Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1230: Chapter 1021: Defeated by the Lucky God of Prophecy

Celene seemed to have quite an opinion on the Winter Maiden, a long-standing resident of the North. As she spoke, she even waved a hand excitedly: “Although winter is indeed unpredictable, if she suddenly turns it into a warm winter, that would be a disaster too!

It’s too bizarre!

Sometimes you don’t even know what she intends to do… In a place like Icewind Valley, summer actually lasted for three months!

That’s the polar region!

The sea level rose several meters, and the port and lower city of Deepwater City were submerged!

No matter what happens, no one can predict what decision this Goddess of Winter will make in the end… There have been times when she suddenly had a burst of compassion and rescued the old, weak, women, and children.

But she could also suddenly, recalling the past, become filled with hatred towards humans and elves, and in an instant freeze everyone within sight for thousands of miles.

Therefore, although Talos’s schemes are simple, they really are quite likely to come true, since her moods are too erratic.

Most deities’ so-called erratic moods actually have some kind of calculation behind them, like Shaer.

But Olypher truly acts according to her mood changes.”

Celene shook her head helplessly and looked seriously at Hill: “I think her current intention is to take advantage of Agleya’s light to cut off everything related to the past and willingly switch her faction.

To be honest, I didn’t expect that Icewind Valley would turn into this, and she, always competing with Usga for barbarian followers, would choose to quietly continue changing her faction.

You have to know that apart from winter and snow, her other divinities are all related to people, and sowing her terror amidst chaos is always her way.

Being clear-headed enough to give up some of her evil divinities that she thinks can help her take revenge on that malicious man, even AO finds it quite surprising!

He thinks it might be because Agleya’s divine power is filled with the Power of Purification of the Water Element, allowing the Great Fairy, whose heart had turned completely cold, to regain a part of her rationality. Plus… those two deities who betrayed her didn’t end up well either, even if the existing one… Edna went back, she still wouldn’t bother with him.

Compared to being barely able to be a teacher and aide in the past, the current Edna must be a dictator.

It’s indeed quite normal for Olypher to feel there’s no need for revenge anymore… she probably thought of so many revenge methods, yet none were so satisfying.

However… no one knows if Olypher will suddenly change her mind again and ally with certain evil forces.

After all, even she doesn’t know.”

Hill said nonchalantly: “With Talos, I might worry a bit, because lightning storms are sometimes unavoidable.

If I weren’t here, and something happened to Agleya… even if I came back to avenge her, what would be the point?

But Olypher, I actually don’t care what she chooses to do.

Everything the Winter Maiden is doing now is certainly welcome, but if she has some relapse… so what?

The puzzle lock I set is based on the Water Element, so even if it’s freezing outside, even if it reaches the temperature of Olypher’s Ice Palace, Agleya City won’t be afraid.”

The meaning of his words was clear: even if Toril somehow completely cut off Agleya’s divine power, he wouldn’t mind.

Hill clearly showed his indifference towards Agleya City.

To him, Agleya’s most important task was already accomplished… and that was, in those few years, ensuring his daughter didn’t lose a powerful avatar due to his unexpected incident.

What’s left is Lynn and Marsha, and at most Terry, who doesn’t want to return to his parents.

With the protection of the Floating Castle, no matter what happens on the Northern Continent, his friends will surely be safe, and that is enough.

The rest… what does it have to do with him? He would care about their lives and deaths, but he would never feel that their lives and deaths were his responsibility as an outsider to Toril.

But these things, Hill didn’t plan to speak too clearly; he just smiled and glanced at the Crystal Flower quietly blooming in the pool: “Water, even if it turns into ice… won’t harm me.”

“Your bloodline is really complex,” Shaer said lightly. “No wonder the old man was drooling over it, but now, he seems hesitant.

At least in the hundreds of years with many plans he recently had, his schemes about you… must be the most common kind.

After all, if he really forces you to stay, the consequences would probably be… somewhat unpredictable.”

Besides, she didn’t want to fall out with William over this kind of thing, so any energy related to Toril’s origin couldn’t be taken away by Hill.

After all, Hill seemed to be the type of Child of Nature deeply loved by the world. Staying in another world would definitely cause harm to Teraxil.

As for the knowledge on the Nyscroll, that was another matter.

Toril never minded its knowledge being spread… it was not only very beneficial to the world itself, but also quite advantageous to the Creator God.

As long as there was nothing related to Origin Power, having one more universe know what Toril means is a good thing.

Otherwise, how would Tyr have accepted Toril’s plea for help back in the day, right?

