My Alleged Husband

Chapter 146: Chapter 130 Let’s Talk!_1

Zhang Zhentian took the initiative to pick up his phone and give Li Jiayuan a call.

”What’s up?” Li Jiayuan asked Zhang Zhentian in a disinterested tone.

Upon hearing Li Jiayuan’s tone, Zhang Zhentian thought she seemed quite relaxed, not at all like someone who was about to go through a breakup.

”Do you have time? Xia Jing and I would like to have a talk with you!” Zhang Zhentian revealed the reason for his call.

Li Jiayuan laughed and said to Zhang Zhentian, ”May I ask who you are, and why should I come out to talk to you? Or do you think you’re very charming?”

Zhang Zhentian was infuriated by the response—Li Jiayuan was just too impolite.

Zhang Zhentian forcibly suppressed the anger that Li Jiayuan had ignited in him and said to her, ”If you don’t want to lose Xiao Wei, if you don’t want your child to lose a father, then you’d better come out!”

That comment actually had an effect on Li Jiayuan. Upon hearing it, she loosened up, ”Tell me, where shall we meet?”

”How about the Star Coffee Shop? Don’t be late!” Zhang Zhentian hung up after speaking, not wanting to exchange another word with Li Jiayuan. He felt that every word he spoke to her was an insult to his intellect.

Xia Jing watched as Li Jiayuan’s words turned Zhang Zhentian’s face green with rage and barely holding back laughter, she asked him, ”So, is she coming out?”

Zhang Zhentian gave Xia Jing a disgruntled look. Why didn’t Xia Jing ask why he was so angry and only cared about Xiao Wei’s affairs?

”She agreed to meet, at the Star Coffee Shop. Hey, why don’t you show some concern for me? I’m your husband, do you think it’s appropriate for you to be concerned about Xiao Wei all the time?”

”Oh, Zhentian, can I interpret your behavior as jealousy?” Xia Jing said with a teasing smile, looking at Zhang Zhentian, ”I’m joking, let’s go!”

Just as Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian were about to leave through the front door, Old Master Zhang came up from behind and asked them, ”Where are you two off to?”

Xia Jingyi was startled by Elder Zhang’s sudden question. Turning around, Zhang Zhentian said to him, ”Dad, I wanted to take Xia Jing out for a bit.”

”What for? Isn’t it better to stay at home? It’s so unsafe outside, you should not go out.” Old Master Zhang said stoically to Zhang Zhentian.

Xia Jing knew Old Master Zhang would say that. She looked up at Zhang Zhentian, who got her message, and he continued to Elder Zhang, ”Dad, I know you want what’s best for Xia Jing and me. But think about it, Jing has been staying at home without getting any exercise every day. That’s not good for the baby’s development. If you want a grandchild with exceptional intelligence, then you should let me take Xia Jing out for walks from time to time... it’s good for the child’s cognitive development...”

True to his lineage as Old Master Zhang’s son, Zhang Zhentian knew that if he wanted to go out smoothly, he’d have to leverage the child that his father had been eagerly anticipating.

Old Master Zhang, upon hearing this, felt there might be some truth to Zhentian’s words and could only agree, ”Alright, go together in the future, just make sure to prioritize your safety!”

”Thank you, Dad!”

Xia Jing was overjoyed—it finally seemed they were able to go out.

An hour later, at Star Coffee Shop!

Upon their arrival, Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian saw Li Jiayuan already seated there.

”Speak up, what’s so important that you had to meet in person?” Just as the waiter brought over a glass of water for Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian, Li Jiayuan said.

Xia Jing looked at Li Jiayuan’s indifferent attitude, and it made her uncomfortable.

”Li Jiayuan, I just want to know what exactly you said to Xiao Wei, and why has he become like this? Have you forgotten what you told me before?” Xia Jing looked at Li Jiayuan, who showed no regard for her and Zhang Zhentian, feeling that there was no need to save any face for Li Jiayuan.

As Li Jiayuan listened to Xia Jing’s words, she remembered that she had once said that after marrying Xiao Wei, she would definitely not let him suffer any grievances, that she would never lose her temper with him, and certainly not act like a spoiled young lady...

