Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1244: Chapter 1035: Chaos at Agleya Port

The hostility of the Quel Senta female mages towards Manks was evident.

Having always had conflicts due to their identities, they didn’t hesitate to strike together upon seeing the delicate-looking young girl in front of them.

Their determination instantly made it clear to onlookers that the soul shard on Manks was undoubtedly the largest among them.

They intended to suppress this minor before settling the matter among themselves.

Jason found himself awkwardly squeezed among a group of voluptuous women… more than one touched his face and pinched his sturdy chest.

Yet Manks… even with a head full of jewels, couldn’t make her hair appear above the necks of these female mages.

The smile on her mysteriously smiling little face finally showed anger: “You! Stay away from me!”

“Hehe…” A female mage draped in a red veil, her hair cascading to her ankles, gently covered her mouth corner with the back of her left hand, a touch of cinnabar mole above her lips caught the eye, “Why so angry?

Who knows if we might return to the same body in the future?

This… shouldn’t we establish good relations first, to avoid soul conflicts in the future?

Right?

This Three-Ring Mage, Miss Manks.”

“Heh~ Is being a Three-Ring Mage at eight years old that impressive? Doesn’t every family have a few?” Another red-veiled mage beside her lightly agreed, her cold and elegant face full of disdain.

“Don’t be like that… perhaps she’ll directly transcend upon reaching adulthood!” Another young woman with a dignified appearance and graceful manners admonished with a gentle face.

However, despite the mild demeanor, it couldn’t obscure their persistent actions… Jason had already touched his long sword.

Those who somewhat guessed his identity couldn’t help but sympathize with him for a second… allowing someone willing to serve as a skeleton to face this wave of rouge, truly pitiful!

But thinking of his face, and his identity, even those with no relations to Lady Midnight could only say he deserved it.

As for that Dark Sun follower… the subordinates of Cyric know best how to slip away.

Seeing the attire and behavior of these women and the force they represent, he’d be mad to remain there… The biggest problem in Agleya is that, no matter how angry one gets, one can only talk and not act physically.

Even if Lord Agleya might spare him, Lansendel would not hold back.

Yet even if he could speak fluently, facing the radically different troubles caused by Shuni followers… Dark Sun followers never argue with women unless they can kill.

Him appearing at the port should be the maximum tolerance from the Lord of Dawn… Thanks to Shaer, at least with the Goddess of the Night here, this city governed by the Kind Alignment won’t casually play the sacred game of expelling or killing evil.

Jason stood dazedly, unlike the Dark Sun follower, after Bane’s identity exposure, Agleya was unlikely to accept him anywhere.

Previously they would turn a blind eye and let him into the hotel… but after Rose caused another scene, it’s no longer possible.

So he could only stay beside Manks.

Yet he wasn’t completely foolish, after being harassed to the limit, he quickly held his long sword around him, parted the ladies, turned and rushed back to the carriage.

“Jason!” Manks called angrily, “What are you doing?”

“Agleya does not welcome Bane’s followers.” Jason said coldly, “You haven’t noticed the mist enveloping the city? Every drop of water warns me that I am an unwelcome person.

If I dare to leave this road, that Golden Dragon standing on the hotel rooftop will strike immediately, right?

Either return to the carriage, leave here first, head to Deepwater City and then consider where to go next.

Or you talk to those women yourself, I’m not interested in company.”

Manks suddenly screamed, startling the interested Quel Senta ladies, then the black-haired young girl fiercely glared at them and rushed back into the carriage.

“What do you say… What is Manks thinking now?” Celene happily spoke.

“If according to the Undead Tribe, every sneeze is someone cursing him, the old man should have no time to breathe now.” Shaer spitefully said each word full of schadenfreude.

“This guy, his identity must be unusual.” Celene laughed twice, “At least for the old man… not that easily solved.

Guess he’s on par with the Lady of Pain, and can only use such indirect means to force him to reveal identity.

Tut-tut, this must have been an incarnation lurking in Toril before Mystra’s fall, even world restructuring couldn’t throw her out… Toril truly, accommodates all kinds!

Hmm?

Hmm…

Hill… what are you eating?”

“Durian egg custard pie.” Hill swallowed the food in his mouth and smiled, “Would you like to try? It’s actually quite tasty.”