Hill had nothing to say, so he just kept smiling.

It seems that AO’s interest in him is well understood by the twin goddesses, otherwise Shaer’s shout wouldn’t have made Celene react so quickly.

Even the Lord of Dawn didn’t show any surprise… These powerful deities that have existed since ancient times, no matter how complex their personalities, are not fools.

Ah, of course, they have all seen Tyr’s tragic history after all, and besides, AO must have tested William’s matter in front of Shaer.

However, it seems that his little sweetheart didn’t just refuse to bring a god of fairness and justice, but even protected Hill, who is related to William.

At least, she can ignore those schemes of AO, but she definitely doesn’t want Hill to be forced to stay and have any relationship with her.

After all, for AO, Shaer, this daughter who has never been obedient, no matter how rebellious she is, it’s normal, nothing strange about it.

Probably if Shaer agreed to anything he asked, that God Above Gods would have to replay the situation three or four times to see if he fell into any kind of trap.

For Hill, that’s enough.

Speaking of which, compared to AO’s sneaky schemes, the real threat to him might come from Shaer, who likes to act directly.

After all, no matter how good the luck, who isn’t afraid of a kitchen knife, right?

Hill decided to change the topic. He glanced at the picture frame and branch on the ground: “These two, if… they’re not urgently needed, it’d be best to send them after the Undead Tribe returns from Icewind Valley.”

Shaer and Celene couldn’t help but recall those Teraxil Elves, rich as they were, who love to dig three feet into the ground, picking up anything—no matter how trivial—to stuff into their bags, and they both nodded synchronously, which was a rare sight for the sisters.

Otherwise, wouldn’t it be a wasted effort sending them back?

After all, it has to be hidden carefully; otherwise, what if it ends up in some Undead Tribe’s little bag?

Sometimes, they can even dig out stuff from mouseholes!

Hill rubbed his hands and started using Dark Fire and Moonfire to clean those unintended gifts from other deities, as AO had cited.

The first odd branch he pulled out, after its outer sealing layer that looked like a branch was cleaned away, revealed a thin little booklet… a ‘Reflection Booklet’.

This is a monumental work teaching you how to enhance memory and logic skills. To put it understandably, it’s an intelligence-boosting book that must be completed in 48 hours within 6 days… The points added vary with races, up to 5 points at most.

These valuable and powerful books, not to mention price, just the cost of production alone is about 500,000 gold.

And most importantly, when this book is made, it needs to be stacked with three Wishing Spells… Which level of Archmage would be willing to use it?

However, for Hill, this is just something to look at and appreciate.

Not to mention he wouldn’t use Toril’s Origin Power to enhance his intelligence, but also… who, with any intelligence, would dare use a book with unknown Wishing Spell casters?

The Wishing Spell, this thing, has plenty of room for sand to be mixed in!

However, who would place such an intriguing thing in the Icewind Valley warehouse, whose… scheme could this be?

Feeling the obvious interest of Shaer and the restlessness of Celene, Hill pondered for a while and then asked, “Safras?”

“That’s right!” Celene laughed skyward, “If she had used the God of Prophecy’s stuff before returning to the Weave, what do you think Midnight would become?

Tsk tsk!

Among Mystra’s few Lesser Gods, except for Visaron who still doesn’t get the situation, those other two, oh my God!

Thinking of the Black Eye period, Safras never won against Azuth!

If not for the disappointment in Midnight… that old man with the white beard would have given up such close defense… tsk tsk~~

Speaking of which, Black Eye being able to let those two coexist peacefully for so many years, truly a peerless power!

No wonder, she’s getting stronger and stronger!”

“Wait!” Lansendel, rolling his eyes halfway, cried out, “Is that God of Prophecy so strong?

Did he foresee that Mystra would choose to go to Icewind Valley because of the appearance of the Nyscroll?

And that this Reflection Booklet would inevitably fall into her hands?

How is it possible? Is he the reincarnation of the Tablets of Fate?”

“Probably just saw some screens.” Shaer said blandly, “But saying he’s the reincarnation of the Tablets of Fate isn’t out of the question. I’ve always felt Safras likely obtained some remnants of the Tablets of Fate.

After all, people have always wanted to smash that thing, and some fragments flying out is very normal.”

“Then what’s left in the resurrected Midnight… AO can’t possibly accept a Mystra controlled by Lesser Gods.” Lansendel asked rather mindlessly.

“That’s why there’s Edna, right?” Celene said happily, “Didn’t all of Safras’ calculations fail?”

Lansendel and Shaer’s faces vividly expressed varying degrees of disdain.
