Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1226: Chapter 1017: AO’s Noncommittal Attitude

Standing on the Floating Castle, Lynn controlled his impulse to shiver... Even though he constantly reassured himself that there was nothing to fear from deities, wasn’t Miliel also a god?

Didn’t Coron appear every day during that time?

However, the three in the Floating Castle were still somewhat overwhelming for him... He genuinely felt that even if Miliel came, it might not be bearable, and for once, he missed his own God of Singing.

One reason was that, as an Elf, and an Elf with some connection to the Dawn Calamity, he really didn’t want to face Lansendel.

Moreover... Celene and Shaer... To be honest, these two Goddesses, seeing either one alone, he might not have been so afraid.

Especially after understanding the ambiguous relationship between William and Shaer, as the Agleya Municipal Officer, Lynn was very certain that unless he was tactless or careless, even if he met the Goddess of the Night upon exiting, there was nothing to fear.

But these two meeting together... the Floating Castle had been shaking for a while, and he knew why.

Hill’s castle was so sturdy!

This was a place where even dozens of Terrys could jump on it without a single blade of grass falling off!

Lynn tried to control himself and said calmly, ”William hopes the three powerful divine beings of Toril can give him some advice.

After all, this matter is something that an outsider like him can’t handle.”

Celene laughed, ”Ah! So Shaer has taken an interest, truly cunning!

Is he asking about us?

Click click!

Wait, I have something to ask the old man too, I’ll help him ask while I’m at it.

It’ll just take a few minutes.”

Sitting in silence on the side, Shaer rarely felt a tinge of gratitude towards her sister: Though she could find AO, asking AO for William felt odd.

Celine, on the other hand, seemed unconcerned.

Lynn silently looked at Hill, truly admiring his friend and deeply understanding his strength: Clearly a mortal... he would not mistake this.

Of course, Hill was definitely a Divine Child, but what of it?

There were plenty of Divine Children on Toril! Not to mention Baal’s indiscriminate seeds, even other deities’ children from fleeting moments with mortals, those possessing strength comparable to Demigods, wouldn’t have Hill’s poise... While surrounded by Celene, Shaer, and Lansendel, he could still calmly fiddle with a picture frame.

Lynn asked quietly, ”Could that thing really be with you? How many have you burned?”

When Marsha mentioned it, he could hardly believe it!

After all, sometimes Hill would use a few charred wood scraps infused with magical energy as firewood to roast duck!

Luckily, he quickly realized that the Nyscroll wouldn’t be so easily burned, otherwise, Lynn really felt his head would explode.

”With my luck, how could I possibly burn something valuable?” Hill gave an undeniable answer.

Lynn was silent; he couldn’t quite refute that.

Looking around at the rooftop garden almost filled with Cao Ping, he could only sigh and smile, ”That’s quite a lot! What were you thinking back then? Most of them are waste!”

”Blinded... by the Divine Artifact.” Hill didn’t want more people to know he was selling Black Eye painting fragments to Deepwater City, so he mentioned another artifact instead, ”I recognized Farisonis’s tablets for Terry at a glance.

To avoid attention, I simply took them all.”

”Oh?” Lansendel asked curiously, ”That dragon encyclopedia? It’s in Icewind Valley?”

”Isn’t that normal?” Shaer said nonchalantly, ”Icewind Valley used to be a place where Elves and Dragons cohabited.”

The crescent chair on Celene’s end gleamed again, and she laughed, ”AO has no interest in Tampas.

He’s only focused on the Path of Destiny now.

Since Tampas and his two children chose to descend avatars and return the divine power channel to the Weave, they passed their test.”

Lynn nodded, ”I’ll go notify William.”

”Move quickly!” Lansendel urged, ”Usga is already injured! The Red Knight is quite battered too.

Click click, the damage from the Prince of Shadow Souls and Yinafu is substantial!

However, it’s the Red Knight’s kindness that drives her to save people... Alas, no wonder she has an eye for Tom.”

Watching Lynn leave swiftly, Hill couldn’t help but laugh; his friend still seemed a bit unaccustomed.

He glanced again at the huge screen where the Red Knight was leading a charge on her tall horse, while Usga, who was initially on the other side, had joined her with his beast army.

That’s why Tampas let Usga and the Red Knight appear together, since the endurance of the Ancestral God of the Barbarians is high, making him more resistant.

Otherwise, in such a battle guaranteeing victory, even if Tampas himself wouldn’t appear on a white horse, he would let the Red Knight show up alone.

However, this time it involved whether Usga would be manipulated by the Tablets of Fate; the Ancestral God’s level is too low for Barbarians... Although his son wasn’t great, Tampas wouldn’t let him die.

