Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1238: Chapter 1029: Well, It’s Not My Fault Anyway

Lynn clearly understood what Hill meant in his words.

He was actually a bit shocked... However, considering the fact that the person in question was Tiamat, who would steal from her own devotees’ vault, it was understandable.

Since there was no need to worry about Tiamat coming down one day to cause trouble, Hill naturally wouldn’t go looking for it himself.

However, now he understood why Celene chose to take that emerald small ball... If it was with Hill, Tiamat might just choose another method even if she knew about it, rather than stubbornly demanding it from him.

After all, to the Chromatic Dragon Queen, anything that could be thrown out as bait, even a Divine Artifact, certainly didn’t appeal to her as much as a mountain of gold.

However, if she didn’t handle it herself... how many dragons could actually face this Lord of Agleya?

Tiamat has never been the kind of iron lady who sticks to one path to the end, changing directions is her style.

However, it’s obvious Celene doesn’t want the fun to disappear just like that, or to happen in a place she is not paying attention to.

”So, Hill.” Lynn brought the topic back, ”On Agleya’s list of enemies, should we add Talos besides Bane and Rose?”

”Agleya...” Hill wanted to say that any evil was never welcome, but thought of the Goddess of the Night in the castle and the Follower of the Night beside Edna, and had to swallow his words.

Perhaps when Hydra returns after delivering the Divine Artifact, they might go for a drink in the tavern!

Although they definitely wouldn’t enter Agleya City, and his Floating Castle is in the port town’s area... anyway, Hill never does such boring things as deceiving himself.

He is truly not interested in becoming the laughing stock of others for no reason.

”How about this...” Hill pondered for a moment and said, ”Talos’s followers will just be on the vigilance list, no need to drive them away upfront.

But if they do have any acts of hostility, then set them as unwelcome.

I don’t care who walks on the Ferun Giant Road, but absolutely don’t allow them into Luskan and the port town, including hotels and the port.”

”Got it.” Lynn raised an eyebrow.

Hill’s working style is interesting, he never likes to be aggressive, and his methods are gentle. But once he turns his back, he is very decisive, leaving no room for maneuver.

”By the way, Lynn.” Hill clenched his fist and coughed lightly, ”What do you think of the idea of the ’Snow Cloud Peak’ Undead Tribe?”

Lynn looked at him with confusion, ”You mean that... Snow Old Dog? He said what... are you crazy!

You’re putting that thing in Agleya?”

”Ah...” Hill said a bit hesitantly, ”Haven’t you always wanted to find an economic pillar for Agleya?

The tax from that library is probably enough for Agleya to last until the end of time, right?

Anyway, you could find a way to hand it to the Undead Tribe!”

Lynn shook his head vigorously, ”No! Absolutely not! That kind of thing! If you are reluctant to part with the channel you dug yourself, just place it in Luskan! Just right, Laila is still the Chosen of the Goddess of Magic! How fitting!

Our Miliel will definitely not take this burden! Absolutely not!”

Hill helplessly abandoned this seemingly nice idea.

”Then when... would it be more appropriate to hand it to Edna?” He murmured reluctantly.

When the research on those Nyscroll Chapters was clear, Hill planned to take the essence five pages to Fran for a look.

If Fran still has strength after reading it, then take two more Chapters.

If it weren’t for the fact that his grandfather’s spiritual power was strong enough and was proficient in all laws, Hill wouldn’t dare to dream so much.

After all, isn’t the full proficiency of laws just the Primordial Power?

So Fran should have resistance similar to the Magic Elector. Eight pages are probably his limit.

Hill planned to keep some reserve and remind his grandfather not to accept any scroll gifts... He was absolutely not worried about Fran’s will.

If it were Adrian, Hill reckoned he’d only dare let him see one page.

”Do you want to see a page?” Hill suddenly remembered and turned to ask Lynn, ”Bards need intelligence too!”

”No.” Lynn decisively shook his head, ”That stuff is addictive, and my willpower isn’t enough.

Let’s talk again when there’s a chance in the future!”

”Edna... should take that thing away, right?” Hill asked hopefully, ”Otherwise, it should be placed in Harua, right?

That’s where the Mages belong...”

”Why are you daydreaming all day today?” Lynn cruelly interrupted Hill, ”Edna has publicly said she is the future governor of the Hidden Town.

Hehe~ You have only three cities, except Agleya, one belongs to the Chosen of the Goddess of Magic, the other... probably has an even bigger future in the future.

But that’s pretty good too, at least on the Hidden Forest side, it certainly won’t need Agleya’s aid in the future, they’re the richest place.

Hill dejectedly waved his hand: ”Ah! I’m going back to the castle.

