Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1224: Chapter 1015: Hill Is a Little Flustered

Gendilarei tilted his head and asked, ”Nasray was probably cursing the Orc Deities, right? Yinafu, I remember, is the military god of the orcs, the deputy commander of Gewoosh’s operations.

Is it because the Undead Tribe appeared in the guise of elves and, year after year, guarded the World’s Ridge, killing many half-orcs, that caught the attention of the Chief Orc God?”

”What does that have to do with us?” The ’Old Age Striking King’ laughed heartily, ”Now everyone knows we’re following the money, and it’s the dragons who are the best partners.

If they’re really looking for trouble with the elves, it can only be His Majesty King Ramriel of Mulan.”

Edna laughed, ”But you don’t take money from evil people, nor do you do bad things!

Oh! Doing good deeds for bad people isn’t evil.

However, I also doubt they’re targeting the elves.”

She, having close ties with the Undead Tribe, knows they aren’t truly elves... Edna estimates most of the Toril Deities, ah, those with a bit of intelligence... actually are aware of this deep down.

Yinafu, being one of the craftier ones in the Orcish Pantheon, surely can see this.

Besides, he’s famous within the Orcish Pantheon for being disloyal, and actively attacking would only be self-serving.

Nasir spoke in a flat tone, ”If it’s Yinafu, that guy has actually been working hard to expand his influence; most of the hybrid offspring of barbarians and orcs are his followers.

It is... possible he would collaborate with those people to strike at Tampas, as orcs... have a fondness for barbarian females.”

Edna frowned; no matter how primitive barbarians might be, no matter how much they detest magic, she wouldn’t be willing to hear such things.

They spoke joyfully, with carefree expressions.

After all, regardless of whether others notice, per the nature of the Undead Tribe, there will always be people drawn to the spectacle.

The path from Hidden Town to the Ten Towns of Icewind is extremely difficult to traverse, with mountain roads angled from 45 degrees to 75 degrees like a sea of cows... but many of them have white dragon partners!

Even if none can match the speed of Arausato’s white dragon, they can still get through... if not spending money, they’ll be keeping an eye on flat screens.

People from Deepwater City exchanged glances... they wanted to watch but didn’t want to pay.

They knew the cost Gendilarei had incurred.

And even if the Chosen of the Lord of Dawn were affluent, they couldn’t buy large screens for them again... the Undead Tribe’s flat screens are quite good, haha.

This isn’t a commemoration for Kelben’s death, no need to waste money on that.

Standing in the middle of the hall, Halaster’s ears twitched, and suddenly he tossed a small box onto the pink cloud above: ”Release! I paid.”

’Hard Wind’ nimbly flipped over, caught the box, and opened it to find it was full of gemstones of various colors and sizes.

Scratching his head, he held the box up in front of the White Dragon Queen, who was lying around doing who knows what: ”I can’t tell what all these gemstones are! Elvia, come, appraise them and estimate the price. This has to be divided with Arausato!”

The White Dragon Queen, having unknowingly turned her head forward... one must watch the excitement... though grumbling with comments like ’Arausato won’t share with me,’ glanced at the jewelry box and reported the price: ”What kind of eyesight? Aren’t these all sapphires?

Aren’t you able to appraise them? You’re too lazy!

Hmm... Worth 1200 gold, four Starry Sapphires, worth 1000 gold, six Pink Sapphires, six Green Sapphires. Then there’s ten pieces of Aquamarine worth 300 gold each, and two Black Star Sapphires worth 2000 gold each.

The rest are miscellaneous sapphires, 60 gold each, hmm... he probably used them to fill the empty spaces, there should be over forty pieces.

Hmm? What are you doing?”

”Calculating money!” ’Hard Wind’ frowned while scribbling with a pen on a sheet of white paper.

Damn William! Just won’t give them calculator functionality!

Elvia glanced twice more at the box and estimated the number of miscellaneous sapphires: ”Twenty-six thousand five! Miscellaneous sapphires are forty-five pieces.”

’Hard Wind’ paused for a moment, rifling through the box and counting again: ”Old Dog, the quantity of gemstones is correct, so the price should be this.

Elvia could hardly miscalculate this amount! She can even keep track of the gold coins in the ’Black Rose’ family warehouse!”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ quickly took the box, picked up a flat screen, and communicated with the ’Magic Sword’ opposite.

As long as there’s money to be made, Arausato quickly completed the task.

In the hall, after the battling parties continued loafing for a while... Halaster left it at that; though there was really no matter anymore, Talos and Karagos, despite preferring to stay under attack, stubbornly refused to retreat... so a second giant screen was erected in the middle of the hall.

Arausato should be stopped atop a high mountain, with the entire Ten Towns of Icewind, surrounding Meldulden Lake, Dinisha Lake, and Redwater Lake in full view.

