Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1201: Chapter 992: Skeleton Bursting from Underground

Talos let out a sinister laugh: “Come back with me, and you’ll know what interest is all about!”

Xinbu chuckled twice, directing a series of light orbs towards the Storm God, attempting to dispel the various magics embedded in him.

This was destined to be a prolonged battle; it all depended on whose mana and resources would be exhausted first.

“This Storm Queen is indeed quite formidable!” Devis watched from the couch, entranced. “When will I be this strong?”

“First, you need to be a Chosen,” Nasir said, crossing his legs and bringing a pipe to his lips. “Second, you need to be rich enough, at the very least with a lover like Elminster.”

“Don’t say that,” Edna gently stopped him. “Xinbu is strong on her own. Even without Agralunde’s support or Elminster’s help, she is still one of the top-tier mages in the world.”

“It’s not like the Envoy of the Night hasn’t fought with her before. During the time of the previous Mystra, the Ancient Night Temple was pretty active, and they were diligent in tracking her.

Otherwise, why would Lady Black Eye have used the divine power stored by Mystree at Celene’s request? Although she never fears embarrassment, she wouldn’t do such a thing lightly without a reasonable excuse… at least it has to be convincing enough for the easygoing Celene!

Hehe.

Isn’t Silverfire just a bit more effective against evil than arcane magic?

But at that time, Xinbu didn’t have such powerful divine artifacts or so many strange objects,” Nasir said with a cheeky grin. “But now? My God, it looks like she has endless magic slots!

And did you see that six-loop string of beads in her hand? Tsk tsk, it’s all mana pearls.

Give Iltmara two guts, and I doubt she’d dare to fight Xinbu again.”

“So… do you belong to the Temple of Helderstal?” Edna asked quietly. “Do they really fight whenever they meet?”

Nasir closed his eyes helplessly: “Hydra… is it really that boring?”

“The Undead Tribe shared a lot of their amusements during their emotional exchanges!” Edna’s big eyes were filled with innocence. “So Hydra shared some gossip about the Envoy of the Night, which isn’t bad~

Especially since at that time, the Undead Tribe had just seen Helderstal holding the Thousand Nights Petal! They happened to be quite interested in her.”

Nasir spread his hands: “Those have nothing to do with me. However, the current Iltmara actually just wants to complete the tasks of the Goddess and isn’t willing to pay the price for destruction anymore… there are so many lovers, right?

The humiliations she suffered in court have long been forgotten.

But the younger Helderstal still can’t forget those pains… Women in Anmur sometimes encounter situations worse than those in Kalinsan.

After all, Kalinsanian men only see women as possessions, but in Anmur, they’re treated as commodities.

So, the more active Night Cloaks now mostly belong to Helderstal’s temple, and this one pays particularly generously, making Manks’ followers want to switch factions.”

Edna looked at him: “Once we go to Candlekeep, let’s head to Kalinsan! And if conditions allow, I’d like to see Anmur too.

Sometimes, hearing from on high isn’t as good as seeing with your own eyes.

Just like before, I would never have thought most of Olypher’s priests are good people.

But, as long as Talos is still like this, I suppose the Winter Maiden will continue to indulge them.”

“Hmm…” Nasir said hesitantly, “Whether in Silvermoon City or Agleya, a woman’s status is based on ability, not gender.

In Kalinsan… can you stay calm? I really don’t want to get into a fight with the assassins from the Ancient Night Temple; they have divine artifacts assisting them now.”

Edna laughed: “Nasir, I trust that the Ancient Night Temple in Kalinsan would not accept a mission against me, because… I can always ask the Undead Tribe for help.

And most importantly, who in Kalinsan has the energy to become my enemy over such a small matter?

Amanata is now relying entirely on that place, aren’t the Kalinsanians fighting to protect their faith anymore?”

Nasir took a deep drag on his pipe and said, “Ah… Iltmara will be busy in the future, won’t she? The busier, the more money to make.”

Edna looked at this Night Cloak. Sometimes, she really didn’t know if Nasir was truly following Shaer for money, as he claimed, or if… he was also a potential destroyer hoping for the world’s end.

The attitude of this Defensive Mage was elusive and hard to decipher. No wonder he’s a follower of Shaer, known for secrecy.

Oh well.

She turned her head to look at the increasingly intense battlefield ahead… Anyway, in the short term, Shaer probably won’t cause her trouble, so for now, Nasir can be trusted.

“Hmm?” Edna suddenly looked down, quickly added a few layers of defense under her feet, and then turned to Gendilarei: “I think you’d better advise those still standing on the ground to leave early.”

