Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1220: Chapter 1011: The Focus of the World... Icewind Valley

Halaster waved his hand to deflect the series of incoming spell orbs from Othelluck... This was the magic of Dove and Storm, after all, only they didn’t mind these orbs, each weighing 5,000 pounds, being sent back.

When dealing with the Black Robes, pure magical attacks were of no use at all.

As for Xinbu, she wasn’t participating in the battle over here; she was constantly trying to trap the erratic Talos with a Boulder Trap.

Then this Archmage disdainfully glanced at the Karagos who was hopping around after being scorched continuously by Numia’s Cloud Burning Technique... Tsk, with such low magic resistance, he dared to mess with Mystra’s electors?

This giant War God’s mind probably can’t even compare to the barbarian son of Tampas!

No wonder he’s treated by the War God as a watchdog.

Black Robe even suspected that Tampas knew everything from the start of these guys’ scheming... Anyway, 80% of those who wanted to deal with him would try to use Karagos.

Who would have thought that this giant deity, always causing trouble, could survive all this time!

But aside from being impulsive with Tom... the Red Knight’s ambiguous interest... Tampas was always shrewd, wasn’t he?

It’s just that sometimes he over-calculates, the event ends, and he misses out, but at least he never falls into traps.

How could he not keep an eye on Karagos?

Tsk! Forget it, the real conspiracy is probably behind the scenes in Icewind Valley.

Otherwise, Elaströ wouldn’t have left all her most unruly sisters in Deepwater City.

Halaster observed the battle situation in the circular hall; except for those apprentices quite evidently from Black Staff Tower, to whom he’d sent more Shadow Charms, the only others were Manks and that Bane’s Follower with the stench of roses, with some more sent their way.

As for this screen allowing them to directly see the situation in Icewind Valley, the Black Robes, well-acquainted with Ferun Great Land’s circumstances, of course knew whom it came from.

Almost as soon as the image appeared on the giant screen, Halaster promptly withdrew all the Shadow Charms near the cloud that seemed a bit like the Lord of Dawn’s style.

Everything has been so obvious already that they didn’t care about exposing a little more... So the Black Robe chose to push Karagos to the side, leaving a good viewing angle for this group of crazed ladies.

The Undead Knights, given a moment to breathe, glanced back with some bewilderment... Sitting beside them were Lansendel’s electors and Celene’s Archbishops, whose bodies and shields shimmered with rose and silver-white radiance, blocking the ghosts outside.

They could even just set up a Shield Wall and stand behind their shields, watching the legendary story of Icewind Valley on the giant screen.

Is it all okay again?

Ah! Not everyone can just sit there and watch the show!

”Hard Wind” quietly comforted his knight companion: ”Don’t forget, our task now is protective duty; nothing happening is a good thing.

Otherwise, dealing with those undying shadow creatures would be quite troublesome!

Surely we can’t let William ask Shaer how to destroy the creatures they created, right?

If you can avoid fighting, don’t... for the gold coins.”

Although caught in endless melancholy, Elvia still approvingly patted the knight’s back gently with her wing... almost pushing him out of the crowd, plummeting through the cloud layer.

Though the ”Old Age Striking King” seemed very repulsed by that Archbishop, when a sofa floated behind them courtesy of the ”Snow Cloud Peak,” who had relations with the Silver Temple, inviting that lady to sit, the Female Priest had nothing to say.

There’s no choice. No matter how annoying an NPC is, if the quest requires it, it must be tolerated.

Moreover, no matter what, Celene’s attitude towards the Undead Tribe was amicable... even when hitting a dog, you should mind the owner; truly astute words.

Most importantly, this woman was just annoying, not at the point where she’d be wished dead.

Of course, Edna understood why the Striking King kept silent... While this Undead Tribe girl was always straightforward, she was still soft-hearted deep down.

Instead, with the years of teaching from Black Eye and the influence of Elvia, her character turned rather indifferent.

Likely owing to the soul from the deities, she detested those who looked down on her.

Edna glanced back, spotting the wise Snow Old Dog floating the sofa higher... Sariel’s three-inch heels could not even touch the pink clouds, and beneath the sofa, above the cloud layer, was placed a wooden plank.

Turning her face back expressionlessly, Edna clicked her tongue inwardly... Truly, those who succeed know how to bend and stretch.

Sariel not only sat obediently on the sofa, without complaint, but also actively threw out Moon Webs... a luminous silver-threaded net serving as a defensive spell with an enemy-detection function, yet infused with power from Moonfire, causing ghosts to burn to nothing upon contact.