The camera of the Undead Tribe slowly zoomed, revealing the hundreds of thousands strong army, consisting of orcs, half-orcs, and even some barbarian faces full of ferocity.

And the furious resistance of the Ten Towns’ warriors was plainly visible... though they had filled the outskirts of the towns with chevaux-de-frise and barricades, their faces were etched with despair... there were too many enemies!

The priests of Tampas did not choose to stay behind the army this time. They understood that in the battle against the Beastmen, they could no longer choose to remain neutral as they did in the past.

Even as priests of Tampas, filled with a desire for victory and fearing failure the most... before all reasons, they are still humans.

Finally, the scene stopped outside the small town of Brinshande... where stood a tall, solemn looking Beastman clad in red chain armor, his face and arms covered in scars.

From the red chain armor that seemed to be oozing blood, it was clear this must be Yinafu.

What surprised the viewers, however, was that there were several Yinhun Archmages standing beside him.

”What’s going on?” Even Nasir was shocked. ”How did those guys from Shade Soul City end up mingling with the Beastmen?”

”Is it... those Prince of the Shadow Souls who have been pursuing the Nyscroll?” Edna quietly asked.

The fragment with the memory of Black Eye told Edna that she knew she had stayed in Icewind Valley before, possibly later bought back to Deepwater City as a magic item.

Unfortunately, in Icewind Valley, she couldn’t absorb much energy and didn’t know the full story.

But Edna certainly knew about the Nyscroll and the affair with Windsong Tower... Elaströ was also interested in the Nyscroll.

Silvermoon City not only searched in private but also openly sent people to Mis Zhunuo.

Regrettably, everyone only knew that the Shadow Soul that fled with the scroll passed through Icewind Valley, seemingly escaping over the Great Glacier.

Edna didn’t find it strange that the Black Eye Fragment ended up in Ten Towns... during that time, those guys from Shade Soul City really went on a killing spree.

No one knew how many people didn’t perish in the Nyscroll disaster, didn’t fall in the Shadow Realm, but instead ended up dead at the hands of their long-standing companions.

In the Floating Castle, Hill suddenly scratched his head: ”The appearance of the Shadow Souls, does it mean the Nyscroll is still in Icewind Ten Towns?

It looks like the prince ran away, but in reality... ah, that’s right, a Prince of the Shadow Souls can be resurrected!”

”Indeed, highly possible.

Leave the object in Icewind Ten Towns and then divert the pursuers’ attention,” Lansendel laughed mischievously. ”Of course, if they can escape, even better, but... seems they still got caught.

But, ha... Shadow Souls all have that style of secrecy, they’d rather self-destruct than reveal where they hid their items to those hunters.

After all, as long as the Soul Box is well hidden, they’re a hero again in a few hundred years!

Hehe~ now this is interesting.

Have those Prince of the Shadow Souls, who have been searching for so many years, finally returned to Icewind Ten Towns?”

Shaer let out a cold snort, ignoring the teasing Lansendel.

Hill, however, laughed awkwardly, unable to help but feel a bit guilty... wondering if that Windsong Ring and the Black Eye Oil Painting fragment were deliberately placed in the warehouse by that Prince of the Shadow Souls to divert the trackers’ attention or to pull some kind of stunt?

Yet... Hill had swept up everything with even the slightest magical aura from that small town warehouse.

So, the Prince of the Shadow Souls turned their attention back to Ten Towns... even if they didn’t know exactly where the items were, they could still find them by killing or driving away all the residents and searching inch by inch.

Shade Soul City has given too much for the Nyscroll, driven mad beyond the point of no return... the princes wouldn’t let go of even a hint of information.

Hill couldn’t help rubbing his hands, murmuring softly: ”List, bring over everything I collected from Icewind Valley!”

Hill remembered he had thrown some things with magical aura but were otherwise useless into the warehouse.

Now, suddenly, he felt a bit afraid.

Could it be... he brought back something extraordinary?

Otherwise, why would that guy place such obvious rings and fragments in a small town warehouse that’s frequently cleaned and sold?

Hill initially really believed they belonged to some unfortunate soul that got killed.

But... it could also be a deliberate disguise, drawing attention away and switching objects?

He glanced up at the curious Three Gods observing him... if it really came to him, these three might be willing to help get rid of it?

As for the Nyscroll, taking one look would suffice, he had zero desire to keep it!

When the castle puppet brought up a heap of residual items from the warehouse, List slowly emerged next to Hill with a list in hand: ”Sir, these are the residual items from Icewind Valley after you manufactured strange objects over the years.

Moreover, many items have been sold off or placed in the Agleya City warehouse, and I’ve already informed Mr. Lynn.

Marsha went to fetch them, but that’s a matter from when the warehouse was first built, so finding and re-registering them will take some time.”

Shaer turned her head sharply: ”Hill, you’ve been collecting things from Icewind Valley all along?”
