Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1210: Chapter 1001: The Dragon Worship Church’s Purple-Robed Lord

Hill no longer bothered to calculate how many enemies Amanata might have in the future... Anyway, the debt between Vila and him was settled, and no matter how unlucky Amanata got, it wouldn’t drag their people from Agleya into it.

Although these old red-robed liches are not primarily focused on the Necromancy Sect, people from Sel, who doesn’t summon a few Undead as followers?

They wouldn’t dare have their apprentices serve them, because what if one day someone gets lucky and strikes a connection with the Queen of Plagues, Talona!

Liches may seem immune to toxins and diseases... but Talona, to ensure no one escapes her threat, has naturally developed several unique undead viruses targeting these seemingly undying beings.

For example, a type of bacteria... can take root and sprout on bones soaked in the Force of Death. Once it touches, no matter how many skeleton frames, they’ll all be corroded if they don’t move.

Even if these liches, who have lived for thousands of years, have ways to disperse these deadly bacteria, their spare bones are afraid too!

So, the bald red-robes, always harsh with their subordinates and disciples, simply don’t dare to let these youngsters enter their private spaces.

So for some minor tasks around them, even the main defensive work, these undead creatures are tasked to do.

Though they can’t create an Undead Scourge, creating something like a Bone Dragon is still quite easy... There are so many White Dragons!

Elaströ, having split into seven avatars moving simultaneously, charged at a Bone Dragon that seemed dull and sluggish.

She will find out where the real enemy is, Hill didn’t find it strange.

Evil-Banishing, seeing through invisibility, true vision, language comprehension, and seeing through intentions are talents of Elaströ’s Chosen status. She’s able to become a Supreme Lady because she can rarely be deceived... It’s not that she doesn’t care, but rather that she knows the truth.

As the Governor, Elaströ isn’t concerned about her followers splitting into different factions and fighting among themselves since she can see the truth anyway.

He looked pensively at that pale, bony Bone Dragon... knowing he had already been exposed, it suddenly swelled a few bands, but still remained a skeletal structure, with eight ghostly flames directly confronting the eight figures rushing over.

Elaströ snorted coldly, her seven avatars began to incessantly shift forms... Finally turning into two unicorns, two Pegasi, two pseudo-dragons, and a Radiant Magic Bat rarely seen in the Prime Material Plane.

You could tell from their blue eyes that these creatures all possessed a bit of power from the Weave.

Elaströ is indeed the Chosen one who received the most power from Black Eye Mystra... Perhaps this has to do with her birth when Black Eye had just revived from her mother, and power hadn’t fully consolidated, with quite some Weave energy merging into that newborn.

However, this is also why when Black Eye encountered trouble later, she would possess Elaströ in a soul state.

Midnight couldn’t do this, not only because she doesn’t really trust the Northern Seven Sisters, but also because the differences between her and Black Eye are quite significant.

Following behind the two pseudo-dragons, the Radiant Magic Bat emitted a brilliant blue-and-white light forward, as the red-robed mages cursed angrily and dodged... The light of this creature’s Positive Energy, although its cooldown time is quite long and can only be used twice a day, when it appears, it’s truly no different than dropping a triggered Dawn Stone amidst the undead.

No one expected Elaströ’s avatars could transform into such creatures... This Supreme Lady of the Silvermoon Alliance is really knowledgeable and experienced!

”Eh? So the bats from the Radiation Plane look different!” Lansendel commented with great interest... Even with a rat-like face, under the bright and glowing skin, it could show a bit of cuteness.

Not to mention these Radiant Magic Bats’ faces resemble that of a squirrel... Perhaps it’s because of the radiation from Positive Energy that makes the creatures more beautiful?

Lansendel’s interest was immediately piqued by these colorful bats: ”I need to go to the Radiation Plane and catch a few for the Divine Kingdom!”

”Aren’t magic bats always changing colors based on their environment?” Celene asked confusedly, ”When they reach your Divine Kingdom, wouldn’t the green, blue, purple skins quickly turn gold, yellow, and pink?

How would that be different from the creatures already in your Divine Kingdom?”

”At least I can watch some different colors for decades!” Lansendel’s bird-like face showed confusion, ”Can’t I go catch some more? As long as there’s Positive Energy, these bats won’t die.”

”Telling this to Celene is useless, she’s lazy and homebound, wishing everything was delivered to her mouth.” Shaer sneered, ”Her most proactive action in her life was after hearing Shantia’s request, she ran straight to the Eternal Flame that could give birth to useless people like Amanata.”

Lansendel was shocked... He definitely wouldn’t get involved in this discussion!

After all, when the Sun formed, the first light birthed him, the Lord of Dawn!

