!

He! The future Great Nobility of Quel Senta, the noble City-State ruler, must remember what a noble’s normal life should be like!

There is a difference between men and women!

Over by the Floating Castle, there was also someone surprised by all this... compared to his Chosen, who wasn’t bothered at all, Lansendel seemed much more shocked.

It seems he had deeper memories of Samast... after all, it was him who helped create the ’Blood of Lansendel’ Divine Artifact.

Hill tilted his head to glance at the golden crystal floating in the pool beside the Agleya Temple, unable to help but ask, ”Honored Lord of Dawn, are you still going to keep that artifact in Agleya?”

Lansendel flapped his wings: ”Why bother with that thing, it’s of no use during this time.

Might as well leave it here, just in case there’s some of Baal’s curse left.

The most important thing now is... Shaer! Is what you said about the Night Cloak true?”

”Hmm?” Shaer said with a bland tone, ”What’s so strange about that?

It’s normal for Bane’s followers to have some issues in that area, isn’t it?

By then, Samast was already half-mad, what he needed was someone who cared meticulously, and had the patience for whatever he did. Nasray could do that, so naturally, he won his favor.

Samast’s neurotic demeanor, his tall and thin look, combined with an extraordinary mind, is quite attractive. You know, he almost pushed necromancy to its limits.

He wasn’t even at the transcendent level when Mystra noticed him! That woman’s bedchamber never housed the weak; she wasn’t like Elastro, who fancied pretty boys.

Nasray being utterly devoted to him isn’t abnormal, is it?

You didn’t realize, did you? After Samast’s first death, Bane took advantage but failed in the last calculation because Lansendel interfered.

Later, it was Nasray who, with Samast’s help, stirred up the Dragon Madness... what’s that got to do with Bane?

That guy gained nothing, except for Mystra’s loathing.”

Lansendel finally lowered his wings after a long while: ”I... wasn’t asking about these romances and feuds, alright?

I just want to know how Samast’s three lovers ranged directly from Mystra and Elastro to Nasray.

Even Nasray, who was so ugly that I still remember him!”

”Ah...” Celene sighed, ”Originally, a conversation between Elastro and Nasray was to be with enemies, ending in hostility.

But after your comments, now I only feel the tension between love rivals, leading to a hair-pulling fight.”

Hill silently looked at Lansendel, who didn’t even care about his Divine Artifact, and Celene, who turned an impending life-and-death struggle into a love rival’s tiff, shaking his head in resignation.

However, when he turned his head, he was met with the Lady of the Night, who seemed indifferent but actually narrated the gossip quite clearly.

Finally, he decided to continue watching the giant screen... at least the spell effects on it were quite captivating.

Elaströ raised the Unicorn Scepter, sneering continuously: ”If it weren’t for you, Samast would be Visaron now!

Emotions between men and women, if they’re not compatible then just break up, what’s the problem?

No matter how unhappy he was, after indulging in magic research, he’d find his own path.

Mystra did not deny the existence of this branch of magic!

But you... made him completely fall, becoming a tool in the hands of the Evil God, anyone can use him!

I don’t hate him for his madness towards me, but I... hate your shamelessness!”

Blue and white mist suddenly arose, swiftly spreading across the entire battlefield.

”Damn it! That’s the Mist of Mystra!” someone shouted, probably a Red Robe.

”Elaströ! You’re still so shameless!” Nasray said coldly, ”Unfortunately, the subordinates I brought don’t need the Weave to cast spells.

I will... smash you into a pulp!”

Hill raised his eyebrows, sensing countless undead creatures surging out of the mist... it seems that the suspicion of the other two Dragon Worship Church lords towards Nasray was actually correct, this Bane priest seems to have returned to the embrace of the Tyrant Monarch.

It seems Samast’s complete demise reminded Nasray of his love for Bane.

Hill quietly closed his eyes, gently wiping away the strange associations that surfaced in his mind... he’d been too deeply affected by those rumors, he needed to clear his head.