Gendilarei shouted without hesitation: “Enemy below, evacuate quickly!”

Although most of the Chosen of the Lord of Dawn don’t really want to interact, in terms of credibility, they are still very trustworthy.

Edna watched those crouching behind the Defensive Shield and watching the God War from their perch instantly run outside… Even if they were knocked to the ground and stepped on while rolling, no one paused and directly charged outside.

Meanwhile, those flying in mid-air as spectators were all reinforcing their surrounding defense circles.

The female tailor she had been watching was carefully removing her gloves… No wonder so few people could recognize she was a dragon.

But at the same time, some people started rushing inside from the door, led by an Ancient White Dragon that charged recklessly, directly crashing through a wall.

Edna couldn’t help but laugh, waving to them from over there: “We’re here. It’s very safe here~ You all saw that, didn’t you?”

“That’s not okay, what if… Ah! It hurts~” The White Robe Mage standing in front was hit by a liquor flask thrown from behind just as they were about to speak.

“Old Dog, shut your mouth! To hell with your what-if. If you know you can’t speak properly, then don’t speak!”

The ‘Old Age Striking King’ standing beside Elvia looked around and waved his hand to produce a massive cloud, upon which dozens of Undead Tribe members waiting outside quickly stepped… This pink cloud was indeed huge, even Elvia could stand comfortably on it.

The ‘Old Age Striking King’ directed the cloud to float beside Edna: “You all come over here too~ There’s still room, even Elvia could fit.”

Watching Edna’s astonished gaze, she smiled proudly: “Beautiful, right~ This kind of thing that has no purpose aside from floating, only we in Hill are willing to spend money on it!

However, most of the clouds he creates are white and gray, mainly used to make Cloud Houses.

Only a few that suddenly mutate does he ask familiar Undead Tribe members if they want them.

After all, the price is not cheap at all, comparable to those house-equipped ones!”

Edna floated the sofa they were sitting on over, and couldn’t resist bending down to touch the adorably pink cloud beneath her feet: “Ah, it’s really a cloud. How is it made?”

“The starter is only palm-sized, like a Shell.” The ‘Old Age Striking King’ said proudly, “Hill says only our Teraxil’s special materials can create it.”

Edna tilted her head, feeling a bit envious, deciding to save money… Before returning, she must visit the Floating Castle for a generous splurge at Hill’s!

Then her upright body suddenly softened, Edna touched the violet jade bracelet on her wrist, looked at the Starry Ring on her finger, and couldn’t help but glance at Nasir… In the Night Cloak’s puzzled gaze, Edna gritted her teeth and with her last willpower abandoned the idea of shortcuts… simply collapsing onto the back of the White Dragon.

“Elvia.” She buried her face in the White Dragon’s neck, sweetly saying, “Do you think we’ll find any treasure on the way?”

The White Dragon turned her head in surprise: “Hmm? What’s wrong? Did you go bankrupt buying jewelry? Let me think…”

Her icy cunning eyes quickly surveyed the remaining people and non-humans in the round hall: “Tsk, even the Steel Dragons didn’t come.”

Elvia stretched her neck, just about to beckon the Bronze Dragon, when the ground of the round hall was hit with a loud boom, creating a large hole… From which a massive bone frame emerged.

“Duogasos?” Elvia’s voice trembled, “Why would this guy come?”

Rarely was there fear in the White Dragon Queen’s voice, and Edna couldn’t help but look at the broken and ragged Bone Dragon: “This guy… doesn’t seem that scary, right?”

“Duogasos always hopes for offspring.” Nasir straightforwardly explained to her, “He’s harassed females of all species, especially female Giant Dragons with a strong Life Force.

You might think he’s not strong enough compared to Lord Hill.

But although Duogasos is poor at being a dragon, he is indeed an Ancient Giant Dragon!

If not for Arausato being strong enough, and Duogasos disliking the cold of Ice Mountain, the White Dragon Queen nearly became the Queen of the Undead Black Dragon.

But later, Duogasos thought Green Dragons had stronger Life Force, so he stopped harassing the White Dragon pair.”

“Who… is he coming after?” This matter Gendilarei certainly already knew, he was more curious about another point, “Duogasos now hates Zholar-related people the most, right? How could he possibly be helping this side?”

“Hmm…” Edna glanced at the people still beside Manks… Those young Knights who initially snatched spots very skillfully, only to be knocked out by a mighty hurricane, lying in defeat on the ground.

Meanwhile, Jai sat calmly three seats away from the young girl holding the Pearl Fan, his longsword drawn but displayed no tension despite the sudden appearance of the Undead Dragon.
