Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1242: Chapter 1033: Edna’s Rotten Luck

Edna said nonchalantly, “I’m not responsible for their safety.”

Nasir, looking indifferent, said, “Who knows how much trouble there is inside! Who would care?”

“Again?” Devis said, somewhat confused, “Shouldn’t they be looking for that Manks?”

“Manks left right after us,” laughed ‘Snow Cloud Peak’. “It seems Edna is still the center of trouble!”

“How wonderful!” ‘Perfect Bald’ said with longing, “I hope we fight all the way so I can have some fun!

Ouch! Old timer, what are you doing?”

“Aren’t you asking for it?” Tossing a dumbbell he usually practiced with, the ‘Old Age Striking King’ with an adorably cold look, said, “I’m fulfilling your wish, aren’t I?”

Glancing at Edna sitting next to the ‘Old Age Striking King’, ‘Perfect Bald’ came to a sudden realization and said, “Ah! Edna.

I didn’t mean it!

Don’t worry!

Even if I drop a level, I’ll protect the beautiful and lovely Edna!”

Edna chuckled, “That won’t be necessary.”

She glanced around, then said with a smiling face, “In our luxurious travel… adventure team, how could there be so much danger?

Normally, the biggest roadblocks on the Ferun Great Land now are dragons and the undead.

However, dragons… well, unless we carry a Divine Artifact like the Nyscroll with us, they shouldn’t bother an adventure team related to Agleya.

Even caravans flying the Lord of Agleya’s banner only pay the usual toll when passing through the Giant Dragon Mountain Range!

No dragon ever jumps out to demand more; that’s already a miracle in Toril.

If not for Hill never making such petty money, who knows how many people are willing to pay protection fees to follow the Agleya caravan!

After all, businessmen aren’t afraid of spending money; they fear the endless spending.”

“As for the undead…” Edna said with a smile, “What makes them terrifying is their seemingly endless numbers, but… in front of the Undead Tribe, isn’t that just a joke?”

Although the Undead Scourge is scary, only two or three can command millions of undead armies.

The rest are just hundreds of thousands of undead, plus a few bone dragons.

While any of these may be terrifying for the native cities of Toril, for the Undead Tribe, who can easily deploy tens of millions of Eighth Ring professionals, it’s like someone kindly delivering food!

After all, Toril has a mighty Grim Reaper, and necromancers have a hard time compared to in the Abyss.

“That’s true,” Nasir replied carelessly.

Luca laughed loudly, patting Devis on the hand.

In truth, the most troublesome enemies on the Path of Destiny are… Shaer, and Cyric who always colludes with her.

But Nasir is sitting here openly!

As for Cyric, there’s nothing we can do.

But their followers are currently focused on Manks. As long as we’re careful, keep our distance from Mystra, who we’re unsure when she’ll appear, we probably won’t meet that crazy Prince of Lies!

Luca confidently thought… that among his new followers, whose identities are complex and mixed… there shouldn’t be too many!

However, because of boredom… mainly because he can’t understand a thing about the Undead Tribe’s communication… Luca, leaning on the Cloud House’s railing watching the scenery, pondered: the people beside Soma should be the new followers for him and Devis, right?

Why are there so many mages, and all female?

From the way they dress, they don’t seem of low status, and they appear quite confident in their looks.

Those followers don’t seem like they’re here to protect him and Devis, showing an evident disrespect towards Soma.

If they’re truly sent by Devis’s family, they wouldn’t possibly disrespect this tiger person who grew up with Devis and earned his highest trust!

He’s the future heir’s Chief Guard, and his status isn’t something ordinary followers can compare to!

This… could it be that their Magic Tower’s attitude towards Edna changed in just these few days?

That’s unlikely… the Magic Tower where they hail from is a legitimate line of Azuth, they wouldn’t possibly undermine their own Main God’s descendant, right?

“Devis!” A confused Luca decided to ask the more intelligent one, turning towards the open door and shouted loudly, “Come out quick!

Your big cat is being swarmed by a bunch of… peculiar women!”

Though Devis wasn’t slow to come out, he couldn’t match the speed of the curious Undead Tribe, and could only helplessly squeeze into a corner, peering between their arms.

“What’s… this?” He could hardly believe his eyes.

No matter how stunning those female mages were, Devis wouldn’t be that surprised… The ruler of Quel Senta, known for their luxurious lifestyle, defies the imagination of the unknown.

Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many fools declared eternal enemies by the elves, getting ambushed the moment they stepped outside… Luckily the elves were reasonable, only hunting the offenders, without implicating descendants.

Of course, it might also be that the city states daring to do so have some backing, and with the elves in a weakened state, have to take a step back.

So it’s not unusual for such noble families to produce a few peerless beauties.

However, what left this future ruler of the city state nearly speechless with shock was… all these beautiful mages had black hair.

Quel Senta, as a coastal country, once ruled by a red dragon for a significant time, most nobles have bright-colored hair, even if mixed with Elven Bloodline, the colors are usually lighter.

Black hair… that’s just occasional mutation.

Moreover, the most important thing is that among them are two female mages he knows… They used to have bright red hair!

Even though the last time he saw them, they were still 12-year-old girls, but no matter how they mutate into adulthood, it surely can’t reach the extent of hair color change, right?

And they both changed together! They’re not even from the same family!

Devis was bewildered… What the hell is going on here?

Edna slowly walked out, took a couple of glances, her mouth twitching involuntarily… That old bastard AO!

Manks must have given him some inspiration, throwing out so many soul shards at once?

She’s… still alive, okay!

Just because she doesn’t care about those scraps doesn’t mean she can just sit by and watch as they’re stuffed and used haphazardly!

Edna gritted her teeth tightly and viciously shut her eyes.

What else could she do?

She could only either turn a blind eye, or pretend she doesn’t see anything… Anyway, she’s definitely not going to go down there and bite people.

AO… Is this a test of her tolerance limit?

Or does he know she’s very tolerant now, so he deliberately escalates things?

“Don’t you think these girls have a bit of Manks’ air to them?” an undead female mage compared with the tablet in her hand, “Did they all come along the same path?”

“Then what do we do?” Devis looked anxiously at Sama, whose furry big face was filled with pain.

“What does it have to do with us?” Nasir said indifferently, “Don’t worry unnecessarily; that tiger is coping quite well.

Whether he’s really dumb or just pretending, this state of helplessness and ignorance is just right.

Let’s… wait a bit longer up here in the clouds!

Manks’ carriage should arrive in a few hours.

With her here, do you still worry those people are targeting you?”

“I don’t understand…” Luca had completely given up, “Weren’t those supposed to be attendants sent to us?

My family… my teacher… how could they swap my attendants for this stuff?

And what about Devis!

Does their city state not want their heir anymore?”

“Maybe… they think with the Undead around, you don’t need other protection?” Nasir said thoughtfully, “More than any danger to you, throwing big troubles into Deepwater City is more urgent.

Don’t forget, when they set off, Kelben wasn’t dead yet!

Tsk-tsk!

No wonder they’re students taught by Azuth and Black Eye together!

I remember that female priest of Harua also served Black Eye before, right?

This crisis-transfer skill is so smooth!”

Having gathered all her emotions and ready to smile, Edna spoke lightly: “Anyway, it’s not related to us… Let them fight it out themselves!

But, Devis, Luca, this time, if these aren’t the attendants you’ve had before, don’t keep them around.

I’m not afraid of trouble myself… but why watch other women claw at each other when I find it bothersome myself?”

‘Old Age Striking King’ smiled, patting his well-taught student proudly, “Absolutely!

Watching a show needs to be done from a distance for it to be enjoyable, if it’s playing out right beside you, what if something unchecked smashes over?

Never do things that bring no advantage!”

Luca nodded vigorously, forcefully rubbed his face with both hands, “I absolutely won’t let those women on the cloud ship!

What a joke! If I wanted to live that kind of life, why would I forfeit inheritance and hide in the Magic Tower?”

He turned to stare at Devis, “Even if you’re used to this life, even if your partner is below! Show no mercy!”

Devis helplessly glanced at the undead tribe, who watched him with curiosity and said softly, “I… have always been sensible, and very cautious about my life.

How could I possibly keep such big trouble by my side?

Besides, Luca… the ones I’m courting are their sisters, these few… they’re not on the same level.”

Luca looked down again, “Oh… no wonder they’re all so pretty, and their voices are quite nice.”

Edna was trying hard to control her emotions… She mustn’t grind her teeth audibly.

“Edna seems quite angry.” Lansendel looked happily at the sky.

“Old man’s really cruel!” Celene said sincerely, “What did Shuni do to offend him?”

“Not very capable, but done plenty of stuff.” Shaer showed a genuine smile… Though now things have passed, it doesn’t mean she’s let go of her grudge.