As she turned back, Edna noticed the fury etched on Nasir’s face.

She was late to realize that although Moon Web mainly served a defensive role, besides burning ghosts, it could also burn Followers of the Dark Night... As long as they bore Shaer’s Holy Emblem, they’d burn.

Edna could only smile sympathetically: ”No need to be so angry, you see the rose-tinted Holy Light, you can’t touch that either?”

Nasir squeezed a few words through gritted teeth: ”Have you... ever seen a Night Cloak remain calm under Silvermoon Sorcery?

I... might be the first in history?”

”That’s nothing special!” Gendilarei chuckled, ”Look, even Shaer can cooperate with Our Lord and Selûne to fight the Demon Lord!

When she was fighting outside with Agleya in the Underworld, she was also surrounded by the Power of the Silvermoon!

Aren’t you just following in the footsteps of the Main God?”

”I... thank you.” There was no actual gratitude in Nasir’s tone, only frustration, ”Unfortunately, Our Lord doesn’t like it when followers know too much about His affairs.”

Fortunately, the distressing scenes in Deepwater City are visible only to the Floating Castle and the Undead Tribe... As for whether Kalinsan’s Vila would follow the Young Master to watch, that’s uncertain.

At least the battle in Icewind Valley at this moment is still full of a killing aura... After all, neither side knows they are putting on a public performance.

The Quick Silver Bow in Kelben’s hand, in coordination with the Marksman’s Wrist worn on his hand, shot thousands of arrows... Renowned for his wisdom and decisiveness, he naturally habitually included some Enchanted Arrows, including Magic-Breaking Arrows.

He’s different from Dove; while his archery skills are quite good, he’s not on par with a true archer, mainly relying on magical assistance.

So Kelben mixed all the arrows in the quiver... When shooting, even he didn’t know which type it was.

Though his hands never stopped moving, this serious-looking Archmage continuously observed the movements behind him with the high-level Peeping Demon Eye that had True Knowledge Technique, and the monocle on his right eye kept flashing with Aura.

Nasray was actually a bit uncertain too.

Marko unexpectedly could hold on... Even though the most seductive followers of Shaer didn’t participate in this event, the subordinates of the Dark Sun and Devils had decent rhetoric!

If they didn’t have a silver tongue, how could they persuade so many forces to join this siege against the Mistrala Elector?

Of course, as to whether the other forces, especially those attempting to target Tampas, succeed, he doesn’t care.

All he wants is Marko.

Ah, no, it’s that Dimensional Space of Marko’s which could allow the Dragon Worship Church to rest for hundreds of years at least.

This is the smallest Dimensional Space they can find that’s most closely connected to Toril... And with Marko’s years of management, the magical energy is definitely not low.

Most importantly, Marko’s small Dimensional Space contains a Gem Vein enough for him to build the Dusk Tower!

Nasray looked calmly at Elaströ... Of course, if there’s a chance to make this woman pay a hefty price, even better.

But if not, he must retreat promptly.

His life now was saved by Samast giving up the final glimmer of hope and cannot be wasted in this godforsaken place for such trivial matters.

Besides... he’s just poor after resurrection; although the Soul Casket is hidden well, the resources needed for resurrection... he has only one set.

According to the steady work style inherited from his Family Head, he would certainly be very cautious: if there’s no second body for resurrection, actions must be a bit more careful.

For these conspirators in Toril, sometimes what’s limiting them is not the opponent’s strength, but their own poverty.

Nasray suddenly furrowed his brows.

The Red Robe Mages, after watching the show for so long, can definitely feel that the magical electors have no support left.

Although they’re curious about what’s happening in Deepwater City that could delay things this long, they’re a bit stuck now.

If they don’t act soon, they might miss out on rich rewards... but if they act, they might lose everything.

So they released some invisible creatures and weapons to attack the three electors who have been dealing with the Dragon Worship Church... If discovered, they could claim they’re from the Dragon Worship Church!

However, all these were blocked by an invisible wall.

Unbeknownst to them, someone had already laid layers of Higher Banishing Walls around them.

Nasray could understand why there were so many walls... Anyway, as long as they’re in the mist, their Spells won’t run out.

But he didn’t expect these three to be so comprehensively prepared.

Beside the Higher Banishing Walls, there were obviously other defensive power fields.

Though only a slight fluctuation appeared, Nasray recognized it... Samast had once told him how prepared real Archmages would be in battles.

And the magic electors, who can freely use Magic Slots, could match even Legendary Knights in physique and strength.

Mystra is a very practical deity; the attributes she adds to her electors are all about physique... surviving is the most crucial thing.