”Yes, I did say those things, but so what? Who can guarantee they’ll never change?” Li Jiayuan rebutted Xia Jing forcefully.

Xia Jing couldn’t help but sneer, ”Li Jiayuan, oh Li Jiayuan, you are indeed a talent. Xiao Wei treats you so well, how can you bear to hurt him like this? If I had known you were this kind of person, I would never have agreed to your marriage with Xiao Wei. Do you know why Xiao Wei is unwilling to forgive you? It’s because you don’t respect me, his sister!”

Li Jiayuan laughed disdainfully, ”Sister? Xia Jing, do you think you’re worthy? Xiao Wei is my husband, what does he have to do with you? How I treat him is my business. As long as you don’t meddle, all will be well! Sister, indeed. If you were my real sister, I would have kicked you out of the house a long time ago!”

Xia Jing didn’t expect Li Jiayuan to say such things, and Zhang Zhentian never thought that Li Jiayuan, seemingly gentle and frail, could be so malicious.

”Yes, I’m not worthy, but are you? Li Jiayuan, I think you know very well that Xiao Wei is thoroughly disappointed with you now. If you really don’t want to lose such a good man, then show me some respect. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. There are a lot of things I don’t hold against you, just for Xiao Wei’s sake, but that doesn’t mean I, Xia Jing, am afraid of you. Let me clarify something for you—I’ve already contacted Xiao Wei, and he is determined to divorce you. If you continue to be unchangeable, then get ready for the divorce!”

Li Jiayuan was stunned. Xiao Wei would divorce her because of Xia Jing? That was impossible, Li Jiayuan would never believe Xiao Wei would do such a thing. She yelled at Xia Jing, ”Xia Jing, don’t talk nonsense here. Xiao Wei won’t do this. He loves me so much, how could he bear to divorce me?”

Unable to accept this reality, Xia Jing retorted to Li Jiayuan, ”You still know that he loves you? You can cold-heartedly hurt someone you love, so why can’t he leave you to start a new life?”

Li Jiayuan fell apart emotionally; she knew very well that she couldn’t be without Xiao Wei. She truly loved Xiao Wei—it was just that she went about it the wrong way, causing the current situation.

”Li Jiayuan, you should leave some room for maneuver in your actions so that you don’t end up with nothing in the end. Finding someone who loves you with all their heart is not easy. Don’t think that you can recklessly hurt him and he will forgive you time and time again!” After speaking, Xia Jing left with Zhang Zhentian.

Li Jiayuan couldn’t believe it; she didn’t believe that Xiao Wei would do that.

Li Jiayuan sent an email to Xiao Wei on her phone: Xiao Wei, how are you doing with your decision? When are you coming back? The child and I are waiting for you to come home. I was wrong before, I shouldn’t have been so willful. Please forgive me, okay? I really love you, and I sincerely want to be with you for life, so please come back quickly. I’ll never be like that again, just as long as you don’t leave me. Please, I beg you to come back!”

Xiao Wei looked at the email Li Jiayuan had sent him. He didn’t know how to respond to Li Jiayuan; he didn’t even know if she genuinely realized her mistake or if she was just lying to keep him by her side!

”Jiayuan, maybe after some time you’ll think that it’s better for us to just be friends...”

After reading the message Xiao Wei replied, Li Jiayuan believed it to be true—everything Xia Jing had said.

”No, it can’t be. My dear, you’re lying to me, aren’t you? You still love me in your heart, don’t you?”

Xiao Wei didn’t say anything for a long time; he had to admit that when his heart ached, he longed for her even more, even though she had deeply hurt him. Yet he still loved Li Jiayuan.

”Jiayuan, you’ll understand a lot of things in time. I don’t know how to face you right now. I don’t want to give up on my child, but you’ve really disappointed me!”

”I was wrong, I genuinely know I was wrong. Please forgive me, okay? Just this once, only this once, I’m begging you!”

”I don’t know which of your words are true and which are false. Let’s talk about this later; I’m busy now. Please excuse me!”

Xiao Wei immediately shut down his computer, and Li Jiayuan, staring at the now-offline Xiao Wei, struggled to calm her disheartened emotions for a long time.