Bane likes tall and handsome guys! How could he possibly take a fancy to Nasray?

No, what was he thinking?

Shaking his head heavily, Hill revealed a bitter smile... he truly couldn’t return to that pure life he once had.

Let’s see how that Dragon Worship Church lord copes with the Mist of Mystra that can lower spellcasting abilities by four levels for non-Chosen ones!

A surplus of undead creatures certainly has its uses, but those are three magical Electors standing within the Mist of Mystra! You must know, this mist almost grants them endless firing rights except for Ninth Ring Magic.

The Red Robes seemed to be whispering to each other... the appearance of the Mist of Mystra gave them a sense of unease, moreover, they weren’t too keen on helping this Dragon Lich who exposed his identity as a follower of Bane... though they prioritized benefits, they were just driven out of Sel by Sazzastan using Bane’s Divine Power, and didn’t reciprocate to help Elaströ because the Seven Sisters were even more detestable!

If it weren’t for Xinbu’s disruptions, they wouldn’t even have failed to occupy the adjacent Sesk... Sazzastan’s bit of Divine Power was only enough for the entire Sel Plateau!

And when the All Gods return and the Weave is rebuilt, why would they fear that Bane?

Tsk, who doesn’t have a deity behind them?

But they always took pride in being Mages... no one can expel a Lich from the ranks of Mages... they can’t do like Sazzastan, selling even their soul to Bane.

Now, as a result, they could only travel across oceans, crossing the World’s Ridge, arriving in the icy and snowy Icewind Valley, contending for territory with that cunning Tampas... if it wasn’t for the Abyssal Gate here, and a willing Marko to dedicate his life to suppress the gate, they’d probably still be wandering.

Sel’s Red Robes of course understand Marko’s little calculation, not wanting to tarnish his own reputation, nor wanting to completely switch factions, but not willing to face Kelben and Laila directly, so he chose the Abyssal Gate here in Icewind Valley... as long as the Red Robes wanted to utilize this Abyssal Power without any side effects, they would certainly protect him.

Otherwise they’d have to spend money building their own array!

As for whether Marko had any consensus with the Dragon Worship Church or factions like Talos, the Red Robes didn’t know, the White Robe Mage who lost his family foundation no longer held value for their analysis.

Of course, if he were seduced into falling by Abyssal Power, they would still take another look at him... after all, such Fallen Mages have some quirks, who knows in which direction his extremism would lean?

But... since Xinbu wasn’t appearing in front of them, why would they be so diligent?

It’s not like they wouldn’t want to use the Weave in the future, such an act of wiping out Mystra’s three Electors once, best left to the Dragon Worship Church!

Then these baldies who had already retreated to a very distant place finally understood why that Dragon Worship Church lord thought that the Red Robes would definitely be willing to help them combat these Electors.

In Nasray’s raised hand was the Sorcerer’s Royal Scepter that the Red Robes had been obsessing over for a long time!

After the integration of the Shadow Weave into the Weave, All Gods, especially the Goddess of Magic, would become even stricter in controlling Toril.

Otherwise, so many people wouldn’t be attempting to influence this Mystra.

But possessing this scepter... the Soulfire of the Red Robe Mages all trembled at the sight of a blue metal scepter, one end adorned with a hollow ring and the other with two curved horns!

Tsk tsk, even if a person can only use it once, it’s enough to terrify that group of deities!

Though the effect of isolating deities nine days away with the Sorcerer’s Royal Scepter can only take effect after Toril reopens. Otherwise, Nasray, as Bane’s priest, wouldn’t be using it at this time.

When randomly banished by the scepter, Bane is no exception! Instead, due to being abhorred by the Toril world, the Tyrant Monarch is easily chosen.

Nasray is now using this scepter, presumably to counteract the effect of the Mist of Mystra on him... the area he is in now can use magic normally.

Though he acts indifferent, it seems Nasray does not want to give up using the Weave to cast spells.