Celene paused for two seconds, then said cheerfully, “Mango smoothie too.”

Hill certainly wasn’t foolish enough to send up only one serving.

Not only did Lansendel not refuse, even Shaer silently accepted his gesture, picking up the delicate crystal fork.

The rooftop garden was filled with the unique aroma of durian, slowly drifting down to the large garden below.

A tall tree suddenly had its leaves shake, but soon returned to calm.

Agleya Port became lively once again.

Manks’ carriage stopped on the road outside the inn, windows tightly shut… but refused to move.

It seemed she knew Deepwater City wouldn’t welcome him at this moment… After all, the Black Staff Tower hadn’t collapsed yet.

Though Kelben was trying to lessen the grip his nephew Danilo had on Deepwater City, that was not his nominal nephew, but his granddaughter’s child… a descendant of him and the wife he truly loved in the past, so Blackstaff’s approach was relatively gentle.

Danilo was a righteous man, and he intended to step back himself.

Thus, with no overt power struggle at the Black Staff Tower, and Kelben’s soul inevitably needing to rest for a time, while Laila had no desire to take over or send any of her sons there, Danilo directly took over.

Although Danilo had many disagreements with Kelben and was hurt when his ‘Uncle Kael’ abandoned him, a righteous person always thinks of past good actions in such situations.

Therefore, the first thing Danilo did upon assuming power was to publicly declare Miss Manks as unwelcome.

He had always been bold in action, was not a Chosen of Mystra, and maintained good relations with the Harpist gods, having friends in both the Elf Deity System and the Natural Divine System, thus could act boldly… Even if Elaströ and the others were frustrated and angry, they couldn’t exactly point at Miss Manks, who possessed fragments of Mystra, and scold her.

Manks knew very well that the Black Staff Tower, now fully fortified like a hedgehog, might directly cast a Disintegration Spell the moment she steps into Deepwater City.

She still wanted this body… Losing it would make finding another suitable form difficult for her.

So she could only wait here for Edna and the others to depart… She didn’t actually believe that girl was Mystra, knowing that she had grabbed a piece of Mystra’s soul fragment at the very first moment of the Weave’s collapse, and it wasn’t small.

Back when Midnight obtained the Black Eye fragment, it was also just this size.

Thus, Manks absolutely did not believe Edna could be Mystra without any sensation… unless the soul shard on that guy was more than ten times hers!

How could that be?

But Edna was the one who initiated the Path of Destiny, and she wouldn’t misjudge this.

After all, being an outsider, AO wouldn’t choose her for anything, so she could only follow the path alongside the Key!

The Quel Senta ladies glanced over and gigglingly entered the inn’s hall, sitting at a long table perfectly situated to see the carriage outside the door.

Their behavior was very much in line with the Shuni Church’s style… arousing great interest among travelers already displeased with Agleya inns for their lack of singers, dancers, and maidens providing unique services.

However, the Shuni Church ladies were always voluntary, no possibility of forceful trading.

Thus the inn’s hall swiftly fell into an insufferable atmosphere for onlookers… Various men showed off their masculinity hoping for a little red hint.

Terry quickly noticed the unusual atmosphere of his tavern and finally slid down from the roof… Ever since his true form was exposed, he really didn’t like using that glove.

Only for the daily six-hour unmovable sale boy time was he absolutely stationary, while all other times he worked hard to strengthen his dragon form, hoping to soon transform into human shape without Strange Objects.

After all, the Strange Objects gloves he had came from his dad and were flawed, only capable of recording two forms… one as a teenager, and one as just coming of age.

The face appeared somewhat childish.

Terry believed his transformation would certainly mature a lot… He hoped to be the wine-selling big brother, and not constantly called ‘cute little brother’ by the Undead tribe.

Though he wouldn’t stop earning money because of such names, Terry still had pride!

The Little Golden Dragon put on the glove, transformed into a human, walked to his counter, sat in a high chair, and stared displeased at those flamboyant humans.

His dragon pressure wasn’t very strong, but enough for these men whose heads were already inflamed, most returned to their positions under the heavy pressure.

Terry leaned on the counter, gazing intently at those ladies who incited this commotion… were they really fragments of Mystra’s soul?

But wasn’t this fluctuation too obvious?

He couldn’t help turning his head towards the North… Did Elaströ know about this situation now?