Let’s not mention this for now... When the cart reaches the mountain, there must be a way through. Maybe in a couple of days, there will be... new hope!”

The reason he thought Old Dog’s idea wasn’t too bad was because of Edna’s words!

Moreover, that little goddess above the clouds was rolling her eyes quickly, probably moved as well.

Heh, just thinking about it, the Mystra Sacred Land might have to change locations in the future.

Since it was going to appear in his territory anyway, Hill, of course, would first ask Lynn if he wanted it!

But since Lynn said it like this... even bringing up his rarely used status as a Chosen, Hill could only abandon this interesting thought.

Oh, the main thing is, he can’t do this in his own name, after all, the theft of the Nyscroll back then... the Elf Mages were definitely the main force.

As a well-known descendant of Coron, it’s best not to stand blatantly in the open.

Really a bit of a pity.

Hill thought to himself lightly, if the Undead Tribe were to create this library, there would surely be a lot of fun to watch.

Someone dared to snatch AO’s Tablets of Fate, so what even is Mystra and a few strong divine powers?

By then, the Undead Tribe would surely put on a daily library defense show for him to watch.

Returning to the Floating Castle, Hill’s steps suddenly hesitated... He was met with two curious, charming faces, and a fluffy bird face full of curiosity.

”Hill, are you interested in turning the Fairy Town of Kalinsan into your direct territory as well?” Celene asked curiously.

”I’m not interested in territories that haven’t provoked me.

Vila will eventually take the Little Fairies back to Agleya.” Hill replied swiftly.

”Then it’s not interesting.” The Maiden of the Moon said disappointedly.

Hill looked at her, puzzled.

”Talos didn’t go north, instead he turned around the outer sea to Kalinsan.

Olypher, attacked by him from afar, might come out, but with the Storm God nearby, even if Talos blew up the entire Arctic Circle, she could still hide to the end.

But Tampas is still there! Talos has the guts to scheme against him, but not the guts to confront him directly.

Don’t be fooled, Tampas is unwilling to make a move on anyone, but he’s happy to use a weak incarnation like Talos to establish his authority.

Not to mention Talos provoked him first.” Shaer said flatly, ”So that Storm God is actually heading toward Agleya.

And having failed, he’d naturally go about his own business.

He has a manifestation in Kalinsan called Bel Los, a dark-skinned, turban-wearing divine beast emerging from the sand.

Though his faith power is quite complex, with influence mainly in desert regions, and no power outside Kalinsan and Anmur’s border, in that area, he’s equivalent to intermediate divine power and still a terrestrial deity.

Talos probably plans to unify this manifestation with himself.”

”He really hates Amanata!” Lansendel said with emotion, ”Bel Los has always refused to acknowledge any connection with himself, worried that if he were ever killed, he wouldn’t even have a chance for resurrection.

So he’s always kept the desert storm very distinct from himself... Every time he acts, it’s a windstorm, a flash of lightning and a roar of thunder. Really looks like an Ocean Storm Lord.

We actually all know, but we couldn’t care less about such trivia, after all... storms won’t vanish, and even if he falls and has no chance of resurrection, sooner or later a new Storm God will appear.

In Toril, to be honest, there hasn’t been the luck to produce any normal deities, otherwise, AO would not keep trying to bring people in from outside.

The next one being better is almost impossible. The next one being worse, that’s... hehe... normal.”

”Isn’t Edna great!” Celene tilted her head and thought for a while before coming up with a candidate.

”She... though her soul comes from Midnight, her teacher is Black Eye and the Mithril Elves, her environment is created by the foreign undead tribes, especially the strongest ones.” Lansendel couldn’t resist complaining, ”If she could still turn out to be a fool, then one could only say... ah, AO might as well stuff a White Dragon into the Weave.”

Hill turned to look at the three powerfully divine individuals chatting away... suddenly feeling a bit sorry for that God Above Gods.

Then he immediately returned to his place to pick up the Nyscroll, before immersing himself in knowledge, Hill said casually: ”Also wondering... when would it be suitable to give this scroll to Edna?”

Shaer naturally replied: ”After she arrives in Kalinsan.”

Hill looked up puzzled: Candlekeep is the most suitable place to stash this thing, isn’t it?

”Edna’s journey of trials is almost turning into a Northland sightseeing tour.” Shaer said sharply, ”With the Undead Tribe around, where else could give her sufficient sense of crisis and longing for her divine identity?

Now Edna probably only fears her time in Toril is too short?

Talos, Amanata, and also the Sel Necromancer attempting to strike at Kalinsan, might be enough to give her a scare!”

Hill silently bowed his head, secretly grumbling... Who can be blamed for that? Anyway, not me.