Plus, there will be a period where they have to endure alone, so it’s only natural for the War God Lineage to appear together in the end.

After laughing, Hill couldn’t help but sigh... Buying was straightforward, but the inspection was a nightmare!

Actually, Hill knew that if he actively went to dig through that large trash heap on the ground, he might find it in no time.

But he didn’t plan to do that.

He preferred a bit of trouble, letting the puppets deliver them one by one.

He needed some space to think... precisely... about whether he had seen any issues with the Nyscroll.

Logically, there shouldn’t be any.

The Nyscroll, something many deities and archmages from other worlds have viewed... Back then, the Floating City where the Arcanists of Naish lived was covered with Dimensional Gates leading to other worlds.

Hosts of dignitaries, Demon Lords and Dukes of Demons had once been guests.

That was the time AO most indulged these deities and mages, otherwise, Valkin wouldn’t have established a good friendship with that Six Fingers.

Unfortunately, learning bad is easy, learning good is difficult... The entire Toril quickly slid towards the evil end, with ordinary people living in dire straits.

The result of numerous god systems was that some deities not strong enough, yet sufficiently evil, actually made ordinary people’s souls into crystal stones to sell to devils!

This was the real reason why AO suddenly wanted to merge the god systems.

So even though the Nyscroll was later stolen, before that, many strong beings had viewed it.

Given AO’s usual display of generosity and benevolence towards knowledge, he wouldn’t suddenly change his ways... Toril can only attract outsiders with this aspect.

But that guy who loves to manipulate fate... why did he send this scroll into his hands?

Hill didn’t think it was accidental.

After all, the fragments of the Black Eye Oil Painting associated with the Nyscroll, and the ring from Windsong Tower, were found by him because of the Silver Dragon tablet, which humans couldn’t recognize, but Hill, with the legacy of the Ancient Elves, certainly recognized.

Though his hands never ceased moving, Hill silently fell into contemplation.

He felt he was being tested, and it was not just to keep him around.

So... should he take this risk?

The situation in Deepwater City was completely untenable.

After all, Kelben had already fallen, and his promise to the Tablets of Fate was considered fulfilled.

It’s just that he wanted to test the veteran War God who battled against Tampas for many years... only to be disappointed by Halaster after the fight.

It’s no wonder Tampas wasn’t afraid of this guy causing trouble outside... after stirring up things, all that’s left is ’waste’!

Halaster actually wanted to see that Nyscroll... what’s the harm in watching until madness sets in?

Even if he goes a bit crazier, he doesn’t care.

The Magic Electors don’t mind either... Although others focused on the Ten Towns of Icewind, Elaströ’s sisters definitely cared more about her and Laila... After all, the Nyscroll, to them, seemed useful to look at but not that significant.

The barbarians discarded Nasray, now accomplished an unprecedented major event... simultaneously attacked by Harpists and Sel’s Red-robed.

Elaströ and Laila only want him dead... whether from Laila’s mindless bombardment or Elaströ slowly burning his bones with Silverfire, they will definitely not spare this enemy.

As for the Red Robes, things are simple.

Nasray still persists because he’s unwilling to give up the Sorcerer’s Royal Scepter... Initially, he was willing to follow Bane’s orders, using the scepter to create a deadly feud between these Red Robe Mages and the Magic Electors.

It would be best if he could trap the beastmen as well.

But losing the Gemstone Dimension and being tricked by Yinafu... he didn’t want to give up such a powerful divine artifact!

But observers could easily see, either the Purple-robed Sorcerer gets beaten to pulp and the Sorcerer’s Royal Scepter gets snatched, or he throws the scepter to Elaströ’s side and escapes... Bane’s priests, in the face of impending doom, will still make wise choices.

The only one taking it easy is Talos... He’s still not reconciled, even getting cold stares from those sisters, he continues to introduce the benefits of his faction to Xinbu.

Being able to throw tantrums anytime, anywhere is the biggest benefit he thinks of... Xinbu often causes trouble unless one sister stops her or Elminster steps in.

Talos believes Xinbu must be very angry.

”Having someone willing to stop me from getting even crazier is a form of happiness.” The Storm Queen’s face was full of disdain, ”If you could understand this feeling, Olypher wouldn’t have betrayed so resolutely.

Tsk, the Great Fairy is truly unlucky, and indeed blind.

But... maybe to the Storm God, Ambori is more intimate?”

”Speaking of Ambori... Storm God, you could totally ally with Rose!” Storm Silverhand suddenly broke in, ”Trust me, as long as there’s a force willing to accept, the Spider Queen is sure very willing to join in a package.

Even if she befriends Ambori, she’d be very happy.”