If these two sisters keep arguing, eventually they’ll drag him into it too.

He’s here to enjoy the fun, not to create trouble!

If he had the time, that’d be fine, but where’s the leisure for arguing and sparring with them right now!

Plus, he couldn’t beat them anyway.

Lansendel shouted loudly: ”That dragon! It has transformed into a human shape! Huh? Purple-robed one?”

Ouch! This is Meng, the leader of the human Dragon Liches!

Damn it! It’s those damned Dragon Worship Church again!”

Actually... it’s not really anything surprising.

Hill thought leisurely, the so-called purple-robed ones of the Dragon Worship Church were in fact those who chose to transform from human into Dragon Liches.

However, ever since Samast... ah, died under the killer of destiny, the power of the Dragon Worship Church was taken over by those undead dragons who had waited patiently for a long time.

One of them was Duogasos.

But it also brought some benefits, for compared to the Dragon Liches transformed from humans, these former giant dragons are more interested in accumulating wealth, each pursuing their own interests, no longer incessantly causing murders and evil rituals in human cities as they did in the past.

And those high-ranking human Dragon Lich members of the Dragon Worship Church who lost their power, can only seek their next opportunity in the wilds... of course, avoiding the attacks from giant dragons who had lost countless relatives and friends due to the Dragon Madness.

Probably only when dealing with them can Metal Dragons and Chromatic Dragons cooperate without any hesitation, even the Chromatic Dragon Queen doesn’t bother to step in to prevent such retaliation for her once loyal followers.

Using tools and one’s descendants are not placed on the same scales.

It’s useless anyway, Tiamat doesn’t even bother to respond to their prayers now.

And after losing control over the Dragon Madness, those Dragon Liches who no longer fear their relatives having bad luck won’t help these former colleagues.

So basically, the two factions of Dragon Liches operate independently... though one faction gets beaten everywhere, while the other can stay underground in Deepwater City playing his life creation games.

Though these two groups of Dragon Liches have essentially parted ways, if there is any need... such as reaching agreements over certain interests, it’s not impossible for them to cooperate.

Duogasos needs some degree of shelter from the Storm God, and these purple-robed pseudo-dragons need a place for peaceful living without dragons coming over to breathe fire, destroy and rob all the time.

The Red Robe Mages... not of the Necromancy Sect, are also a barely acceptable object of cooperation for them.

No matter how hard the barbarians are hit, they could never seek help from the humans within the World’s Ridge.

And Tampas, as long as they don’t provoke the people in the Ten Towns of Icewind, shouldn’t turn against them over his barbarian son... he probably wouldn’t completely ignore them, since most barbarians also worship the War God, but these barbarians scattered in the Icewind Valley probably don’t have the value to warrant the War God sacrificing his Divine Power.

They aren’t followers of the Red Knight.

Nor do the Red Robes dare to be so audacious as to destroy the roots of Usga’s belief, but dividing a big enough territory would not be an issue, right?

As for those trying to mess with the War God... the Red Robes only do what they are willing to do unless there’s enough benefit for them to offend the War God.

So when the Red Robe Mages found out their hidden ally among the undead pets was exposed, they tacitly stopped fighting, leaving the battlefield for the other side.

Kelben and Laila exchanged glances, positioned themselves ten meters apart behind Elaströ... from that angle, they looked ready to jointly support a defensive force field.

Though each leaned towards different spells, by utilizing the Silverfire, they could act synchronously.

Holding the Silvermoon Unicorn Magic Wand, Elaströ looked at the pale bone dragon transformed into the purple-robed Lich, and spoke calmly: ”Should I call you Meng or Egson Nasray?

Ah, but really, this form suits you better... at least I can tell at a glance that you are human.

I’m truly curious whether you now serve Tiamat or Bane?

I don’t understand how Samast could have resurrected you before his death? Could it be that death wasn’t enough to let him see that it was you who turned him from the path of the chosen ones of bright magic to a lightless path of death?”

”Elaströ...” The Lich cloaked in purple, with purple flames burning in its eye sockets, ”Isn’t that something I should thank you for?

In Samast’s always abandoned life, only I, who wholeheartedly led him towards evil, never gave up on him, wasn’t it?

So, seeing only me before his complete demise, what’s wrong with that?”

”This... is another lover of the old flame targeting Elaströ?” Nasir murmured among the Deepwater City spectators watching the Old Age Striking King’s tablet.

His words left everyone stunned.

”What?” Luca was nearly frantic, if not for Edna’s soundproof array, his shouting might have startled those fighting below, ”But Samast’s former lovers were Elaströ and Mystra, right?

How could he ever see that ugly Nasray?”
